Trying to get the bar into the plastic bar thingy, its like the material of the crate was a little bit too tight and i found it hard to strech the bars apart to fit the metal bar into the plastic slider thing, if that makes sense. Its a good crate though.

This is exactley what happened with my pom, she jumped off a bed one night, no yelp or anything just on three legs. She was fine in herself, got her checked the next day and she had done her cruciate. When she had the surgery they found out it wasnt a full tear like they thought but a chronic partial tear that when she jumped off the bed had torn enough then for her to show the clinical signs. Sorry to say my bet would be cruicate good luck.

I have a k9pro crate, its good quality but i did find it a little hard to put up, though with use im hopeing it will become easier.

The dog physio is getting me to do hydrotherapy with my girl to get back muscle tone, her's is alittle more complicated than just old age as she had cruciate surgery last year as well and lost so much muscle. Luckly i can swim her in the bath as she is only little. The physio also recomended a product called Traumeel, its a natural version of an anti-inflamatory so no side affects. We are also doing accupuncture as well, so far so good.

Help With Making My Akita Take Her Medicine
Alibi replied to Lena.'s topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
You need to get the tablet far back over the back of the tounge so she cant get it back up to spit out. If she will eat it crushed that would do, but many dogs will not eat food with yuckky tablet powder all over it. Oops pixie beat me too it. -
I think someone just has a strong dislike for the police and would have thought this police officer was still being "Mr Plod" even if he was attacked will saving a baby from a burning building. Gee strange, wonder why the police are so disliked by them?

My little silky had a brain tumour last year which started off with seizures. She was put on cortasone to help with the inflamation of the tumour and a anti seizure medication, i decided to go with palative care as chemo wasnt an option as she was 15yrs and i just wanted her to have quality of life with the time she had left. She definaltey had quality of life till the end, she was a happy monkey then next minute had a turn, the vet said the tumour must have started to press on the brain as they couldnt stop it, so it wasnt a seizure. That when she got her wings. Hugs to you during this hard time.

My sister ownes one. She is the sweetest most loving little dog, she would go home with anyone that pays her attention. Loves other dogs of all sizes (plays with a goldie as well as my pom often). Will yap abit but only at things rather than just for the hell of it. Was hard to toilet train her as she couldnt get up and down the stairs till she was nearly fully grown, so is trained to a pup head (grass mat). I have met some nasty chihuahuas, but this one doesnt have a mean bone in her tiny body, just a lovely little dog.

Luffy, i have had one like that and it wasnt very good, had ply wood in the base and crumpled really easy. I just bought a crate from Steve at K9 Pro, hope its good!

You can get antibiotics in an injection as well, maybe the dog got both and the clients didnt relise. Perhaps it is a recheck of the glands not gland expression? It could be just a mix up with the clients not understanding what the vet has said and done.

One of my girls would sometimes get this when she had an upset tummy when she had eaten something she shouldnt (very sensitive tummy), she would get the mucous with softish poos too. Would always go away when her tummy would get better. Was nothing to do with anal glands, just her gut.

How Do You Cope, When You Know Your Dog Is Dying
Alibi replied to newfsie's topic in General Dog Discussion
Hugs to you. You will know when its time. I recently went through this with one of my dogs who had a brain tumour, it was hard knowing she was on borrowed time but i could see she was still having fun so i just wanted to enjoy that while i had her. Good luck -
No i hadnt read that . I think the op should hand the dog in to rescue then if she is such a "hassle" then.
-
I dont understand why the OP should hand in the dog to the pound if the old owners have definatley abandoned the dog. If they took the other three dogs its a bit strange that they would leave this dog if they were wanting to keep it. Maybe leave a note at the house saying where the dog is with your details. As another poster said not all dogs that go to the pound pass the temp and health test to be adopted out again, especially if this dog is timid. It would just stress the dog out being moved to a pound environment as well if the old owners really dont want her. It is hard without all the details, but if it is a true abandonment wouldnt that be them giving up ownership anyway? If a kitten was dumped out of a car does that mean if you want to adopt it you have to take it to the pound to then wait and adopt it back? BTW i would desex her.

Stop The Use Of Pound Animals For Experiments At Queensland University
Alibi replied to DMA's topic in In The News
Im going to put my head on the chopping block here. I work for UQ as an animal technician looking after lab animals. It is grossly misleading to compare the bad old days to what happens now. Most people who do this job are animal lovers (i was a vet nurse for 7yrs), and would not be in this industry if it was so horrific as people think. The dogs that are used for the vet school are extremely well looked after and loved untill they are used or used then rehomed. A brand new state of the art facility has recently been built with play gyms and sand pits for the dogs. The people who run it are very much for humane and respectful treatment of these animals. It is really unfair too to just pick on vets using animals in non recovery practice as human doctors use them too, these animals that i have been involved with would otherwise have ended up at the meatworks. There is no pain or suffering involved for them at all as they are treated fantastically before and during the procedures. -
Today my little silky was put to sleep after being diagnosed with a brain tumor 2 months ago. She is going to be sadly missed by her pom sister and espically by her mum . Miss you little furry monkey

I recently bought a bag of the earthborn grain free. My dogs love it, even the very fussy one.

Laser Teeth Cleaning In Vic,are You Interested?
Alibi replied to InspectorRex's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
If its anything like the ultrasonic scaling does it need water to to stop it from heating up? I certianly wouldnt want my dog under a light sedation with water going into its mouth, and at a risk of going into its lungs. -
I was a vet nurse, soon starting as an animal technician next week. My silky would be a really bad chef cause she would eat everything before it could be served to the customers. My pom would be a private investigater as nothing gets past her.

Hydrobath Crate Plush puppy shampoos and conditioners

I wouldnt worry, my poor silky usually gets ignored while strangers flood the pom with attention. I have been told before she isnt near as cute as the other, but it doesnt worry me as i know she is my little secret diamond to me.

Damm, the item has ended, missed out on that one

Senility - Any Natural Things That Can Help?
Alibi replied to Trisven13's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Vivitonin is on prescription at your vet, this is something used for senility in dogs (if you google it you should get a bit of info). Hills B/D is supose to be good for brain ageing as well.
