  1. OMG! I think I need a baby Keeshound!!! Hamish is ADORABLE! Though if I had one I would probably have to hug it 24/7!
  2. Not exactly bench surfing, but my BCx Rocky INHALED 3/4 of a beautiful cheesecake! It WAS on the coffee tableso lesson learnt! One of my cats is definately a bench surfer, she eat anything that she can get to. Meat, bread, veggies you name it she'll eat it. She'll also drink/eat from any unattended cup, glass, bowl or plate. Not to mention the fact she will tear apart and plastic or paper bag, box etc just to check if there is ANY possibility on its contents being edible! .....sigh
  3. Nawww! beautiful little dogs!
  4. Thanks for the analysis Coogie! Very helpful. I'm such a dummy sometimes I didn' t think to google them! Ruralpug- My guys get mostly bones too, but occasionally I do like to mix it up. Veggie ears happen VERY irregularly (maybe even less are seeing that analysis) but other ear types I'd have assumed to be less fatty/sugary etc....sigh. products can be SO musleading
  5. My dogs occasionally get a pigs/ sheep/ venison/ veggie ear. Not for teeth cleaning etc but as an occasional treat/ entertainment. I' ve been having trouble getting product analysis eg. fat/ protein/ salt etc content for them. As far as I know pigs ears ( and other pig products) are quite high in fat and veggie ears are fairly low in protein. Which one/s do you use/consider best?
  6. Three of my four dogs LOVE mown grass! I think it must be like the dog equivalent to catnip ( or something) They really do seem to have a ball! Though the fourth dog miss (slightly) neurotic princess, treats it with utter distain! lol
  7. I have always been under the impression that it IS illegal in nsw. If it isn' t then how come the police can fine you?
  8. I've heard that too. Something to do with the inconsistencies of temperature?
  9. Reggie must be weird then, he loves his ' arachnoid' ball.... even more when it has treats shoved in it! Speaking of weird toys, Reggie showed up with his nylabone BACON FISH yesterday. he wanted NOTHING to do with it when I first bought it but now he is carrying everywhere >.<
  10. Lol there are some awesome nicknames here! Alas all my pets have too many! Reggie- reginald, reg, wedgie, potato wedge/ie, wigglebutt, TOMD (tail of mass destruction), squedge/ie, squidge Sadie- stinky, sadie wadie, beebee, sadie the cleaning lady, grumpy pants Rocky- wooky/ooky, fatbutt, fluffbutt, rocky doodle, ooky doodle, butt sniffer, gynie puncher (long story!) Calliope- callie, beanie, calbeanie, beanus, beanus butt, monkey pants Brutus- brute, brutie, little man misty- misty moo, moomoo, fatty, famega ( fat and mega), fatness Tess- little poo, poo, pooter, tess-tickle Angelo- ingelo, lucifer, gelo, gelobutt, kitty pants ( angelo, callie n brutus all get this), evil, kitty Kirabo- kira, keywah, chibby, chibbadie-ah They all seem to know that they're being spoken to, though Rocky comes to anything as he believes that he will get either food or a pat! sigh
  11. I voted other, too. BC is inside 24/7 atm due to recovering from a cruciate surgery. Otherwise the dogs are let in and out throughout the day. weather permitting. At least One dog is always out to guard the chickens. Night time they are either in a ' chicken compound' with a sheltered shed thing, on the back verandah or inside (possibly on a bed... shhh!)
  12. Sorry no ideas about the stacking, but can I say he is a STUNNING little boy!
  13. I've always takem my dogs (as pups) to the vet on the leash, though they were always carried and not put on the ground.
  14. Beautiful shots! My old BCx likes to eat blackberries too....... though he just munches on random bits of the bush until he comes across a berry!
  15. awwww! They're gorgeous! I've given up trying to get my four dogs to pose together! A nye on impossible task!
  16. Shell and Zero are utterly inspirational! HAPPY GOTCHA DAY ZERO!!
  17. My parents used to mix kibbles and it seemed to have no ill affects on the dogs. I personally have never seen a problem caused by it, though I see a point in not mixing cheap with super premium in that its kinda like mixing fruit loops in with your super duper muesli. Though if doing that means your dog gets to eat some better quality food..... Sigh..... sometimes I wonder if its just companies like Hills just scare mongering!
  18. Nawwww! BABIES! The baby Newfy is AWESOME! I agree giant babies are the bestest!
  19. Probably a silly question that has been asked before, (though I can't find it) Mixing kibbles? CAN you mix different kibbles, either within a brands or combining brands? or probably most importantly SHOULD you? I've always been under the impression that you SHOULDN'T because each brand/formula is different and the act of combining unbalances everything. I personally don't mix kibbles, (I feed EP Holistic + Raw/BARF) but I work at Petbarn, and quite a lot of people come in and buy different brands and mix them. Quite often a cheaper brand with a Super Premium to "make it go further" or sometimes its mixing super premiums. OR I get the question "can I mix them?" Do you mix your kibbles? Why, why not?
  20. I would prefer a more 'local' class, but I might be able to get to Coolah. Uralla's a bit far though. Is there a clinic coming up?
  21. I don't know if this is the correct place to ask, but I have an 8 month old Kelpie and am very keen to give him ago with some herding classes or such? I'm a complete newbie so will definitely need instruction! I live in Orange NSW but would be willing to travel in the Central West. Do any of you know of somewhere/one that could get me started?
  22. Thanks! I did see the "buoyant" bit but my sceptical brain had trouble getting past the hole! I think I shall now be off to do some internet surfing and pick me(I mean, my dog) some toys. (because he TOTALLY doesn't have enough)
