My pup gets this from the slightest little change in diet. She has a sensitive stomach. I feed her Royal Canin Hypoallergenic for her skin (instead of puppy because she gets a skin allergy) and she is doing great on it. It is very frightening when your pup has blood in its stool. My vet gave me antibiotics both times Bella has had this and protexin. If any food is dropped on the floor I fight with Bella to get it out of her mouth. I would change vets and get proper treatment.

That was my first thought too.

Last I read it was compulsory in NSW.

It's good to know I am not the only one! Bella will have a few days where her potty training is great! Then it rains for a couple of days and it feels like we are back to square one! I take her out and stand in the rain and she walks back under the shelter on the pavers and tries to go back inside, I put her back and say "Potty" and she does the same. We will do this for 20 minutes and then she goes back inside and pees on the carpet. I don't even mind if she does it on the pavers - at least it is outside and I can fix it with a squirt of the hose. She hasn't done no. 2 inside for a while.

Would You Take Your Pup To The Vet On A Leash?!
Cavamum replied to Cavamum's topic in General Dog Discussion
Most puppy classes require vaccination certs anyway so it's fairly safe to say that pups going to classes are. Vaccinated, even today the average agility and obed class request vaccination certs just to make sure there's no one carrying anything potentially around A vaccinated dog can still carry diseases in. We can carry them on our shoes. -
Bella was doing the same. I put her in the bathroom to sleep and she loves it. No more early morning wake up calls and if she has an accident it is easy to clean up. I just make sure there is nothing in there that can harm her etc, put her water and toys in there.
-
For those of you who have pups I was wondering if your puppy has accidents more when it rains?
-
Bella is kept in the bathroom when we are not home. It is big, so she can play, sleep etc. She is still a puppy. When she is fully potty trained she will be loose in the house.

You mean in 2010? Is it still as bad as it was then? Is there still a parvo epidemic currently? -

Fair enough. -
This was pretty much it for me too. A friend had one when I was 5 and it was the most gorgeous little critter with lots of energy, personality and fluff :) 20 years later I was finally in a position to have a dog so here we are :) they're the coolest little things too Same for me with my cavalier, after some research I got one.

You been to any petshops lately or looked at the ads in newspapers?????Theres crossbreed pups in petshops selling for more than purebreeds over $1000 for a lot of them Most pet shop puppies I have seen are around $700 - some of the "less appealing"mixes are around $400. I think it is also worth mentioning that a large number of pups for sale in pet shops are actually purebred. I have seen one purebred puppy in a petshop in about 3 years.

Not to mention vaccination. If she can't afford to get her bitch desexed how is she going to afford vaccination for a litter? Isn't it illegal to sell pups without their first vaccination?
-
I took Bella to the vet today for her 3rd shot, in her crate. When I got there there was a guy with his little puppy that looked about 8 weeks, sitting on the floor on a leash. No way in hell would I take my young puppy on a leash to a place where sick dogs are taken! My breeder actually said "don't let them down on the floor at the vet until fully vaccinated!"

Why does it take a pup getting thrown out of a window or a dog surviving a gas chamber to make people offer to adopt a pet?

Can people please be a little bit nicer when attempting to educate new forum members, tearing people to shreds and being condescending doesn't help.

Psychotic episode?

Ha ha, I already did that. I might give him a buzz and just ask when I could expect to get the papers. With him it feels like "Transaction completed - goodbye".

I will have a read of that.

lol Yeah but they forget the responsibility.

I know many Kelpie breeders, particularly those with solid red or chocolates put off breeding litters around the movie release time. They wanted to avoid people doing impulse buying a breed that is amazing, but not for everyone. The real test will be in 5mths time to see how many 'red dogs' have been dumped...... I know. It is so sad! On the other forum they were saying that when Frasier was very popular many people went and bought Jack Russels because they wanted an 'Eddie' of their own. Unfortunately many ended up in rescues and pounds. Too many stupid people want dogs.

I know! We need to swap stories! Thanks for letting me know about the Christmas break etc.

Thank you for the info. I got Bella 5 weeks ago, should I have received them by now?

I was chatting on another forum about dogs that have been featured on film and television and that when this happens many people want one of their own and are then not happy when the poor pup in question doesn't turn out to be the dog featured. Have you kelpie breeders out there found that there has been a spike in enquiries about kelpie pups?
