  1. Thanks everyone for your responses. Been monitoring Milo closely. He is settling back into more normal behavior. I think he feels violated, the poor little fella Vet has given him some anti-inflams. Thanks again for your concern.
  2. My 8.5 month old lagotto - Milo - was desexed yesterday morning. I collected him from the Vet at 12:30. He slept most of the afternoon, was not interested in food or water nor in our other dog. He was a little wobbly when he walked. All of these behaviours were to be expected. Today he has been a lot more wakeful but very restless, unable to stay still for much more than 5 minutes. He is up and down off the couch, in to the kitchen, moving from room to room in short sharp bursts. He usually follows me around the house but he has been very slow on the uptake with this as well. The best way to describe his behaviour is restless. I will continue to monitor him and will call the Vet tomorrow if he hasn't settled a little more. Just interested to know if others have experienced similar behaviour from their puppies/dogs after anaesthetic.
  3. Hi LuccatheLagotto Unfortunately I live too far away to be part of your play dates but I am excitedly awaiting the arrival of my chocolate lagotto - Milo - in just over a week! Milo looks very similar to Lucca, having the white splashes on his chest plus his legs. I look forward to hearing more about Lucca along the way. Hope you find some buddies close by!
  4. How could they not - he's a Bichon :D :D
  5. Thank u so much everyone for the positive advice. The tone of all ur replies tells me u understand where I am at and where I want to go! :)
  6. I know this is a common issue with puppies but I want a strategy that is effective as quickly as possible. My 10 week old Bichon - George - has started jumping up, and in doing so scratching our legs. It is very painful!! He also latches on to clothing that is within reach. I am trying to ignore him, turning my back etc but it hurts! I am also giving a consistent "down" command n a low tone. My Mum is coming to visit soon and as an older person her skin is fragile. I don't want George ripping her legs to shreds. Advice gratefully accepted.
  7. All sorted thanks to everyone who suggested the Bunnings compost panels! George the Bichon is settling in well after being here a week.
  8. Thanks for all the ideas! Puppy comes Thursday so we will see what we sort out
  9. Great to hear! Can't wait for my little fella to arrive
  10. Thanks for this and especially for the photos. Cheers
  11. Thanks everyone for your replies. Went to Bunnings and grabbed 2 lots of the compost bin panels. I will have a go putting something together before 5th Jan when my bichon puppy arrives.
  12. Buddy I looked at that one, too and had the same thoughts as you. JulesP - not sure it is as easy as get 2. Don't think you can just join them together.
  13. Thanks for that but unfortunately it's about 40cms short.
  14. I want to section off a room so my puppy is contained in an area that is tiled and safe. The space from one wall to the other is 210 cm wide. I have looked at the baby gates but can't find one wide enough to fill this space. Any ideas will be greatly appreciated.
  15. Thanks Eskyfor ur reply. I have looked at these but I ideally would love a Victorian breeder so I could choose my own puppy, face to face.
  16. Hi i am new to the forum and first time poster. I too am researching breeds and am close to deciding. Either a Bichon Frise or a Westie. Now I need to find a reputable breeder preferably in Victoria with a litter ready to be collected mid December. I would really appreciate any help with this that is available.
