Gus got second in his class today :) pretty proud considering we were up against some tough competition, hahah for our first ever show it could not have gone better. Photo will be coming soon.

Lol my breeder does not show... but I have got in contact with someone else who is very familiar with my pup, his lines, the breed and the show ring sooo big plus for me I have been attending show training for about 2 months... :) also fun. Why im stressed.,... PUP HAS DECIDED HE DOESNT WANT TO STACK ANYMORE!!! lol I hope this changes on the day haha...

Gus and I went to our local dog park, there were 6 dogs, 4 standard poodles all from the same family & 2 amstaf x everything rescues.... initially I was not worried about any of them. Then what started into an innocent greeting quickly turned into 4 poodles standing on top and over Gus pinning him whilst one was using his backside as a chew toy... I tried to get in there to save him and these poodles started ganging up on me!! not being "aggressive" as such but were bullies!!, I am always a lot more comfortable with Gus playing with Bull breeds than some other breeds because 1 I own a bull breed and are familiar with their play style and 2 the only problems that I have encountered have been from oodles and danes!. I think it has quite a bit to do with your confidence and experience in/with the breed more so than intentionally being discriminatory about a specific breed.

Im freaking out a little bit, Its Gus's first show on Saturday, 1 - His a muddy mess and I cant get his white parts white, any suggestion? 2 - Every time we have a training session his mucking up big time!!! not standing properly or deciding he wants to look around everywhere or just sit 3 - I recieved something in the mail telling me to collect my numbers on the day, do shows run to some kind of schedule, it says judging commences 9:30am what time should I get there?? 4 - HELP IM STRESSING!! hahah

Hopefully this place provides better service closer to the metro area. I bought from them once and that was enough, masses of wretchedly foul chicken, that had apparently been in the unrefrigerated van for nearly three days. It was like soup... We were a week off rubbish day so had little choice but to put the whole putrid mess in the freezer. Once it had all been chucked out we had to move the freezer outside and clean and bleach it due to the stink. Well I live fairly close to the city which is probably why the chicken was still cold when i got it.... I am looking for different supplier though.... Im sure there would be a little bit better quality meat

I have Gus's first show on Saturday, I am soooo nervious he also has decided to roll in dirt this morning, so I now have a a black lab instead of a dalmatian.... and to top this all off his a nightmare to bath!

Lmao im amazed body corporate approved a great dane.... its not good to make a pup hold it so maybe train him to use pee pads? set them up in the toilet area of the unit?

Gus loves the beach.... not so much his clam... Nala on the other hand has unfinished business with the hose... I must get footage!!.

If you are willing to invest the time, and have patience than I think a Dalmatian would suit your family, although they are of high energy if you are walking your dog on a daily biases and persistent with training then you should be fine..... If my boy was allowed inside on the couch he would snuggle up with me all day, he loves people and loves to be around me every chance he gets, I always knew Dalmatians to be an outdoor dog because of their size then I woke up to myself. Every dog is going to react to something they are not familiar with, be it objects or other animals so the key is to expose them to everything early and teach them how to react to that animal/object. With any dog that you decide on the more they are played with, walked, tained and socialised with other dogs the better companion IMO you will have. Good Luck with your search.

I did add this in the dally thread but i thought i would post it here too for a little more coverage and extra tips in what i can do ..... so some bad news... I took Gus to the vet yesterday because his had some irritation on the top of his head and on his belly, the vet said it wasn't mites or mange or anything fungal it was just an irritation to the grasses and pollens which is good i suppose so she gave him a needle to calm down the inflammation and irritation, she said to wash him weekly with a good quality soothing conditioner and shampoo and to add flaxseed to his diet daily instead of every second day. She also wanted a urine same which i dropped off this morning, i got a call from the vet tonight saying the results dont look good, he has crystals in his urine which indicate he may have a stone or a pretty bad infection, but his urine is very alkaline which is apparently a good thing, she had to send it away for further testing and I find out the worst of the results on monday.....she said tis very rare for pups to have such a high amount of crystals in the urine especially because I have him on a pretty good diet... she did though commend me for picking up on the colour of the urine and bringing him in... if i left it any longer the outcome would have not been good at all. Not sure what to do in the mean time, im a little upset and worried.

Lol i wouldnt mind going for a walk in the rain.... but Gus does hahah :).... if his little head gets wet its all over rover.... but nothing stops us from a game of tug and some training in the garage or some undercover part of the house.

Every time i look at this little man my heart melts, he has this cheeky innocent look on him that reminds me of Gus and his just adorable.
