  1. I know a couple of local Rotties and Boxers without tails. I've asked a couple of them (in casual conversation) about docking. I've been told that the dogs are 'natural bob-tails' Is this right?

Wouldn't that means they would have to have a bob-tailed breed introduced?

One couple was bragging that their papered female bob-tail Rotty pup cost them TRIPLE  the regular going price for a pup......

  2. When I was in year 6 , one of the girls in my class got a kitten. Her parents ordered it from a breeder in another state. They decided on a pretty little ginger female...... When she arrived off the plane, she was a HE!!! They rang the breeder who apologised and said that the two gingers in the litter looked the same...... she sent the wrong one! >.<

The family had already gotten all the necessary kitten stuff (in pink and inscribed) and so Matilda he was and still is!

  3. Petbarn stocks it, well the one I work in does. Filtabac and the 'Vetbasix'(sp?)one. Though I haven't seen either on the shelf for a little while. I've asked for some to be ordered. Maybe supplier issues? You could ask the staff at your local one, they might be able to order some in for you.

Otherwise I'd assume most vets would carry something of the sort.

  4. Reggie is HOME! :happydance2::happydance::dancingelephant::champagne::cheer:

I had to go to work this afternoon, but mum got a call at home from the RSPCA at about 3.30pm. Someone had found him wandering a little road way out of town. ABout 7km from home! Naughty Boy!

As I had already called the RSCPA they were on alert to his appearance and didn't even get to put him in the kennels :) Mum said they were very impressed with how sweet and well behaved he was.

I think Reggie is VERY happy to be home (and VERY, VERY tired!)

  5. Just went for another drive, no sign of him :( Did talk to quite a few people walking/out and about. Saw some neighbours out walking they said a friend had seen a 'black dog' out near their house(a couple of km from my house), wondered if their dogs were locked up. We had a look around but no sign of him.

I didn't think of vets! :o Just rang around, most are shut. The one I did get through to hasn't had any reports, but have made a note of him.

Any ideas how far he could of gone? We live 7ish km from town. Should we 'localise' the search, or look further a field?

Off to make posters and plaster Orange!

  6. I'm hoping he's back soon too! Though He has a very good recall and ALWAYS comes when called at home (probably hoping that it is snacktime!) So I am worried that something has happened/ someone has picked him up.

Also have had the thought that he could be stuck somewhere, but he has no collar on (phew) and he puts up a hell of a ruckus if stuck (eg in a chicken pen).

HAve driven around the local vincinity (lots) and haven't seen him. Luckily it's fairly quiet, so not much traffic.....

Pound opens at 10, so will call then and hopefully he is there! :crossfingers::crossfingers:

  7. MISSING!!!

REGGIE- 10 month old MALE Black and Tan KELPIE, as white on chest. Reggie is a very tall, lean Kelpie. Not wearing a collar. Has shaved circle on ribs (right side).

Last seen 8.30pm 31/3. LYSTERFIELD RD, ORANGE, NSW (between PINNACLE RD and SHIRALEE RD /WOODWARD ST) up near the racecourse.

There were 'fireworks' near our house last night which must of given him a fright. All the other dogs came inside but he didn't :( Have been looking for him since. Have called and driven around the area (rural) and will call the RSPCA/Pound when it opens.

REGGIE is very friendly! If you see him, please call him over and let me know on:

  8. I did find an old thread on 'weird' names, but it was too old to post in :(

So I will start another one!

I work in Pet Supplies and we have a 'loyalty program' that has a spot for your pets names. Recently I was filling one in on the computer and got the the dog's name: TREE STUMP :confused: Then I remembered the people, they had a gorgeous little female B&T Kelpie with them! Interesting name choice!

I've also come across a Kelpie/BC named 'Mulch', a GSD called 'Adolf', a pair called 'Pickles' and 'Beanie' and a friend knew a lady whose BCs were 'Andrew' and 'Christopher', people always thought she was talking to her sons!

My dad wanted to call our BC x 'Weetbix'

I've always wanted to name my pets after diseases and then have cute 'short' names for them eg. Tuberculosis: Tubby. :o

I'm sure you guys have heard of other great/horrendous names :D
