  1. I was under the impression that it's against strata rules. I'd be annoyed in that case too if they're trying to maintain their image.
  2. Thanks Sally and Tex Feeling much better now Still feeling very malicious tho' Got some great poo pics that I've been emailing to the strata managing agents and the land agent. The strata agent says to keep them coming It's ammunition for the next tribunal hearing. I send 2 versions - "The daily blog" with funny titles "The Scoop on The Poop", "Another Day, Another Dollop" and an up-date and warning that the official whinge/complaint about their lack of effort for the files (and not for them to take to heart)is coming :D Great idea, the more evidence they have the more they've got the ability to impose some asskicking
  3. My little fluffball has retreated to his crate and is hugging a teddybear. :D We're in aircon though so he must be feeling pretty cozy today!
  4. I wouldn't rule out new places entirely! I'm renting a brand new townhouse with no problems, and I think donatella's rental is brand new aswell
  5. When I was enquiring about rentals I informed them straight up of my intentions and they either said that yes, the owners would consider pets or no, they wouldn't. My theory was that this would weed out the properties that were a definite 'no' and I wouldn't have to waste my time going through the application process only to be rejected due to pets. I found with being upfront there wasn't many rentals that didn't allow pets.
  6. Congrats, can't wait to see pics :-) Exciting!! That's tomorrow already! Good luck in trying to get some sleep tonight! :p
  7. Oh no! Males are terrible at keeping secrets secret!! Lucky the girls were oblivious :p 2 days of excitement will be far more manageable for you than almost a month! Puppy excitement makes time go so slow even for us adults - Imagine for the girls. Yay! Make sure you don't keep the new video and photos a secret from us DOLers ;) It's always really cute hearing about the puppies growing up, learning new things and playing with eachother. You feel like a proud parent :D I think breeders do know their puppies best and no doubt they'll pick the best match for you! I didn't really have a choice of my little boy as there was only 2 in the litter, a boy and a girl but he is the most wonderful little man. You do fall in love very quickly and form a special bond and I'm sure no puppy will be unhappy having a big family to shower him with love
  8. I may be biased... But I love a fluffy little dog and he was such a beautiful fluffy little sweetie before his clip!! It's cute in a ridiculous way but his beautiful fur!! hehe at least it'll be cooler for him over summer.
  9. Oh how very exciting mumof4girls! I was just thinking about you this morning actually! It's finally January! Not long to go now! When do you find out which one you'll be getting? and have you still kept it a secret from the girls?
  10. I can't help but wondering if tonight will bring more bogans and fireworks as it's a public holiday tomorrow. It saddens me reading about the poor dogs who got loose last night.
  11. This is the one thing I will never, ever be able to understand people and the way they think...
  12. Rehoming is a bit like divorce. Sometimes it doesn't work out and all are better off if the sides part. I agree with the sentiment, but where the dog is happier in the new home than the old, I think rehoming is good. Sure, some people should never have gotten a dog in the first place. But you can't turn the clock back. We all need to be grateful to shelters, foster homes, Gumtree, breed rescue orgs, and all the other institutions that help with difficult transitions for dogs who ended up with the wrong family. And breeders need to be careful in screening puppy buyers. I agree. People who say that dogs are for life and you should only get one if you can guarantee 100% to look after it for life are a bit naive or at best don't have much life experience. Sure most people have that thought in mind when they get a dog but life is unpredictable and dogs have to be rehomed sometimes for the genuine benefit of all concerned. This does not include because the dog is old and doesn't want to play with the kids which I think is the most disgusting excuse I have seen. The issue is how the rehoming is handled. It is the owners responsibility to find a suitable home for the dog and not just "dump" it in a shelter or pound. Of course there are genuine unforseen reasons to rehome but this thread is about the lot of people out there who don't try their very hardest to make it work and just rehome for pitiful reasons. The people who don't like their dog because they're not cute anymore or the people who say 'oh the kids wont feed it'. As I've said previously, and others have aswell - sometimes rehoming is the best thing for the dog. We've moved country when I was a kid and our dog came with us. It cost more than my airfare apparently but he was a part of the family and we weren't leaving him behind.
  13. Same here.. It seemed liked every single house around me was letting off fireworks. They probably were. I had a very unhappy camper here who woke up from his sleep He's now curled up in my blanket. Loud bangs constantly until about 12:20.. now it's just really intermittent. Yay for THAT being over for another year!!
  14. Happy New Years everyone! Sounds like I'm in the middle of world war III at mine currently Hope all is well and quiet where you all are! x
  15. It's disappointing that there are losers who actively ignore firebans and put everyone in danger, including themselves!! I know - we would't even let the kids have sparklers tonight -it was 39 today and 41 tomorrow Oh ouch that's HOT! SA has such a dry heat too. Let's hope their firework stash runs out soon. I wouldn't even know where to buy them... and everyone seems to have them We had a strangely warm day today, but it was just disgusting, overcast and humid.

  17. Fingers crossed it stays like that for you. It's a bit like a war zone here. ETA Now we have a couple of helicopters to add to the mix. Hope they are lining up the dickheads with the crackers.Probably not, but it seems to have stopped them for the moment. We are close to the Essendon Airport, so not far for the helicopter to travel. My usual noisy neighbours have gone out but I have the people in the complex over right by my fence going for gold. I have the airport and the trainline to deal with too.. but the fireworks drown those out.
  18. Oh perfect That's really good to know considering Australia Day is fast approaching. I don't think anything would be an ultimate solution but hopefully it's taking a bit of the edge off for Smooch Poor darling.
  19. Is this the 'rescue remedy' that you can get in chemists for humans? sounds like a good buy!
  20. Yup! I hear ya! I just walked outside and looked down my complex to see where the fireworks are coming from and they're coming from the complex next door quite close to my fence. Oh to look inside the mind of a bogan.
  21. Ohhhhh butter wouldn't melt! What a gorgeous little face
  22. Oh how cute! It is cute. Mine never worried till 2 years ago when someone down the road let of what could only be described as a home made bomb it was so loud. Apparently he blew his hand off . Kids can be so stupid. What an idiot! Some people need things like that to happen to them to wake them up to their stupidity. :
