  1. hey Does anyone know where on the net i can download some of these movies ? Really excited to see some of them problem is i cant find anywhere to watch them online
  2. Well hello there iggylover ;) , i see your making a great and you know where i stand on this one So good on ya mate and ill leave you to it.
  3. Hey, the videos Kavik uploaded just reminded me to ask. Ive heard so many good things about Micheal Ellis, has he ever done any seminars in Australia?
  4. Hey Greyt, i didnt use the term energetic because i didnt mean energetic. I believe drive and energy have totally different meanings
  5. Blonde Phoenix, a puppy can definitely be high drive, I suggest you watch the video called 'So you think you want a high drive puppy'. I hope Nekhbet and others that understand this topic abit more drop a line on what they think.
  6. I wish you guys could steer the converstation back in the direction the OP had intended to be. Its actually a very intresting point and i wouldnt mind hearing what everyone has to say on it
  7. Sandgrubber, the issue is that High Drive, is a term used differently by different people to describe different things. Someone may describe as an energetic terrier that runs around 10 hours a day as High Drive. While someone else will refer to the dedicated working line malinois as high drive. That is why im trying to see what everyone regards as a high drive dog, making it easier to point out specific points that people use in common and also uncommon points. At the end of the day, it will help people differentiate the uses of this term. .
  8. haha awesome photos, they are all amazing doggies Bobby under no circumstances will ever use a bed. Since he was a pup i literally got him every single bed available when i worked at PetBarn and he rejected them all. He loves either sleeping next to me on my bed ( its a single so we push for space) or when he isnt allowed he'll sleep under my bed so he can keep track of me at all hours of the night.
  9. Hey everyone, this is not to provoke any owner/breeder/handler, I would just like to get everyone's opinions on whether or not they believe the term 'high drive' is used in some instances where people do not truly believe what it means, replacing terms such as playful and active with high drive? Some people seem to use it describe a better litter of pups they are trying to sell(not reliable responsible breeders)and began using the word as a favourable description? I have realised that alot of pups/dogs end up in pounds due to their intense drive and dont believe that SOME people originally purchasing these dogs really know what they are getting themselves into. What does everyone think about this issue?
  10. Hey, I would strongly advise you to find a solution for this cat. Either keep him indoors, or build him a run. Although rabbits are a feral species introduced into australia, i am afraid that is not all that he is killing. Wildlife suffers greatly from cats especially reptiles ( which i love so much) That is why if you jump on any reptile forum you will quickly pick up on their passionate dislike for cats, its because they are left to roam and give a major blow to our wildlife and protected species. Even something like killing a bluetongue is a BIG BIG no no.
  11. Sorry, i didnt quite understand what you mean? She asked repeatedly to take care of him while i was gone because they had not spent time together for a while. Are you suggesting that she did that to him because of me? Sorry not making sense to me So you are saying your ex is not vindictive and you are on good terms she's just a lazy ermm....#@*& ?? Sorry if I didn't make myself clear...I was just wondering if some of your ex' negligence didn't have an element of payback in it...in hindsight it wasn't for me to speculate and I do apologise... Nah its okay, i just didnt understand what you meant. I honestly dont think it was vindictive, it was just pure laziness. We got Bobby together and raised him together till we broke up when he was about 8 months old. What really pissed me off is that i left her the number for the groomer and she just neglected it...
  12. haha yea you gotta love APS, my favourite forum hands down...
  13. I "was" on APS too.... banned for life though... LOOL someone was a abit naughty :p
  14. snake catcher....You wouldnt be the same ssssnakeman from Aussie Pythons and Snakes:) haha im Exotic_Doc
  15. I presumed they would have had similar coats, but it doesn't pay to presume these things without knowing i guess ;) the samoyed are GORGEOUS, i'm also in love with the Finish Lapphund's as my new obsessions, but both are too big for my lifestyle so i'll have to stick to my number 1 dog the Pom, small in size but BIG in personality as you would know having owned one. Lucy is only 7 months old but I think we're going through the teenage years, she's starting to get quite possessive over me, I need to get her some serious training stat or i'm going to have a very naughty dog on my hand. Intelligent little buggers though, so so so smart and too darn cute all the time. Haha i agree with what your saying about poms they are amazing little dogs, she is probably one of the most beautiful dogs i have ever owned. With regards to the fur, i am just speaking from experience with both breeds but it may have been individual cases and not a summary of the breed as a whole :S
  16. Sorry, i didnt quite understand what you mean? She asked repeatedly to take care of him while i was gone because they had not spent time together for a while. Are you suggesting that she did that to him because of me? Sorry not making sense to me
  17. Hey Bjelkier ill have a look for that jelly shampoo. Donatella, with samoyeds the fur is different to that of a pom.. It takes alot longer for sammys to grow their coats. The young lady that did this to bobby also has a pom that we bought together, she was our first dog Havent gotten to see her for ages now even though i raised her !! Miss her heaps, everytime i see your dp of your pom Donatella i remember her lol she looks identical
  18. Thanks everyone, lesson learnt the hard way. Next time he will only ever stay with my parents. I hope it grows quick. He loooks soo cute haha you would never think he is a sammy lol
  19. Thanks Bjelkier, im popping down today to grab him sunscreen as its getting pretty hot in sydney. I was under the misconception that she would take good care of him as he was OUR dog most of his life.
  20. Sorry but i just had to vent abit on here. I had to go overseas for a couple of months and left my samoyed with the ex gf i got him with when he was a pup. I left her all his grooming tools and explained to her how to use all of them, i even left her the number of a good groomer that can help her out incase she falls behind. Well i got him back 3 days ago and his coat was shocking, she had not brushed him for the whole time. I took him to the groomer and the only solution was to shave him. I cant believe it and im so angry. I feel very responsible and im blaming myself for what happened. Summer is a pretty bad time since their coat acts as an insolator, and the sun can really damage their pink skin. All he has left is the hair on his head and tail . Its going to take about 6 months to grow back from what ive read. Im never going to trust anyone with him again.. Sorry i just had to let it out...
  21. Haha thank you DogNerd Ive been trawling the site for a while before i joined, ill definetely have a look at that thread
