Hi HonBun. I think this stem cell stuff is just amazing. I am fascinated by how it works. My vet explained that the stem cells know where the damage is and go to the effected areas and turn into that tissue, muscle, bone etc. Amazing. Did you use your dogs own cells or the donor cells? Maybe this is why? Gives me something to read up on.

I had my Lab treated with stem cell therapy in Oct. 2011. He has responded extremely well to the treatment and no longer has any on going meds for joint pain. I went to a vet that takes the fat from your dog and injects the stem cells back into the joints. The vet also IV some stem cells at the same time. My boy had a skin irritation for a couple of years and it was the first thing that cleared up. Vet said the stem cells would have gone to the affected site and made new skin cells. I noticed a difference in him within a week. I think the cost was quite reasonable as well.

Hi pebbles. My boy is going super. Best thing i've done. Thanks for asking. The fat harvest was only a small incision, so that is nothing to worry about when you see the results. If you want to know anymore, this is the phone number of the company i used 1300 633 483. They were so helpful and pointed me in the right direction. -

Stem Cell Treatment For Joint Arthritis.

I had my dog done with stem cells recently and the results so far are above expectations. I had the procedure where the vet took fat & blood from my own dog. Its worth looking at. What is the reason you want to use the donor instead? -

Have a read of this site. Have my boy booked in this week http://medivetvictoria.com -
Hi Inevitable. We are booked in for the same day procedure where the vet collects the pets own fat which contains his own cells. After the cells are processed, they are injected back into the problem joints. The vet said the whole procedure takes about 4 hours. My fella has hip dysplasia and arthritis in 2 joints. The rep. from the company sent me some videos links to watch and its amazing how far animal treatment has come and where we are heading with stem cell treatment. Can't wait.

I have my boy booked in for stem cell next Friday. He is arthritic and has hip dysplasia. I have spoken to a couple of other people who have had it done and they are more than happy with the results. Mine will cost about $2000. all done. I just have to drop him of in the morning and i can pick him up that afternoon all finished and on the way to recovery and pain relief. I'm pretty excited and can't wait for that sparkle in his eyes to return.

Went to a information night ran by a clinic in Lilydale (VIC) about 3 weeks ago. They are doing stem cell therapy on dogs, cats and horses with arthritis, hip dysplasia and other ligaments/tendon problems. They said the results so far were extremely positive and had two dogs at the night that had the procedure. I've got my lab booked in for the stem cell next month.
