Sorry everyone but FlowerProwler i just wanted to say your boy is beautiful! I went and looked up the breed on DOL as i had never heard of them before and i just adore them!!! -
+1 She was most likely eyeballing it, anyone who has any clue at all about dogs should know not to do this to a dog they don't know extrememly well! And now the poor dog is likely to be PTS. Stupid woman!
-
Why, because they look like a pit or are a Bull breed? Too bad your poor friend doesn't know who did it, he could cook the person/s a lovely 'homecooked' meal just for them ;) Not being srs of course, but it is what you would feel like doing! These ppl should rot in jail!

I had a 'Trouble' in a litter too :D New owners of course renamed her and asked before they bought her why i had named her trouble  When i got an update from them a few wks later they told me they knew now why i had called her Trouble  Don't worry about strange names, i called another litter pup 'Captain Snooze' -
Border Collie Name Ideas?

I STILL adore Babe (yes i am odd  ) hmm ok, i will have a think and hopefully suggest some names. I chose my new girl's name for its meaning lol Plus we have a tradition of naming dogs with names starting with 'T' so that narrows my choices down alot! Very sorry OP but i have always wanted to ask do the breeders of 'Fly' and/or 'Rex' have a website link on DOL? They were both such beautiful dogs :) -

I also can't see a pic Do you think it is possible it could be some sort of skin irritation? Like something he is near everyday hence why it is not healing up? -

Heartstopping Occurrence.....strange Child In My Yard
german_shep_fan replied to ellz's topic in General Dog Discussion
Yes, it wouldn't have been the parents of the child who were at fault . It is his right as a child to go into other's yards and steal. I totally agree! However in the eyes of the law and the anti-dog doogooders if a dog attacked a child in this situation you can get your bottom dollar it would be the dog and the owner who are at fault with the dog being PTS Nope. Read the law. A dog that attacks in its own backyard is not generally held to be at fault. Makes a change! Is that Australia wide? -

Hygroma(s) In A 14 Week Old Puppy?
german_shep_fan replied to bianca.a's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
The poor little fella Sorry to hear he has to get it drained Bianca, i hope everything goes well on wednesday. Will be thinking of you two. Have you contacted Cooper's breeder, maybe they might be able to offer some advice or know if this has happened with any other pups before? Yes - i updated my thread, fingers crossed for his next check up, thank you. -
Just wanted to say thank you again to everyone who replied and wished my boy and i well. The vet has been back again today as i was going to ask for a blood test and then go from there about the scan ect. When vet felt the abdomen again today he said everything felt normal again. So either the spleen was enlarged and has now seemingly returned to normal or intestines were filled with fluid ect after his bad tummy upset and have now cleared. He is going to come back again in a few weeks when TroyBoy needs more of his ZD food and have another feel of his abdomen then. I asked if Hamengiosarcoma was present if the spleen would reduce in size and he said not normally and that at this stage he is not too worried. So i am hoping he is right and i will be praying that all is well at the next visit. Thanks again everyone.

Idiots - Opinions On Comments?
german_shep_fan replied to Leelaa17's topic in General Dog Discussion
I don't usually have the problem of ppl or kids rushing up to pat when i walk past schools ect as obv GSDs are scary and mothers with their darlings usually give me a wide berth and the obligational how dare you walk that breed of dog in public glare  There are some ppl who like them though and they usually ask first which is fine and then they are able to pat. Also many neighbourhood kids love them and like to walk them down the street with me ect I voted no, i think it is rude to just rush up and expect to pat a dog you don't know. Its fine if ppl ask first, but esp with kids if they pull hard on the dogs ear, slap the head or eyeball the dog ect you just don't know how any dog is going to react. I personally think owners should be asked so they can ensure the child won't be too roudy ect. Just my two cents. -
Thank you very much Aussielover. I am still hoping and praying that it is somehow connected to his IBD. I have had my last two girls die from spleen cancer and even if you remove the spleen the cancer is so severe that it spreads anyway. I am praying for a good outcome. After his attack on monday (if this is when the spleen enlarged) i am wondering if it may go down on its own? I need to find out more if it is not cancerous. Thank you again.
-
Yes i will call tomorrow and see what he says abt the blood tests ect. IF the enlarged spleen is related to his IBD i wonder if the spleen can go down on its own? (ie un-renlarge itself?)I really don't know much abt it, he did explain the function of the spleen to me today but i didn't ask if it can fix itself on its own i was too upset that things were still not right.
-
Thank you Erny. No, no blood tests were taken as it turned out when vet tested whatever functions are needed to determine if a dog is bloating he wasnt doing them or they were not present. He gave him an anti-nausea tablet and he seemed to perk up quite a bit after that. As he is a mobile vet he couldn't hang around for hrs but did say to watch for splenic torsion which didn't happen on monday and hasn't happened yet (i don't know much abt it but i suspect having a enlarged spleen will make him more prone to it). Vet said hopefully with his history of IBS or whatever the dog form of it is called that this might possibly be the cause. He also thought on monday that perhaps the reason his abdomen felt heavier might of been due to inflammed intestines ect. Now that he has eaten his ZD dinner for 2 nights in a row he seems to be perking up back to his old self again. But i am still very worried as to why it is enlarged. Vet said it may of been like this for ages and we have just never noticed till now? Its just the last two times i encounted problems in the abdomen they have been cancerous and i have had to send by beloved babies to that better place. I am just dreading the outcome with my boy. Thank you K9 Angel and Bianca for your kind thoughts.
