  5. I love confortis but am now using advantix because of ticks .. I am from Brisbane also , we don't have a flea problem here luckily.
  6. Rogue spends time in our bed but gets hot so its really mainly winter.. I love him snuggling into my feet :-)
  7. Can you leave her out of the pen, is she a mischief maker lol, Would she sleep on the bed with you? Maybe give her a chew toy whilst on the bed ? Not familiar with the breed are they family dogs? Rogue is an Airedale and he wants to be with us 24/7, he loves his family especially when we are home :-) Edited for missing letters lol
  8. Rogue loves frozen banana , you could try that for something different :-)
  9. Rogue spends his days while at work in his run, it is big enough for him to move around in and sleep.. He is safe in there and I can be at work and know that. I have snuck home at various times and he is asleep, when we get home at 3.30 we wake him up lol I don't get the feeling he is miserable at all..

  12. Yes thanks puppy_Sniffer I was looking at nudgee and also palm beach currumbin looks nice .. I am searching off leash some have reviews some don't , amazing just how many places there are..
  13. Hi guys, I am organising a breed specific get together and The people I am inviting are from gold coast, sunshine coast', ipswich, everton park etc so the destination doesn't matter that much as someone will need to travel. I was wanting a place that ideally is fenced but an unfencd area fairly safe ie away from busy roads would be OK. A place the dogs can play and owners can get to know each other as it will be the first time we actually meet face to face. I don't venture out much so I am really not sure where to go and I want this to be a fairly regular getogether . Does anyone have suggestions, Could be a beach, a lake, nice park?? It will be for November, these are airdales so prob not a place that little dogs visit lol we might barrel them over and prob not a busy dog park .. Any ideas experiences of nice places would ge greatly appreciated as I just doing searches and reading reviews at the moment. :-)
  14. Rogue spent the first 3 sessions snuggled up under my chin like a koala bear lol.. The teacher at your class would prob say he was super shy lol lol far from it now :-)
  15. Unfortunately the dog park near me the owners sit / stand in a group chatting while dogs run, crap, whatever and they don't do anything. I went once they welcomed me as they are all regukars but that's not my kind of dog park .. I had uncontrolled little dogs come up to us and Rogue wanted to play but he is so big and boofy :-) that i could see the little ones getting hurt, it didn't matter me keeping him on lead and far away as dogs do they followed and owners just kept chatting.. When new people came to the gate all dogs rushed over owner still sitting doing nothing... ugh ... Happy to say though I have made contact with a couple of people who have the same breed and we are organising play dates :-) :-) I so want dog friends lol..
  16. Thanks Baronia and everyone else :-) I have packed it and have clipped him so he is nice and short so easy checking for this nasty ticks.. Will check out Lions road we are going to Flannigans reserve and I don't think I will be climbing Mt Barney , that might interfere with my wine and cheese afternoons LMAO!!!
  17. Yeah I thought so LizT, I was just worried about the water and keeping him dry ( as well as ticks) we will still be away for his dose.. No worries I will just take it I have his crate and long lead to keep him away from water. Thanks a bunch :-)
  18. Hey guys we are going camping at ratudowney in QLD , we leave on Wednesday morning. I gave Rogue Advatix spot on for ticks/fleas on the 17th September .. Would it be too soon to give him another dose tomorrow? It should be 2 weekly, just paranoid about ticks and want to make sure he is coveted without having to do it while we are away, the place we are going too has quite a few creeks .
  19. Do you have his papers? Seems odd a purebred would be sold at 8 wks on gumtree from a registered breeder....... You said he's registered, but is he actually mains registered? I don't think so I don't know his lineage as well. I dint buy him from a breeder. Bought him from a lady who sold in gumtree. I have had him since he was 8 weeks old. He was/is a gorgeous boi. Love him to pieces. It is a shame that I would have to de-sex him without passing on his good looks. I love dogs and he is my first dog. He has changed my life so much and have never seen such loyalty with any other living being in this world. I am emotional but I will go with your advice. I don't want to pass on any bad genes since I dont have his lineage. Thanks and regards, Paz
  20. I was terribly pressured to desex and i told them every time I went that I wasn't until 18mths. but that didn't matter.. desexing is easy money I guess .. The last time I went and once again i was asked why not, I really got stuck into the vet as i had enough.. unlike your sister I am desexing but at 18mths but i will no longer tolerate the persistant discussion of being told I need to desex now not at 18mths.. shits me actually :-)
  21. You said he is a purebred do you have his papers? Intact gorgeous male on gumtree you are lucky you found him before a dirty back yard breeder saw him.... :-) You said he's registered, but is he actually mains registered? I don't think so I don't know his lineage as well. I dint buy him from a breeder. Bought him from a lady who sold in gumtree.
  22. Rogue had a bought of reverse sneezing' scared the life out of me I rushed him to the vet.. I had never heard of this before..
  23. Poor you having a husband that won't allow you to purchase something you want , is it just me that really can't handle this lol lol it's like running fingernails down a blackboard when I hear this... .. Are you talking about a dog that you will not be able to meet the parents or see the environment they have been raised in? If you are then I guess asking the price first up is part and parcel but I would think if you can visit then building up a little rapour ( sp vague moment) first would be a better option and that would be a decision maker to either move to the next step of talking price etc or run away . Just me :-)
