@Nic B - im so sorry that sounds like such a horrible experience to have to go through, i hope your little ones have recovered nicely. And for everyone who has asked - he has seemed to have brightened up a bit, hes back to trying to play with his ball which is nice to see. Have been back to the vets a couple of times. They are talking to a specialist today for me to see what the specialist thinks should be done. All of his vitals are good everything is functioning normally and hes still getting enough oxygen at 98%. My issue is we dont know what the problem is and i want to find out. His symptoms and what they have checked havent put him in one box to diagnose so to speak. It could be a range of things which is why we are looking at specialists. I will need to contact my insurer to see if that is covered by them as the costs they have told me depending on what they want to do can be up to $4000.00 (for MRI) but CT scan is cheaper than that. So will just wait and see. The neighbours have been complaining and unfortunatley the council was parked out the front i guess monitoring what is going on. Since this has happened the last week or two his separation anxiety is out of control and his barking has been ridiculous. the neighbour next door has been really helpful and keeping me in the loop about how he is when im at work. and he has been keeping him busy during the day talking to him and giving him treats just to perk him up a bit. So now im on the hunt for a behavioural therapist so help him with his new 'issues'. Many thanks to everyone for your concern... just is a process of elimination at the moment.

Hello everyone, I have a four year old pomeranian who has suffered some sort of trauma in the last week and a half (still being investigated by the vets/specialists) and since this has happened his separation anxiety and nuisance barking has become out of control. He does not want to leave my side and has suffered a bit of a personality change and is extremely wary of other people. I am wanting to get a behavioural therapist to come to my house to help me with his separation anxiety and barking as the neighbours have been complaining and have since found out the council was parked outside... (now just waiting for the letter). I really want to 'nip this in the bud' if that is possible and need some suggestions for a therapist Brisbane Northside (nundah). I have found some threads that recommend Jane Harper from Dogs on Track - has anyone had some feedback or alternative options that i could consider from experience? It would be greatly appreciated!

Donatella, I am not sure exactly what it was but the xray I saw was of his throat area and a bit of his chest, nothing of his head. I will admit it's all very coincidental im just grasping at straws and trying to put something together. Realistically I may never know. Going back to the vets to see what the nxt move is I.e specialist and seeking 2nd opinion. A big thank you to everyone for your well wishes its very much appreciated!

Yes your to provide access. Usually with dogs if there is one they tell you when they are coming so you can make arrangements if they won't/can't access your yard. That is what I was wanting not some random person jumping my 5ft high fence to get in which is there to protect my dog.

Thanks everyone, I hope so too. I just discovered today that in order for the council to read our water meter they must be jumping the fence ( as it's locked) it's only been read recently because we just got the bill. wondering if that has coincided with all of his problems. If it turns out it has i wouldn't want to be the person on the other end of that phone call.

Hello everyone, I have a four year old pomeranian named Vegas who is going through some troubles and I'd like some suggestions on what to do?? Last week my pom has started snoring, which at first was funny but now not so much when I realized during he day he is also what sounds like having trouble breathing while he is awAke. It sounds like it's so uncomfortable for him and so very loud! Also he has a tongue that is now just sticking out when he has his mouth closed his tongue hangs right out?? To be honest my first impression was that he has had a stroke or seizure. He has never done this before, so I took him to the vet where they did blood tests, searched for ticks, X-rays, and put him to sleep and but a camera in His throat to see what was wrong. everything came back normal and fit as a fiddle, he's getting enough oxygen, no collapsed trachiea, no elongated soft pallette, no ticks - basically all he had was an irritated throat slightly. So we Are 5 days in antibiotics and still no change... His temperament has changed he can't fetch the ball because it makes it VERY hard for him to breathe. Doesn't really want to play at all. Food and water no problem he kills for those!!! But just generally not himself and a little sad all the time!! The only thing I can think of is that directly before this happened I gave him a dehydrated bone to chew on which he's never had this one before but with all the results the way they are I don't know what I should do!!! I want to know what has happened to my dog but he vets are as baffled as me--- any ideas/suggestions?
