What a dear little pup.

some breed fanciers deliberately don't want to be recognised by the ANKC. There are other registries out there. .

Wonderful; Cockers are so gorgeous.Do post some pictures when the pup arrives;Good Luck.!!

They are very high energy and need lots of training .Rather than going for the look of a dog try this.Let her read some dog breed profiles whithout knowing what breeds they are and see if she can pick some that fit what she wants in a dog then see what ones she likes the look of and narrow down from there. If she likes smooth coat and sighthound a Greyhound or whippet and perhaps look at a Vizsla. Some Vizsla are more layed back than others but still need a good long walk and run every day.
-
Another Cocker Spaniel .If she has had one before she will know what to expect. Also look at an American cocker Spaniel ;a bit more grooming though. A Corgi is a good idea too.Australian Terriers are great little dogs for older people as well.

Just like the dogs that bailes you up in the street while the owner in down the road carrying a leash;he tells you it's ok they are under effective voice control.

When my kids were little i was walking to kinder with pram and two little ones .The same route as usual when 2 Dobermann rushed up to a 4 foot front fence and went to town.Very very scary.I told the kids to not make eye contact as we crossed to the other side of the road. But really people should be able to walk the streets and feel safe. What if i'd had another dog with me,or continued past, would they have jumped the fence or not,how am i to know that. You may think your dog is friendly or wouldn't jump a fence but can you be 100%sure.Another time i see a Rottweiler in a front yard low brick fence i have to go the long way around to post a letter.Sure he may not have done anthing if i went past but was not going to test it.Why should people have to be scared and go out of their way because a dog owner can't secure their dogs behind a high enough fence. Fair enough if the front fence is a good height to keep the dog in and you can see they cannot get over but 4 foot and under for big agile dogs in not good enough. Our neighbour has a Standard Shnauzer and a Rottweiler and they are in the front yard often but there is an electric wire that keeps them well back from the fence so they bark but can't rush up to the fence or gate .

This is a worry there is an Anatolian x in a shelter down here that looks very similar..If people are after a LGD they need to research a lot and be sure what they are buying. .

My neighbours Stafford is an escape artist and was climbing trees and fences to escape when they went to work. They tied him up and he cried all day. They now leave him in when they are at work .I don't like dog parks and i wouldn't let a bull breed or most Terriers off lead let alone around strange dogs.If you are very keen to have a dog off lead in a dog park then consider a breed that is noted for being friendly with other dogs and train to good recall.

I could hear a womans voice when the dogs where barking. It sounded like they said be quiet. The sound gets louder like someone leaning in closer to the recorder as they made the sound.I watched a documentary once where they were listening to tapes of what was claimed to be a strange animal. The experts claimed the voice was human as they said animals don't make the AAHH sound only humans.Could be people got into your house.Has anything gone missing.?A camera may be a good option or change your locks.
