  1. I was under the impression that they don't have the best capacity as they're quite small. My sister has 1 JRT and the robot vacuum poses 2 issues: 1. It gets full rather quick and is needed to be emptied very often. 2. Dog thinks it is a toy and plays with it.. In the end my sister has gone back to using her dyson.
  2. That's not good.. It's awful when people don't listen to your instructions, and you trust these people to do as you've asked. Make sure you let them know that they've upset you, and that you're angry (Calmly of course) and ask them what were they thinking. It's obviously not going to change what's happened, but feedback is always good, so they can -hopefully- take it on board and become a better groomer. As with humans and dogs alike, hair does grow back! It's just disheartening not having a job done properly!
  3. All these stories are far too adorable!
  4. I'd say most 'commonly seen' pomeranian colour would be orange, most popular or sought after would be white or parti. I would have a tribe of every colour if I could :D colour didn't really come into it for me however I did lean toward orange, but that went out the window! :p
  5. Little Catdog - Perhaps you should learn the concept that giving to charities is, for many, something that happens all year round and not just something people do at Christmas time so they feel they've 'done their bit with their $20 donation'. I may only be a relatively new member here, but I've lurked for some time prior to joining. One of the reasons I joined? Because it's obvious from reading through posts, how wonderful and selfless DOLers are when coming to helping out others, and causes. Not just donating some cash at Christmas time, but helping out throughout the year, cash donations, and taking in many a foster pet. Another reason why I joined? Because it's obvious that people on here love their dogs very much and there pets are like family to them. Would you deny your children presents at Christmas time because there are many children in poverty? People give gifts and toys to the ones they love. I have donated to shelters both money and items of need for many years and I haven't even had a dog, I still don't. Not for another 2 weeks. Have I bought an absolute sh*tload of toys and items for my puppy? You're damn right I have but it doesn't mean that I've stopped remembering or giving to those who need it. ETA Typo!
  6. That's exactly what it's doing and why I think it's so clever. How easy is it to meet someone who owns an entire dog and instead of getting on a rant and tell them to cut their dog's balls off you can just throw in - Hey have you seen the Katherine Heigl hates balls ad. Nice ice breaker! It'll definitely get people talking, and checking out the ad that's for sure!
  7. Aww what a gorgeous little man.. RIP little fella
  8. A lot of these scammers are from Africa (More specifically Cameroon) - Similar to those e-mails that inform you that you're a long lost 300th removed cousin of the dying king who wishes to give you 1 trillion dollars. There are a few articles elsewhere about these types of scammers. A lot say they're in Australia, then say they're in Africa for work and then ask that the money be wired via Western Union (Untraceable). Watch for poorly written English, photos that are 'too cute'. Usually, if you right click and check the properties of the images or save the images, they'll come up with a file name. Usually you can search the file name in google and it'll come up with the original advert - the non scam (They've just stolen the pic). Scammers aren't usually to smart to change the file name as they aren't aware that saving the image allows for the file name prior to being uploaded comes through once downloaded from a site.
  9. I needed everything for my puppy. I ordered everything online, and have received my final delivery today I have 14 sleeps to go and boy am I nesting What you receive from a breeder really depends on the breeder, mumof4girls
  10. I agree, whilst it was funny, and it was entertaining - it didn't seem to address the real issues as to why desexing your dog is important. It did appear to just focus on the unattractiveness of the 'balls'. This angle has the potential to work - the amount of people who hang on to the words of celebrities because it's 'fashionable'. However the repercussions may indeed be that people stupidly thinking it's ok to 'chop off' any other perceivable 'ugly' part. Katherine Heigl cracks me up though. She's great a keeping a straight face throughout! I wonder how many takes it took to shoot this piece perfectly But I think its target audience would just switch off if you told them those things. I think it works at the level of the average pet owner Yep, agreed. That's why it does have the potential to work. They have tried other angles, and have been unsuccessful so they're trying some light humour. Definitely not against any method that is successful I guess we're more critical because we do have that knowledge behind us, whereas the average pet owner may not.

  12. I saw the actual news report on tonight's news.. The injuries were pretty horrific. It really makes you second guess walking down the street..
  13. And another dog attack... It makes you wonder if these truly are unprovoked attacks, or if the dogs wandered up to these people who acted in fear and hit the dogs, who reacted in fear. I suppose being beside the point, people should keep their dogs enclosed and safe. Are dog attacks on the rise or is it the same amount as before but since it's the new 'hot' news topic, is it way more over publicised than before? Or a bit of both? http://www.heraldsun.com.au/news/more-news/man-50-mauled-in-dog-attack/story-fn7x8me2-1226212729519
  14. My sister has a JRT who even at 12 still has crazy zoomie sessions. She'll run around the pool table clockwise for about 10mins, then anticlockwise, then down the hall, then repeat the pool table run around again.. Crazy little possum
  15. White vinegar and baking soda apparently, my sister swears by it. Infact she swears by it for everything, house cleaning, add to the wash to clean whites and to de-doggy-odor the dogs blankets, her cushion covers etc.
  16. I'd put another vote in for getting an Aussie. From everything I've seen and read, they're wonderful with kids, and have lovely natures. AND they're so strikingly good looking :D
  17. Yay I can't imagine how relieved you are to have them safe and sound!
  18. I have to admit, Atanquin - I keep coming back to look at the photo, he really is a handsome boy :D You can post more photos if you like ;)
  19. HAHA... Awwww. Unnecessary, but pretty cute :p
  20. It's such a shame there are such negative people in the world, especially to the extent of threatening to harm and lay bait around!!! I think you did the right thing to caution others and speaking with the ranger. Police notification is also a good idea even for the fact that they have him on the books incase he offends again. *ETA - Grammar
