  1. So unless we are involved we can't bring our pups? Also for anyone out Western Sydney way the 4th of March is Woof-fest out at Doonside Bungarabie park, with pups invited!!!
  2. I sometimes wonder too what my girl is thinking, but in this case, I don't think she understands the word of course but I believe she understands the body language that comes with an apology. I don't tread on her often but if I do she is instantly hurdled into my arms as my apology and she always responds to kissing me back and to me that is an acknowledgement that she realises I didn't mean any harm but that I am a clumsy human! I also believe they understand and also show remorse.
  3. Poor buba hope it comes back not so serious. Wishing him a speedy recovery =]
  4. Me and my girl Integrity will definitely be there! <3
  5. Lol it is as if my girl realises I am spending time on an artificial object rather then her. When I pull out the computer I get enough time to check a few things before she barks at me once as a warning to get off and if not she will etch her way between myself and the laptop. Her being a shepherd kind of makes things awkward but gosh I love her <3
  6. Most recent one I remember about my girl she was in danger and I couldn't protect her [i was doing a sleep over shift at the time so I was away from her which is rare] and I just remember waking up with this feeling of dread. Later that day I took her for her walk to the local puppy park to go and play and wouldn't you know, she ran over glass cutting her Carpal pad, the first time she has injured herself and one of the most difficult spot's to heal!
  7. Excellent to hear, fair enough Bull could have quite possibly "rushed" a person but benefit of the doubt, had he not I think this is just horrible if someone has gone and made a complaint simply to separate the two. Yay to Mr M and Bull~
  8. Well the vet Integrity usually see's was off so we saw another which said to just let it be, keep cleaning it with betadine and re-dressing so I am hoping to take her in next week to see her usual vet. The other vet did state and for anyone in future who comes across this you can only glue a wound within the first 6 hours of it occurring, so it was a no for Integrity but would have been a good option!
  9. I'll ask about the medical glue and the cone were booked in for an appointment in 2 hours. I have actually decreased her movement to remaining inside only and outside toilet breaks when needed. I feel bad having done that to her but I thought it would lead to a quicker safer recovery. Thank you again for the glue idea!
  10. Thank you for the reply! It is separating the pad from the underlying tissue from the bottom up. I wouldn't be able to tell if it has granulated, it is clean but I think that may also be due to Integrity having licked it clean as there was no actual blood just an open wound. This is her first ever issue and so not having any experience with these types of cuts before I am concerned, I don't want to be doing anything wrong by her and where she has been bandaged is actually starting to take off the fur and is looking like raw skin.
  11. My Shepherd was at the local dog park recently and sliced the connecting tissue of her Carpal pad to her actual leg and it is a fairly deep cut... (smashed alcohol bottle) Of course we went straight to the vet and followed vet procedure, putting her on anti-biotics, pain killers, and rebandaging every 3 days at the vet. Well 2 and a half week's later the vet had given us the clear (6 hours ago) last bandage came off as she appeared to have healed up well. Since 6 hours ago she has managed to re-open it exactly how it was 2 and a half week's ago as if nothing has been done. We will be going back to the vet in the morning as I have bandaged it up for the night and Bernadined it. I love my girl and I am very scared that it is just going to keep re-opening... Has any one had this injury and if so what did you do to control and heal it as my biggest fear is an infection setting in, she already spent 10 days on antibiotics and if we have to re-do this again it will be another 10 days... Please any advise is appreciated P.S I am sorry if there was a topic of this prior, I did search but did not find anything.
  12. I was just made aware of this post from the facebook group by I am guessing Gretel? Thank you for the head's up. I am a constant at this park, I let my girl run and play with her ball and socialise. Generally there are very little hassles, it is a highly used park with alot of different dogs and owners who come in and yes there is the occasional incident. On Saturday my girls paw was sliced open from a bottle that had been smashed inside the park... it disgusts me that people can do this. There is also an alert out to other people to be cautious due to what happened to my girl. She is now on bed rest and has been since Saturday with antibiotics and painkillers. Those that have been made aware on forum will be spreading the word.
