A few years ago, I was hospitalised with a bout of viral encephalitis.I lost speech, the ability to walk and some memory faculties.After rehab, I returned to uni where I was studying Primary Education.I was in my first year and so I went out on a Block Teaching Prac to a disadvantaged small school in NSW. Because I had suffered a brain injury,I wasnt really up for it and never should have done it at that time.My speech was still slurred and I was tired a lot.I attended every day of that two week prac and felt really uncomfortable a lot of the time.The kids had a lot of social and behavioural problems and it was damm hard work.Teachers had AVOS on certain parents who would come to the school and physically attck the teachers.On my first day,I witnessed a young fourth grade girl trying to self mutilate herself with a compass . . .so many chaotic lives. After the prac was over,I withdrew from uni as I couldnt handle the workload after my illness.I still wonder about what has happened to those little lives as time has gone on. I dont have children.I have never really wanted them for many reasons but for each of those ill disciplined,foulmouthed kids, they all had a story that had led them to become who they were. I cant say im really a child friendly person but each to their own.Anyway, thats my two bobs worth.

I use Repel X spray on my Pharaoh and it works a treat.The flies instantly disappear! Without it,he is smothered in them all biting his back ad causing a lot of upset.

If I saw a name on a dog my first thought would be that it was it's name and not the breed. I don't imagine many people wear their dogs breed on the collar/tag, so name would be the firt logical conclusion. I guess not but to hell with logic :D

Yes becks...."Hello, my name is Pharoah, and I am a Pittbull" Oh please dont say that . . It was Australia Day and I had gone for a picnic with my partner at a popular beach spot.I had left him to take Kenny for a stroll and I was surrounded by drunken abusive men calling me a w%&*e and a bitch for having a pitbull anywhere near children.One kept grabbing for the lead so I literally had to back up and run.It was quite scary really as their numbers kept growing as did the abuse.There was no use even explaining he isnt a pitbull as they had a skinful.

Heres a story to cheer you up Muttsrus! Last week, there had been heavy rain for days and Kenny my Pharaoh had been cooped up either inside or his run for days.A break in the weather came so off in the yard he went . . Half an hour went by and all was very quiet so I went to look and Kenny came running to me all Wigglybum but sort of looking guilty and he had a branch stuck on his head.I noticed his mouth was bulging so I yelled DROP IT! It was a warm fluffy baby sparrow.DEAD! For some insane hormonal reason,I started crying for this helpless little bird and got a shovel to bury it.Now I am no cryer but here I am sobbing over a dead sparrow in what is now steady rain and Kenya is hiding behind a tree looking at me like I am a FREAK! Anyway,I guess this means I will have to rehome Kenny as he is a murdering sparrow hunter In regards to these people . . I couldnt live with myself if I didnt take the dog back.If they dont want it,I would fear where it will end up . . .a pound or palmed off as a freebie and so on and so on.But you can only do what is right for your situation.

This morning at 7am,there was a knock at the door!Knock knock! It was the postman.We all got back in the bed and opened the parcel and it was a gorgeous handmade leather collar made by an artisan friend in Melbourne who also has a Pharaoh Hound. Its a martingale collar and it is elegant and classy and nobody will ever have to ask me again . ."Is that a Pitbull?" aaa lol yea sorry it was a food stall, i didnt think it was called hydro.... well so did I until i heard someone say they are for sale, then I asked the stall managers and they confirmed what I heard. ... thought it was a little ironic having an Oscars Law stall and puppies being sold under the same roof :S... oh well hopefully they didnt sell any! Really? If I had heard this I would be speaking to the Expo Organisers to make sure it was above board and if not . . .dealt with so it doesnt happen again. Kittens for sale in the cat area were not being sold on the day.I enquired about Sphynx and was assured ads were to generate interest in a place of petlovers!

It was the HYPRO dog food stall . . .there were some Labs and a Pug puppy.I thought they were only to draw a crowd to the stall . . .hopefully nothing untoward went on.

I came by your stall today and had a pat of your gorgeous Dogue de Bordeaux and a couple of pics . .it was so nice to see all the breed stall well decked out and so welcoming of people looking at their gorgeous dogs. I thought numbers were down and some stalls told me they didnt sell much and were disheartened but I really enjoyed my day.

Thats my girl! I still miss her piggy grunting!! She is looking good . . .from hell to heaven she has come a long way. Always grateful Kelscat :)

Damn I was just about to say the only way for me to really get to know the breed is if you send him here for a while ;) :D Oh Lord no, It would be like losing my right arm.What would I do with all my time? No snuggles,no walking partner,no 'kitty poo out of the litter box' chomping,no farting in the bed and no soulful eyes to gaze into . .

What can I say? He is like a concrete statue and has to be jackhammered off the bed.Nothing wrong with being a bed bug is there?
