  1. Firsttimecavmum I have sent you a PM I have an oddball Ruby cavalier who is a growler amongst other things
  2. Hi Dappledgrey Have you looked at the breeders section on the dol website? I think there are a few breeders in Victoria? The good? Everthing. They worm their way into your heart & you'll wonder how you ever lived without one :) The bad? They are addictive!!  One is never enough! Oh & the fur... they drop ALOT of fur. A good vacuum is a necessity!
  3. What suburb are you in? A close friend of mine offers a dog sitting service in middle swan area
  4. My girls both stay outside when we are at work. I only work 3 days a week though. When I'm not at work and need to go out for a few hours I leave them inside. They have access to a doggy door. When they are outside they have access to a daybed and or a kennel under a large pergola which they both fit in.
  5. Mine have a few... Whenever I come home from work and let them both inside they race upstairs & do zoomies. Everytime I lay on my bed Zara thinks its an invitation for Zara to cuddle - smother style.. on my face  If I sit on the couch, Lucy jumps in my lap Morning time - they both wake up my son Dinner/breakfast - Zara will wait outside patiently whenever she thinks she should be fed.
  6. I feed mine Royal Canin cavalier in the morning - 1/3 cup & then at night I feed them raw - chicken wings/frames or turkey wings :)
  7. OMG.. I love it! I want it! I found it on their website.. http://shop.dangerfield.com.au/girls/clothing/dresses/101-dress-season-aw15-from-98-00.html So tempted to buy it!
  8. The only thing thats been chewed in my house once were my timber shutters.
  9. She's very cute :) I agree with what everyone has said. The correct name for the breed though is Cavalier King Charles :)

    Cherry

I am so sorry to you & your family over the loss of little Cherry
  11. Both my girls are spoilt. I don't even call them dogs. They are my "girls"  During the day when I'm at work they sleep outside on an expensive daybed & chase butterflies in the garden. Sometimes they help themselves to fresh fruit & vegetables from my garden. When I'm home they are fussed over & lay wherever they please including my lap when I sit down. They have been known to have prawns for dinner :)
  12. We went & saw the dog today Whilst she was very cute she wasn't right for my friend for several reasons The search continues!
  13. I'm just going to go & look with no expectations. We definately won't be walking away with her on the day. I'll update after Friday! Thanks for all your advise :)
  14. She is moving interstate & unable to take the dog with her. She said she gets scared of men & will just shake & go in her kennel. One of my cavs is like that though & it isn't an issue. She generally just bolts into her crate as soon as an unknown (or known) man comes in.
  15. This is the little girl. The owner sent me some photos. Not very good but I'll get more on Friday :)
  16. Thanks Pers. I'll add them to my list
  17. Thanks Pie. Yes the current owner has said that she gets anxious around men which wouldn't be a problem (her husband died recently). The current owner has 3 small kids & said she is great with them. Its a necessity as the lady who's looking at the dog has loads of grandchildren! The owner is going to bring one of her kids with her when we meet. I'm going to bring my dog to see how she is with other dogs.. My elderly friend just basically wants a companion dog.. a little lap dog that will follow her around & that will enjoy a walk every day.
  18. Hmm thanks everyone. I'm going with the lady to meet the dog on Friday. The dog is 5 & the current owner has said that she would prefer an elderly person to take her in.
  19. Ahh.. thanks Pers :) In your experience do you think they would make a good pet for an elderly lady?
  20. Hi Everyone Can anyone point me in the right direction to find info on the miniature fox terrior? I can't find anything in the breed sub forums or dog breeds 101 threads. Does anyone have one that I can ask questions about? Thanks :)
  21. You sound like you are being a great mum to him :) In regards to the breeder if she is registered & sold him as a registered puppy then you should definately receive papers for him. When I purchased my Lucy 3 years ago it took 6 months for me to receive the papers. (I'm in Perth & purchased her from NSW) I contacted dogsNSW & they were really, really helpful. Their email address is [email protected] From memory I just had to give them the breeders prefix & Lucy's DOB & maybe her microchip number. Turned out that the breeder hadn't even registered the litter but they must have followed her up on that as I did eventually receive the papers. I would be inclined to let them know that they sold the pup to you so young as well. I sometimes feed mine turkey mince but generally they have a chicken wing at night & kibble in the morning. I think the chicken wings are good for keeping their teeth clean. I second cavNrott about the crate. They are invaluable. He is super duper cute BTW. Please let us know how you get on :)
  22. HuskyDrake I am also so sorry for your loss. Condolonces to you & your family.
