Wasn't Neil Mitchell the one that said "pit bulls" don't have locking jaws and then proceeded to say it was actually Bull Terriers that had locking jaws?
-
Awww that is sad to hear, my mum was listening to the idiot that broadcast that all over radio the other week told his caller along the lines of "No you're wrong pitbulls don't have locking jaws that's bull terriers" I nearly choked at the ignorance, but we need to get our dogs out and show that they aren't the monsters that they are being made out to be before it's to late, Im ordering some cutsie outfits for Zeke lol can't say my husband is keen on walking him in duckie slippers hehehe but every time we have dressed him up we get a much better response from the public and they are asking to pat the "cute" dog before they even ask his breed, thats when we strike with the positive info

Have seen statements from Councils saying that they won't accept DNA evidence, but it can be used by a lawyer as breed evidence, so I don't think they would take it even if a vet gave them the same DNA evidence that you could hand them Well, I don't think that it will be long until Victoria has it's first court case. Hopefully a court case happens sooner rather then later, its been a huge and uneducated knee jerk response to a very tragic and horrific death of a beautiful little girl and personally I think that child should have a better thought out and implemented legislation passed to be remembered by, and hopefully one that will actually make a difference where it is warranted, not by causing so much heartbreak and distress to so many families, I really feel ashamed to live in Victoria at the moment

Getting A Dog And Stuck On Breeds, Advice Appreciated

Exactly my point not all dogs in a breed are true to general perception, just used the breed we own (BT) to point it out :D -

Good luck in your search and its great to see a young guy that is doing his ground work before getting a dog as (I think)others have suggested get out and see, greet and meet some breeds and breeders/owners as there are some beautiful examples of breeds that would suit your needs and lifestyle, I have a Bull Terrier that would fit every thing you were looking for but I could show you others that would not suit a single thing on your list of needs in a dog. I am not suggesting that you get a BT but pointing out an example just in case there is a dog that you like and have discounted because of a breed description, there still may be individual dogs within the breed that would suit you, anyway I hope you do find a lovely and suitable addition for you and your family to share some great memories and make some with. Edit for text stuff up ooops I am a girl? Sorry if I didn't make that apparent Sorry, then a lovely young girl sorry probably because my son (your age) is yapping in my ear while typing and I should be working SORRY am I red much ooops -

Attention Gsd, Rotties And Dobe Owners

Agreed we ALL need to do something but what? -
Personally I would be willing to support a class action in any way I could, rally, any form of realistic protest against the new regulations, and if you think YOUR breed is safe seriously how long will it be before those few irresponsible "owners" get a hold of your breed of dog? and it's placed on the restricted breeds list due to the owners own stupidity and arrogance? The government has taken the approach of genocide of a breed, if they had the same reasoning with people that would mean all on a DNA line would be deleted from existence if one or more people in a family committed murder, what is the logic behind this legislation? because I can not see it besides the Government pushing a popular (and ignorantly supported)law driven by media/public hysteria. Yes charge owners that may actually make a difference and at least people have an appeal process, and can plead a case these dogs are not even being given that chance on a case by case basis. We really need to stand up and the restricted breeds need the support of ALL dog owners and lovers behind them to show the government that it isn't the right reaction. Maybe a rally (dog meets) and petition signings could be a start? because all I can see is a lot of smaller groups wondering what to do when I look around but we NEED to all come together on this one. And I have no idea of where to start as I am not a club member or shower YET but I hate what this is doing to people and their families. YES I'm pissed off and yes I want to do something but what? besides a petition on facebook on a page with under 500 "likes" what can I do to make a difference? what can I do to save yours and my breed of dog?

We really need to get behind the owners of these "dangerous" breeds, seriously how long will it be before more and more breeds are added? anyone have any ideas?

As for prices I have no idea as I haven't bought retail for years, but it would def pay to shop around as with all things ;) Really depends on how experienced you are and what type of photos you will be and think you may end up taking personally I would go with the 60d it has a better AF System with 9 cross type v 600d at 1 centre cross type 9 points, 5.7 fps for the 60D v 600d with 3.7fps (just remember that's with a full charged grip/fast card)if you were doing dog/action shots I would go with the 60D for sure. I am not a huge fan of the kit lenses but in reality it comes down to what glass you can afford and what deal you can get. The 60D is around 200g heavier though so if you get sore hands that can also make a big difference when shooting all day. Hope that helps but hey at the end of the day it would be nice to get either as a gift *And HAPPY BIRTHDAY for Monday :D
