  1. Myszka She is gorgeous and with that lovely chocolate colour, big floppy ears and big droopy eyes, I reckon she has to be a GSP is disguise Her name is also beautiful :D Edited for poor spelling ...
  2. The cat definitely gets cat food. If this is turning up on the floor it is probably your skin kids (that's children ) being helpful. Might have to do some re-education there! Or try a note on the bowl if you have big skin kids. I would image horses would be much simpler to feed
  3. Thanks again becks I will stop telling Bella off and leave her to the puppy discipline. Within reason of course
  4. Duh, sleep deprivation must have turned my brain off. ... Great idea . I'm sure that will work. Thanks becks
  5. Thanks for the reply feralpup. The pack dynamics are shifting cause I started using the NILIF program and Bella is pushing back and testing her boundaries with me as she is pissed off about the change of rules. Hopefully this will settle when she realises I'm not going back to my old ways of doing a few things when she wants. I hadn't put the two together about her throwing Bruno out about the same time as I started NILIF Propping the door won't help. Bruno is not game to go inside when Bella is growling at him even though she not physically blocking the door. Will have to learn to sleep heavier
  6. How about if you feed the dog with the cat not there. Leave the food for 15 minutes and take the rest away. This teaches the pup to eat quickly (which dogs do in the wild I think). Then put the cats food up high where the pup can't reach it. If the pup doesn't eat all his food the first few times he won't starve but he will learn quickly to eat when you want him to. This helps with showing that you're top dog. Very confusing starting with two animals at once. You have to be slave to the cat and boss to the dog Good luck
  7. Wyvernblade I feel the same. I hope you can make it back soon. Training my dogs in drive is not the same without you to share it with.
  8. It's very funny normally. The other morning I had to get up at 6 to fly to Sydney and they did it for half an hour at 4.30 - not very good for my sleep
  9. There were quite a few reference about your advanced years !! edited for missing rest of question: Heaven's to betsies started early this morning in another thread which has been pulled. No wonder you're confused
  10. Hi guys Thought I might throw this question out to those people with more experience. My dog Bella (2.5 years) and my puppy Bruno (now 4 mths old) have been sharing a laundry happily since their third week together. They have access to the backyard for toileting overnight. The last week or so I have been woken up by the pup banging to get in the laundry through dog door and Bella sitting inside growling at him preventing his entry . It's not a big problem and I am assuming this is caused by Bruno becoming bigger and more dominant but I've never had two dogs before so am not sure. Have been telling Bella off for this (low growl, Let Bruno In). Should I let them sort it out or should I intervene during the and/or middle of the night . (I am thinking a plot for attention seeking ) Thanks in advance multiple growly dog experts
  11. Crate training links as promised: Link And another: Link 2 You should find everything there that you need. Crates are great cause puppies feel safe in a small space and they can be part of the action without getting hurt or causing havoc. Have a read of that and there will be more questions - there's a lot to learn
  12. Glamachic, what a cute puppy! Re the crates, you can see pictures on this link: Crates. These are the type most people use. There are also soft crates but I can't use them for my 8kg puppy who is now 18kgs I will find you some links on crate training. Have fun
  13. Thank you Troy. That is a perfect resolution . No wonder they made you moderator!
  14. Bella and I are upset too, Inspector Rex is her favourite!
  15. Thanks for sharing those scenarios K9. I have little experience with dog aggression and like to know how to deal with it. Will have to remember to cut off air supply.. I'm sure the BC still thanks you for ending the whippings.
