Oh I lurve great danes! I can't wait to see your pics, Feistykel!

Woohoo! Another Lappie puppy! Two sleeps to go for us!
-
No pics yet as we're still waiting on confirmation on which boy is ours. As soon as I know you'll all hear about it, I promise! Any advice on when to start puppy preschool? Should I just get right on it at 8.5 weeks? Well my puppy school of choice pretty much made the decision for me. The next session starts when our pup will be 9 weeks. We also don't have any dogs in our immediate social circle (well, there is one, but he can be quite dominating of smaller dogs) so puppy preschool will mostly be about socialisation for us.

What breed are you getting ceeshell? At the moment I'm still waiting for my breeder's bitch to come in season - then I get to count down to the birth! eta - typo A finnish lapphund. 6 days to go! Oh gosh, how exciting. When is she expecting to come in season?

Ooh, where are the pics, Rosaline? We're still waiting to hear which pup is ours and which day he'll be coming home. I think I'll call our breeder today just in case it needs to be on a day I usually work so I can give work notice that I need to swap a day (and not because I'm a crazy woman who is desperate for any kind of news about the puppies!!).

Fletcher is so cute!

Oh my, he is a handsome boy!

Dobesrock - Simi is so beautiful. GSF - I love your photos! I'm busily researching good vets in the inner west of sydney. It's proving harder to choose one than I had anticipated

Flower Prowler, he'll be a black tan and white boy from Kalevi's litter My 4 year old daughter has suggested Princess Necklace and Mr Bowlhead so far. Perhaps she'll have middle -naming rights!

What type of puppy are you getting?? And I absolutely love my CC brush! I could not praise it enough - Onyx squirmed so much when we brushed him with a cheap pin brush, now he will -usually- sit quite nicely while getting brushed. That makes a huge difference with a puppy that requires regular grooming. Nice, I didnt want to jinx myself buying things before we knew we were getting Onyx. So in the two weeks before he came home (and since then) I have bought heaps. What breed are you getting? I absolutely adore my CC brush (I have the brass fusion oblong) and the girls love being brushed with it. Like FlowerProwler, I have a lappie, and I also have a husky, so they're both longer coated. They are expensive though, and I will admit I don't use the CC brush when they're dropping their coats because I find it doesn't get all the coat out. I use a shedding comb for that and then go over the top with the CC brush afterwards. Thank you for your recommendations. We are getting a lappie, too. Hmmm, Looks like the CC brush is the way to go.

We're getting a lovely lappie! We've been waiting and hoping for over 6 months so we are very happy.

Ooh, ooh, ooh, can I join in? We have paid a deposit and have a little boy puppy on hold from a lovely breeder in Melbourne. He is 6 weeks old today and will be ready to come home the week after next. We don't know which of three boys is ours just yet. The breeder is waiting until they're a bit older before she allocates them to their forever homes. We have a 4.5 year old and a 2 year old, they're quite pleased about the idea, but my husband and I are beside ourselves with excitement! Flower Prowler . . . I have had my eye on a CC brush - are they worth it?
