  1. Ziggies tail is not too bad.... Gus's leaves bruises on my shins... and it is more so when he comes in through the door... its just full force whacks on everything... but I do see what you mean
  2. It would not be a lot, it would be about an inch off the tip... and in no way do I want this, but I need to think about the health and comfort of my dog beyond all else... hmmm thanks TSD I will have to give this a try.... hmmmm I will need to do some serious thinking.
  3. They spelt Dalmatian wrong! :) haha but that is a very cute list.
  4. Yeap the first judge we went under loved Gus, he had her in stitches and she took a considerable amount of time judging.... I guess you will have your good days and your shocking ones.
  5. Hahah yea I knew he was a little monster, but she could have been s little nicer about it, I did tell her it was our second time in the ring... ow well practice is up for us as well.. show training tonight what joy!! in the freaking freezing weather hahaha.
  6. The stacking was a nightmare, and the judge said I had a poorly trained dog... but hell it could have been worse :D!!
  7. it just means he shoots blanks now :) but he can still have fun haha
  8. Gus has had a few issues with his tail, it has split because he hits it on everything quite hard and its difficult to get him settled enough to not do the damage, any way the vet said we had 3 options, take it back to the healthiest vertebrea, graft the skin so it covers the piece thats missing or tape it up for three weeks and see how we go.... So I took the third option and it worked... until I took the bandaging off for more than 10 minutes... he had split it again....The force in which he whacks his tail against any object is crazy, its enough to give you bruises and I dont know how to change this. So, my question is how does this effect him in the ring if we decide to take his tail back to the healthiest vertebrea?
  9. They dont eat the poo, if they did it would make my life easier.. but they do swoop the dogs and that I am not a fan of!
  10. Met an Irish Wolfhound on the weekend and all i can say is WOW! what an interesting breed!.
  11. You want to wear something that makes your dog stand out when you stand behind him and not blend in, for a Dally I would stay about from black bottoms as depending on where his spots are it could give the effect of having a dippy topline. Same might go with white I guess too, I dunno maybe grey will be OK until you really get into and get a coloured suit :p I quite like red as well as blue with black and white dogs :) Thanks!!! hahah finding a nice and unique suit is hard!!! I have a red skirt I might pair with a black top and red jacket :S hahah it will have to do because its all I've got.... totally forgot about the clothes aspect till now!, the same thing happened at my first show...im terrible when it comes to clothes shopping...
  12. Is there a dress code in terms of colour co-ordinating with your dog? are there specific colours i should not wear and why?
  13. Little miss Rogue is doing so well!! she has put on a good amount of weight and is moulding to her new family very well... :) i have not met a more pleasant puppy so placid and she is a very fast learner.
  14. Hope it makes you feel a bit more relaxed now :) yes it does, Gus is getting the "stand" and focus on the food quite well now, he looks straight and balanced enough so im not going to worry too much about placing his legs, they look ok for now and I think im standing still is a little more of a priority... thank you everyone for your help, advise and encouragement it helped quite a bit.
  15. I would want Gus to go back to his Breeder if there was an issue, I dont trust anyone else with him....
  16. where can I get white chalk? can I use any type of chalk?, Gus split his tail a few weeks ago... its healed but there is not much fur about a good inch at the tip and its a little stained and discoloured, not great looking aesthetically
  17. Quick question... it says the show starts at 9:00am.... how do I know a schedule for the day....and what ring we are in?
  18. Ow god that makes me feel better!!! because that is Gus... Dalmatian legs and all in the air... I guess im getting a head of myself...standing still is number 1.. then standing still with distractions... then standing still with touching? mmmm ill stop stressing out.. and just be happy with a stand still for a minute haha. And I'm not sure if his rolling on his belly in a happy way... his looks intimidated, im not sure if something has happened and his scared? Its odd... I hope its just him being silly and nothing more serious that im not aware of.
  19. I guess the worst that can happen is a get a few laughs right? no one is going to banish me from the ring ... I find shows intimidating!! I really never wanted to take this seriously, was like yea just have fun, laugh at it give him a little exposure, meet some new people, now im being a goose!!... :D Ok... I will just concentrate on staying still and not worry about his back legs or stacking for now? just make sure he stands nicely with his front legs straight?
