We have four, three whippets and a greyhound, I am happy with this number. We fostered greyhounds last year and the extra greyhound didn't make much difference, except that council regs say you can only walk four at a time.

That is a very happy ending, and I am so pleased you have your little one back home with you.

Might I say he has perfected the head shake to move them up sometimes and also is not above wiping them off on a whippet. It has taken a while for him to get used to them but the one advantage they have, over the other types, is that they do not cut down his peripheral vision, which the others do and that upsets him. The interchange lens doggles really freak him out, he will not even walk forward with them on, he just stands and drools. The elastic on these ones is a lot more narrow too which he seems to like as well. I think my Jed is a special boy because he loves his jacket and he also is particularly partial to reindeer antlers with bells on them. :)

This is Jed pretty much when we first got him, he no longer needs to wear his muzzle, now that he has his green collar. The glasses have a strap behind his ears and under his chin. The flash of the camera startled him so forgive the crazy eyes :D

Our greyhound Jed has pannus, so he has to wear them. He tolerates the ones that are more like sunglasses a lot better than the doggles type. He has no problem wearing them and has been for the last three years.

Recommended Dog Trainers In The Illawarra Area

The owner of the greyhounds that went through the group I was fostering for a few years ago used The Naughty Dog School and he was very happy with the results, Apparently they looked at everything including nutrition. -
Is There Any Things Said About Your Breed...

It is really funny how people react to greyhounds who are muzzled and those that are not. People used to cross the road with their kids and their dogs when Jed wore his and now that he has his green collar they just walk right up and pat him. So yes all greyhounds who wear muzzles are nasty dogs. You should buy him a green collar because he would not have to wear a muzzle then (my favourite) They chase all small fluffy animals. -

Really glad she is safe -
I feed my whippets Purina Proplan for sensitive skin and they are doing really well on it. Their coats are lovely and they seem to really like it, so I am happy with it. :)

Dogmad you are a wonderful person and you do a brilliant job for all of these poor whippets. I really hope they do not become too trendy or the pounds will be full of them.

Second this!!!!!

Hope this little one is ok

We went to the Illawarra one too, those Leonburgers were so spectacular and so was the Boerbull! Saw the biggest wolfhound I have ever seen and all the dogs seemed so well behaved. Jed just took it all in his stride and I think the whippets enjoyed themselves too.

Shows what some love and food can do, he looks gorgeous -
I have had a lot of different coats on my fosters but the one that was the best fit was from Annie, and it was really well made too
-
I love that........ "post hound", I think I will use that, although looking at the picture maybe he is just a standard fence hound. Rebanne he is definately an ex greyhound :D
-
Apparently Jed is no longer a greyhound; he has passed his green collar test and does not wear a muzzle. People now actually walk up and pat him and ask me what he is!!!!! They also ask me when I will start racing the pups (my whippets) who are turning four later this year, and get shocked when I say they are not greyhounds!!!!

Is It Acceptable To Leave Dog Stools On The Footpath?
snippet replied to ChloeEastwood's topic in General Dog Discussion
I walk four dogs and I have no trouble picking up after any of them, it is mainly my male whippet who does it and I always have those packets of dog poor bags in my pocket. It is not anyone's favourite job, my dogs my responsibility; but people who don't do it make me sick. At our dog park it is like land mine city and they provide bags!!! People are just lazy -
Our greyhound Jed has to bring all toys that the whippets take outside back inside. He stands at the back door with them in his mouth waiting patiently. Now if I could only teach him to put them in the basket! :D He also has a thing for reindeer antlers, he loves to wear them and prance around in them. If I move them he comes running !!!

That is wonderful, thank you for sharing

Four dogs and not a huge yard, I do it 3 or so times a day. I hate poop laying around, so it gets picked up after they go.

Oh SwaY I am so very sorry.

1 male greyhound 5 years desexed 2 female whippets 3 years desexed 1 male whippet 3 years desexed One of female whippets plays with the greyhound and sleeps with him, the others just all hang with him, everyone gets on really well and when we have foster greyhounds nothing much changes.
