im with anne. If you think it best that he breed club help rehome the pup i'd be sending a nice email to the owner of the pup and give them the info so they can make the choose as to if they want the breed club to help it is there dog after all. they may not know that the club can help but on the other hand they may want to do this their own way and not have someone else telling them who is going to be taking there pup. they have only had the pup a very short time what was the reason given that they had to rehome it. did i read it was only 13weeks which would mean they only had it 1-5 weeks right.

my old dog has come to stay for the weekend while my partners parents go away. just wanted to get some advice on helping her loose her winter coat a bit faster. she's a dark choc with red markings. we plan to give her a bath tomorrow as she's been down the old's back paddock and roll in dead roo (right before getting in the car). and ive noticed she go a few fleas too. but she's shedding everywhere like mad since she came home today. i took to her with an old horse brush (long med soft) but she clogged it with about 4 to 5 strokes. i've got some old rubber curry combs and a feather light grey stone (can't remember the name) i used on the horses but is there anything we can start in her diet etc to help it she quicker. or maybe any othehr tips. thanks

are you hoping to get a pedigree dog or just a pet? our local shelter have many coolie cross pups, dane cross pups and lab cross pups. my coolie cross was 8 weeks when i got her and she was great with kids, very smart and was happy not to be walked every day as long as my daughter played with her. my daughter was only 5 but she had hers sitting, stay and jumping jumps she made in the back yard and i never had any problems with shedding hair. my local shelter sell all pups desexed, with needles, vet checked, a years rego, free puppy classes and microchipped for $250. very cheap if you add up what that would normally cost. and you have saved a life!

"They take the easy way out. But it's not the easy way out for the animal." i don't understand that one bit. i assume they are saying that someone felt it easyer to leave him on the side of the road then see him out till the end. i would be eatten up inside for ever if i hadn't been there to hold my girl as she took her last breath. she was my responsibility and i owed it to her to be that familiar face to help her feel as comfortable as is could and not be scared or alone. never in a life time as horrible as it felt watch her leave this world would i have left her on the side of the road knowing she would have been terrified and could have been smashed by a car. 18 year is a very long time to have a dog some people arn't even married or have friendship that long.

we should start a new topic about things your dogs rolled in cause my partners dog always rolled in cow poo and dead roo. -
thanks

Number two was....wait for it! Anything ending with oodle great! lets just encourage puppy farming cross breeds & giving them a new name so people beleive there a breed and charge pedigree prices. i'd like to know the others. i guess the choc labs and black labs do have issues ITS A LITTLE HARDER TO FIND A NEW PUP cause there is alot more gold advertised. thats all!

hi we are looking at getting a new dog hopefully soon and haven't had much luck in our local area. can anyone give me some tips as to who to contact to get prices to transport just to the brisbane air port. last time i transported a dog by air was back in 2004 and we also traveled with her so it was only $25. im expecting a lot more now but not sure what. im hoping if i can get an idea i can work out how far away we can extend our search. also wouldn't mind if anyone can tell me if you need to get quarantine etc if you want to bring a dog in from NZ. and what other costs would been attactched. thanks

mmm where do i start cords to the salt water fish tank more then once a bag of calcium power for the horses horse feed chook feed cuttings of the horses feet when the horses had their feet trimmed carpet off cuts loads of kids toys (soft toys, heads and hands off all the barbies etc) legs of the dinning chairs a bottle of cremé de menthe (which she also rolled in and was stained green for weeks) vegemite the crutch out all my swimmers money all the skiirting boards in 3 rooms my handbag mp3 player a kong (so much for them being indestructible) countless tennis balls yet she never put a hole in her fav squeaky ball and had it for years until a friends dog got hold of it. -
thanks for the info. Ive owned bullies before just haven't got a pup in years. i had to have my mini put down 2 years ago after her primary lens detached in both eyes. i was toltally heart broken. and couldn't think of getting a new dog till now. i was into breeding horses but over the last few years with EI and hendra i have choosen to stop breeding horses and move to a smaller property. im home alot and my partner said i needed to find a new hobby now all the horses are gone. my partner has a workshop at home and we have talked about getting a dog to warn if anyone is about. we also have his parents dog spend time here when they go away so thats made me relise how much ive missed having a dog around. I don't see the point in spending $650-$1000 for some sort of cross bred poodle thing etc they give a new name to, when for not much more i can have a dog i like and be able to view its breeding, parents health and temp and maybe even start a new hobby with shows and meet some new people. so i guess i was hoping that i would find someone close by that would help me if i should choose to show. I just don't remember it being so hard to find anyone back when i got my girl. but its been a few years now. but im am willing to wait.

Im looking for either a miniature Bull Terrier or a standard bull terrier. and im south of Brisbane. female coloured or with colour. i guess i would consider buying interstate but it just makes me a little worried. i would rather be able to see the pup first before i buy it. i am willing to wait for a litter. i have tried messaging breeders on facebook and not one reply. i have been using dogzonline puppy ads and breeder ads. but of all the breeders i sent an email to i go one reply that said they did have pups and to forward my phone number but didn't hear back from them until i sent another email saying i was still interested in finding a pup and again sent my number but they never called me back. a second breeder i called and left my number once a week for 3 weeks never called back but did end up returning my email in the end but had just sold all there pups. in my emails i state how i am, where im from, what im looking for and the type of home we have. and that if they currently don't have any pups if they could let me know if they plan on having a litter or if they could point me to someone that may. please don't get me wrong im not just looking to buy the first pup available. i have been checking the names of dogs on ads with the data base for PLL etc. and what ever show results i can find. thanks

hi, Ive been looking for a few months now for a pup but want to buy from a registered breeder. but i haven't been having much luck finding a breeder with pups available or getting a reply. i use a hotmail account and my home and mobile numbers are both blocked. some of the ads i have seen on a breeders site state that hotmail accounts will not be replied too and blocked numbers will not be answered. i've also tried the a state club but still didn't have any luck. out of about 20 breeders within 100km from me ive had two reply and had just missed out on pups. has anyone go any ideas as to how i can find breeders with pups either available or litters due. im willing to go on a waiting list of sorts for the right dog. i've started to think about buying out of state now but that worries me as i can't see the pup or parents before buying and have no idea how much extra transport would be. any ideas would be great.
