Hi guys, our neighbour has a gorgeous girl she is a mix of rohesion (sp), pity, English staffy, going by what the owner has said, mentioning the breed in case you need to know re behaviour, she is a gorgeous girl:-) Anyway my question is she plays quite rough and since rogue is only almost 20 wks they don't play often she is almost 6 mths I think. When they play she seems to go for his neck,it seems to be when he is on his back, no growling its all play and our neighbour calls her back, he really watches her and he is on top of her when she does this and makes her sit with him then he lets her play. Should we be concerned at this behaviour? . Would you stop this interaction totally or is this normal. Thanks in advance :-)

Neighbours Dog Digs Into My Backyard
mumof4girls replied to poodlesrule's topic in General Dog Discussion
Gosh that is terrible.. Next doors dog tries to get in by digging and whining sticking his paw under the fence.. Lucky though Rogue is locked in his run while we are at work being a terrier he would join in .. Scary stuff for you hope they some how stop him from digging .. -

Pockets the crate we have is way to big for my car, we bought one that he will fit when he is fully grown. It will fit in the back of OH Ute but I didn't want him in the back I'm worried if he is anxious this will not help but do others think he would be better in the back? OH really wants to put him in but I am not so sure..Maybe I am just being Over protective :-) -
I found a big stick Tangled mum up in lead ha ha!!! Home time what a day!

What about make up a run for inside with a toilet area in it. Some people use fake grass :-) Doesn't need to be huge as pups normally sleep most of the day, big enough for a bed and water bowel one end and toilet the other.. Pics please :-)

Natural Car Sickness Medication

Well we went to the beach yesterday a 50 min drive.. Gave him a ginger tablet 30mins before we left and throughout the trip he took little pieces of ginger.. A bit of drooling but no vomiting :-) . We did stop after 20 mins for a quick walk then back in the car. On the way home I didn't worry about the tablet ( actually forgot) but he slept the whole way so it was OK.. We had a great day at redcliffe just us on the dog beach and so happy the drive home was OK for him.. -

I'll make sure I put a thick layer of towel down, air flow, unfortunately the very back hatch window doesn't open but we do keep all 4 windows down so he has air flow, I think it reaches right to the very back. He likes to lay up on the seat that is folded down, since we are taking 2 cars it will only be him and my oldest daughter so he should be high enough to get the breeze :-) -

Mee too! I know what car sickness feels like, as a child I had it every christmas when we drove to the coast, I was the one in the back seat with the bucket .. Yuck.. Plenty more driving this week and we are going to the beach so that will be fun, can't wait to see his reaction to sand and the sea :) -
We are starting at Obediance soon at present we have a trainer that comes to us.. I imagine I will be that person that has no clue lol Rogue is quick to learn and gets bored quickly , it's like OK I got that move on lol so becomes restless and will more than likely be hard to control/entertain/ sit patiently lol while we wait while others are going over what they need to learn.. ( we had this in puppy class) It will be interesting to see how we go, I do hope people don't think I am a bad trainer or out of me depth because of this :-( I am there to learn just as my dog and I want a well trained dog so when we go on and do agility my dog is responsive and I feel very confident in my ability to train him, maybe it's more for me than him in a way, confident strong owner =receptive eager to please learn dog .. Maybe this lady has the same thing with her dog maybe he gets bored with it easily?? I hope she doesn't pull out because of this :-)

I am intrigued as to why people who have rude dogs don't make any attempt to take control, not only at obediance where you would think they would be in that mode.. I was at the vets yesterday with rogue and we walked in, this guy was sitting with his little dog and bang aggression through the roof came out of this little dog.. Rogue who is 19 wks was scared, tail between his legs and the guy just sat there.. I looked at him quite sternly ( lol I almost said control your bloody dog ! ) Like stand up walk the dog away, take the dog outside do something!! Ugh vent over I just get annoyed at people that do absolutely nothing.. ie the vet asked me to sit round the corner out of site of his dog which I was going to doanyway just because of the noise of this dog let alone his behaviour . I hope your next session is not so uncomfortable for you and your dog :-) . -

Well very happy to report that we used the ginger tablet yesterday. We had to go to woolloongabba yesterday arvo which is about a 30min drive .. I gave him half a tablet 30mins before we left then my daughter gave him ginger pretty much once we got out of the driveway as he did start his normal behaviour. He mainly licked her fingers he didn't really like it.. But he wasn't sick, woohoo, little bit of drooling when we left but he was much more settled.. Thank you everyone I know it's early days but I am so happy .. -
Feel Bad About Reporting Lose Dogs.
mumof4girls replied to Atanquin's topic in General Dog Discussion
Antquin, don't feel bad about kicking the dog you were protecting Zorro and quite frankly I would have done the same thing.. Really annoys me dogs that are not contained in a fenced yard or owners that leave gates open... I hope the council does something about this.. -

Thank you Polgara I will try that, I know when we first got him I did a fair bit of work with treats and the car as I had 3 wks off so I had him in the car every day doing the school runs.. Once I got back to work the opportunity wasn't there and I guess we got swept up in the doing stuff at home on weekends thing.. I'll make sure that changes.. -
