Yep, over think everything! Thank you for the kind words. Spud means the world to us so we try to give him the best possible home we can. I ended up taking pup home for a couple of hours- spud loved her but he was way way to rough on her he did calm down but would then just bowl her over! She was giving him all the signals to say she had enough but he would not listen to her. That raised red flags for me. Another thing, whilst I was watching them play I realized I wasent ' in love with her' ( if that makes sense) Long story short, we have decided not to go ahead - there will be a time when we know we want another and we will re access everything then. Thank you everyone for your opinions and advice :)

Thank you all. He has kongs, squeak balls, has wading pool, rawhide, a sandpit, the list goes on! U have all helped me. I think we need more time to work with him. He is very well socialized, would he still appreciate another dog and a play friend say 1 year down the track?

Rebanne he did for a while with the chooks, they are now not in his area. He has also learnt now not up go near the animals on the farm although he wants to

Oh and I should also point out that I'm not very good at making decisions that involve ' big things' lol I can't even bring my self to buy a new car that we need because it is such a big decision ( loan, debt etc ) lol I over think everything!

Thank you everyone. Spud is about a year now so still very much a puppy . He is a very well trained little boy though and trainning is a priority for us. He is incredibly bored wheb we are not around and he try's to play with the chickens, the horses, the cows, anything. He entertains him self by chewing- sticks, chairs, clothing. ( puppy behaviors I know :) ) We have both grown up in an always 2 dog house hold and have seen the love 2 dogs have for each other. This little one is from a shelter ( my work) as well so we would be potentially giving an abandoned dog a very loving home. I appreciate everyone's advice and opinions as I never ever thought getting another cute baby would be a hard decision

Looking for a bit of help and other people's advice I think.... My partner and I have had our dog spud for about 9 months now and he is the LOVE of our life. Words can not describe how much this dog means to us lol Now we both work full time and spud is at home by him self. When we get home we always make time for him, playing, walks, training etc. the fact is he is still at home by him self for 8 hours a day. when ever we go anywhere he comes with us. If we go to the tip he comes, the river, back home to see family ( 5 hours away) he comes. We are very much a family of 3. Other then us, spuds favorite thing in the world is other dogs- he just loves playing with them so so much. We have been thinking about getting another dog for a long time now and have gone to view a couple and have always come out thinking maybe we are just happy with our family of 3? We have just recently found another little one - about 4 months old. We took spud to meet her and they got along perfectly- loved each other and we loved her to. On the drive home my fiancé and I are both looking at each other thinking " is this the right thing to do?" So I guess once again we are just really undecided and I'm looking for some opinions please. ( finance for feeding, medical etc is not an issue as we always make sure we have funds for our animals)

Thank you, I think he's amazing but I'm a little bit biased lol He's a long haired jack Russell ( just doesn't have many spots lol ) he looks nothing like he does now lol I can't remember if he's a rough coat or wire hair. Ill post some more in the morning :)

Hi everyone. Yesterday I gave my 11year old schnauzer advantix as we have come down the coast. I have just noticed he has had a severe reaction to it. He has come out all over his body in welts and bruising. I think it's bruising, it's huge big blood red patches on his neck, stomach and ears.it is particularly bad on his shoulders and down his neck. I gave my other 2 the same dose and they are fine. He doesn't seem in pain or distressed by it but it's getting worse I rang the vet and they said to just monitor his breathing. Has anyone heard of this, have any ideas.? I'm so worried

Very angry at a friend but nothing more I can do. A friend of mine has recently told me they are getting another spoodle this puppy will be from a well-known puppy farm. I tried to tell her everything, sent her links, pictures, stories, everything explained it in full detail y she should not be supporting this breeder only to be left with the response of “ don’t tell me that stuff, it makes me so sad” She went to the breeders on the weekend to look at the dog - she came home so excited, telling me they were on a lovely farm and there were at least 50 dogs there playing and the cutest puppies ever and blah freaking blah! I had another rant at her and her response was “ well at least im saving her from that life by buying her” FFS! When will people learn Sorry, had to rant!

and imagine how much the puppy farmer is going to use this as well "get a puppy from the same place as the Australian Prime Minister" if she hadent already lost my vote... she just did again!
