because it's called redirected aggression- it can happen Yes it can, hence the reason that children should never walk dogs alone. It's an accident waiting to happen. In fact I think it may even be against the law in some circumstances?? I don't agree that children shouldn't be allowed to walk a dog alone- where do you draw the line- we (everyone capable elderly included) should be able to walk our dogs safely without some morons dog running loose. I believe the law is for no child under the age of 18 to walk a declared dangerous dog- not just any dog.

The first thing you need to know is that you should be contacting a state canine control, rather than the ANKC, about any breach of ethics. But I'm with Steve here. There are plenty of pedigree dogs that don't grace the show ring - where's the breach in advertising a stud?? None. Dog is being advertised to similar breeds for breeding. It's not illegal to breed your dog, or advertise your dog as availble for breeding :) Yeah, I know. Never said it was?

Only difference between here (dogz) and other places is that only registered dogs with the ankc can advertise here, while any other (registered or not) can advertise anywhere. Like I said- it just clicked that he probably was only on limited and therefore the owner isn't a ankc member, so nothing to do with ankc-(though other people had already replied to the thread before I saw there comments) They have since updated their ad, and it appears the dog is not show worthy due to " Has papers but has a fault that the fickle world of show dogs don't allow but both his parents were aust champs & he won ribbons as a pup"

I agree with the others- report it. Those little dogs and others may not be so lucky next time. All owners need to be responsible for their dogs

I have just seen an ad (FB sigh) and I'm wondering whether or not I should let the ANKC know...it's about an advertisement for a "pedigree stud, not for pedigree show dogs" now I know that that is against there rules and code of ethics, but will anything be done as in, investigated? or is this a common underground thing? This is the second time I've seen an ad like it- *shakes head*

I like your idea MonElite, but how do you enforce it? Purebred and pedigree go hand in hand for me...if someone says they've got a purebred, then they should have papers to back up that claim. There are a bunch of dogs who may look "pure" but are not...especially the ones you know are not through their breeding.

Not a blood test to "predict" the onset of a season...only to varify most receptive time when season has started. Vet nurse 'should" know this, she may have not explained it clearly. As to Breeding any dog...whilst it is admirable that you are concerned about the well being of this young bitch, calling breeders will do nothing. Regardless of what register, Main, Limited or none at all, this bitch belongs to it's owners and they have every "legal" right to breed her as and when they wish, provided they are not Registered Breeders they have no accountability as to age of breeding, crossbred or Pure breeding. Crazy? Yeah. I am aware there is nothing they can do and I am aware of the law in regards to dogs are property of the owners, I was trying only to warn them that the person they have sold their dog too has intentions of breeding it, I am pretty sure any responsible breeder would have wanted to know that. There was no harm done in trying. I know how you feel...I have wanted to call up a certain breeder and let them know that the dog they rehomed to family 2, has been rehomed again to byb's (unbeknownst to family 2) who are using the dog as a cash cow...but I haven't....because the breeder can't do a thing to stop it.
