  1. http://www.britfeld.com/vaccine-others.htm Read some of the responses from others who have had their pets vaccinated by the Fort Dodge vaccine. Then towards the bottom there is more links to click on and read.
  2. Coloxly Tablets. Those orange ones. The vet will probably give you some today. I have some on stand by for my Trixie as she suffers from constipation often.
  3. Poor Minty. Hope she is feeling better soon. Sending healing vibes your way.
  4. PETstock. http://www.petstock.com.au/index/stores I'm not sure of NSW but here in Bendigo we have one.
  5. Why a raw diet? Because I have had fabulous results with it. ditto. I have heard of dog owners doing BARF and dry food. I guess its what works best for them. And I have also heard the some dogs cant tolerate BARF and again thats something we cant help. I believe, if it works for your dog, then thats great. I know what works for my dogs.
  6. No problems chilli, I'm just glad everything turned out great for you and your boy.
  7. Just got an email from DPI regarding my enquiry into the use of e-collars. Hi ..............., Firstly I must apologise for the delay in answering your query, I have been extremely busy with a legislative project at the time and your email unfortunately got missed. In regard to your query, yes there is legislation concerning e-collars in Victoria. Basically they can only be used on dogs which have been vet checked as suitable health and temperament wise and the electronic collars use is under the supervision of either a registered vet or an approved dog trainer (under the Domestic (Feral & Nuisance) Animals Act 1994). The legislation concerning use of e-collars can be found the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Regulations. If you wish to have a look at the legislation it can be found on www.dpi.vic.gov.au/animalwelfare Regards Cathy Pawsey Bureau of Animal Welfare So my point is, why didnt Chilli take her dog and the collar back to her Vet or Dog Trainer to have it looked at?
  8. Just wait until they want to try it on their hard skin on the back of their heels. I do mine with the Ozito.
  9. Give them a Xmas present.........Raw Meaty Bones by Tom Lonsdale. Lots of info there.

  11. My Millie was like this when we first discovered summer-itch. Red raw that was until we tried Quit-Itch. Leah&Harves I would apply it raw. Dab a bit where it is red and reapply four times a day. Do a search on flea allergies and summer itch. Some great help there also. http://forums.dogzonline.com.au/index.php?...91&hl=quit+itch
  12. I have heard a few people say that their dog/cats have been ill by giving them human grade meat. I have also suggested changing their supplier. It is good you have heard that this particular incident is being reported to the Health Department. I certainly would be mentioning this to the Health Department. And dont let this turn you off giving raw foods. Even I have been unhappy with a supplier.
  13. OOps. It did look like I signed it Caroline. ;) I meant she is my vet from Broadford. So sorry about that.
  14. Give it a rest Steve. You keep putting words in my post that aint even there. Chilli will let us know what is happening.
  15. You can get a neck burn from rubbing of a collar. Friction which causes heat. Heat. You can get a neck burn from rubbing of the prongs on the collar. Friction which causes heat. Heat. So saying that there is neck burns, can mean exactly as I was saying. Friction caused by unknown means, why I said, get it checked out. chilli was saying rashes/sores because she didnt know herself what they were. So therefore I said to get the collar checked. No I dont know, because I can not give a medical diagnosis without even seeing the dog. You said that, right. All I'm saying is unless the collar is checked out, by either the correct fitting, a fault with the collar, etc etc, we will never know the real cause of chilli's dog's rashes/sores.
  16. Yes and that is why I said to get it checked out. Neck burns can be anything. Maybe the battery, we dont know. I know that. That is why I said to get it checked out. And you can give a medical diagnosis without even seeing the dog? Really. I never said that. You did. I never said anything about a 2 volt low current stimulation. Only neck burns, which can mean anything.
  17. Thats why I said to have it checked out. I said that??? Where.
  18. chilli read these. http://www.itsfortheanimals.com/RUFUS.HTM http://www.kerryblues.info/WDJ/SHOCKING.HTML http://www.optimumchoices.com/March_2005.h...ainment_Systems
  19. Yep.......thats why I said.......McIvor was more commercialised. When Sue was on her own, years ago, she was great. Now I cant seem to count how many extras she has. I like the personal touch too and I am prepared to go miles for. I have another vet at Broadford too and she is wonderful. Caroline.
  20. Name change too. Yep cant miss it, cross the road from BI-LO. ;)
  21. You have yourself there, neck burns. Get the collar checked out to make sure its working as it should. Take the dog with you to make sure you have it corectly fitted. Having it on for long hours doesnt help either. Raining, yeah they love to play in the rain too.
  22. Hungry, always looking for food can only mean one thing.........worms. When was the last time they got wormed. Dont worry, I've forgotten too. Or maybe they can work you around their little paws.
  23. Hi mareschi and welcome. I'm about 50klms from Bendigo and have dealt with two vets there. McIvor Road Veterinary Centre 29A Michael Street Bendigo....ph:- 5443-7749 This is a good centre, lots of people go there. Must book ahead for normal ops like teeth cleaning, speying etc. Ring up for normal consults. Very popular so expect a waiting list. I use them and I'm happy with them. I found them ........I dont know..........commericalised. If thats the word. Bendigo Animal Hospital 294 Napier Street Bendigo ... ph:- 5443 3322 This one is good also. I've never had to deal with them, yet. But have had dealings with them when I've picked up and injured dog. Staff there were friendly and very helpful. Ring them later and they tell you how the dog went and adopted out too. Was thinking of them for my next visit. The others I havent a clue. Good luck with whoever you choose.
  24. lillysmum how much are you feeding her? If you are giving a nice size plate of tucker, well she can afford to be choosey. Little dogs tend to get overfed. Believe me I know. We fuss over them to much and dont they know it. My two chi's only get a egg ring size portion of BARF. And even thats too much. Dont worry about the size of the feed. Just cut the size down as much as possible. If one night you only gave a desert spoon, then the next night she will be hungry for tablespoon size. Watch the rest of the family. Are they feeding little tid bits? Tell them no. My Tiffany was growing bull dog size because she worked out that if she followed the kids around she knew she would get something extra. Dont change Mollys diet to often. They like their meals to be the same. Once in awhile I will change it, but only once a week. Now her teeth, little dogs are more prone to tartare on their teeth. I have just had my two girls cleaned by the vet. It wouldnt hurt to have them cleaned and start fresh. The bad smell from the mouth could indicate rotten teeth. They are so small and you wouldnt know until you got in there and had a good look. My girls are four years old and one had four teeth removed, the other two. Hope this helped.
  25. Its gotta be the blue dye that they put in the pet mince. A lot of dogs are allergic to it. Two of mine are. Switch to butchers mince and see how it goes.
