  1. We're in Wynnum so almost neighbours, so definitely start treatment! Melton is at Manly Road vet hospital and he's not the first case they have seen this winter but a bad case because of his complications . You are close! I put some on her only a week ago when I started letting her play in the garden more frequently, will definitely be keeping up to date with my treatments after your story. You poor poor thing, this is everyones worst nightmare, I hope the little guy pulls through  Positive thoughts for Melton! Hang in there little one Brisbane area is rife with ticks atm. The vet near us had 26 cases in abt the last month. I have been doing the advantix and then abt 3-4 days later putting on the preventic collar as well
  2. Thinking of you LMS. Hoping everything will be ok.
  3. Mine don't tend to sleep that much, my 7yr old wakes abt 6am then we go walking for an hr/ hr 1/2 then he will stay awake till abt 10 30 then sleep till abt 3pm as we usually go out in the arvo as well. He then sleeps through the night from about 9pm. My 11 month old is much more active though, tbh some days im not sure she even sleeps at all  she has the same routine as Troy but she tends to stay awake longer at night lol
  4. So very sorry. RIP Atlas
  5. Found this website with some older Pug's http://www.gupalsziv.com/nursery.html :) Also this is just from the Pug listings which you have probably already looked at anyway lol http://www.dogzonline.com.au/breeds/mature/pug.asp
  6. The first link didn't work for me but i was able to access the survey via the second link. I hope my answers are of some help to you :)
  7. Awesome pics! I adore watching them at the park doing their thing, my girl has an awesome time going round and round and round the park with them  I liked the page on fb :)
  8. Loving everyone's pics! Beautiful :) Sorry for my overloaded contribution :p TroyBoy 8 weeks TroyBoy 8 months TroyBoy 7 years (now) Thea Rose 4 weeks 8 weeks 3/4 months 10 months (now)
  9. People often ask me if my sheps are the Alsation type, when i ask them why they say oh because they are bigger set, straight back ect and thats what the Alsation type of shepherd is. Most people are suprised when you tell them that they are the same breed and explain the whole Alsation/GSD name change thing. There is one guy that reguarly pats them that keeps insisting that GSDs are part of the Spitz family. I have given up trying to convince him otherwise lol
  10. RIP beautiful Sabina.
  11. Thank you so much CrazyCresties :) Thanks Clicking_Mad :D Yep me too, she is perfect in my eyes lol I would love for her to grow a little taller but she is starting to bulk nicely now and getting that solid old style look that i really love, both parents are big dogs so i can't wait to see how she turns out :) Ugh yep, im in that boat at the moment too, she has ruined her bed three times, we have a barrier around the washing line, her bed blankets, well lets just say i don't have one without a Thea hole in it lol Don't even get me started on her fondness of gardening :p They grow out of it soon enough though, one day when they are mature and wise you look back on these days and wonder if the dog you see before you was ever really that stupid lol
  12. Thought i would update with some new pics of madam who is now just on 10 months old :)
  13. Just saw this, so sorry to hear I don't know anyting about this but i hope you are able to come up with a solution to help your boy.
  14. Yep Balto is one of my favs, but i was also slightly upset they forgot Fly and Rex from Babe  LOVE that movie!
  15. I agree with the other posters abt taking the family to meet a breeder and their dogs, see if you can put your families minds at ease :) Try to make them see it is not so much breed but rather good breeding and training ect which make a dog what it grows up to be :) As another example (although no bulky head) that would be able to keep up with your herding, agility ect, would your family consider the old style GSD? I am guessing they might be wary of them too due to the same reasons they are not keen on the rotties?
  16. lol with my GSD's you can certainly tell by their facial expressions what their mood is. They can do the sad/glum face, the happy smile face and the im p'd off look too  A good friend has a cocker spaniel who always looks sad, but that is just due to his droopy eyes lol
  17. My shepherd female is 9 1/2 mnths and is about a week and a half into her first season at the moment. I think as others have said it just depends on the lines. I was told by my vet that when a dog reaches about 80-85% of the adult body weight they generally come into season. I weighed my girl at 9mnths and she was smack bang on 34kgs so i knew it would be soon :) I agree with Alyosha enjoy the peace while you can, she will come in soon enough don't stress :)
  18. Yawning can mean that the dog is nervous and looking away can mean that the dog is avoiding eye contact, hence not wanting to take up the challenge that your friends dog is putting out there. Sounds like your boy just wants to be out of the situation completely.
  19. They are SO cute! Love the pics of the adults also :) What homes do you envision them going to? Are they all going to working/correctional sort of places? :)
  20. Thanks for all the hard work Cisco. RIP beautiful boy
