  1. Wonderful news ;Enjoy your new home Narla !
  2. Why? You have experience in large, powerful guarding breeds that are sharp as a knifes edge? You have experience in protection and dominant dogs? You have the power to choke off or slam down your own dog when it decides to have a go at you? No. Few people in Australia do. These romantic notions of nawwww I wanna breed the banned breeds BS sometimes makes me glad we DON'T have these dogs in the country. We're incapable of controlling the watered down stuff we have let alone strong breeds like this. BSL is crap yes, but 1) idiots keep breeding pound fodder and 2) people keep buying these dogs and then crying when they get seized. Yes it's the dog that suffers but we can't get the whole dog management thing through our thick heads in this country at all. We are miles behind a lot of western countries in training and management I think work on education before beating the same BSL is bad drum. .......good post Nekhbet.
  3. Thanks very much Wobbly !;Yes i can see the pictures now......Gorgeous pup Chris001 he looks like the one i met.
  4. I couldn't see the pictures on my computer.A few months back i met a guy walking his young Amstaff who was quite tall and slender almost Boxer like in the body. He said he was pure bred but didn't get the chance to ask about his breeder as i was too busy getting pats and smooches from this gorgeous friendly pup. I went home and did some research and came across a link about different body types of the Amstaff .When i looked through the breeders lists i noted a small number of dogs that had a similar more slender look to the one i met. Are all these 3 types shown ? I do like the tall slender type. http://www.cruisinke.../body_types.htm
  5. My local plant nursery have large dog statues but no greyhounds.Perhaps call some garden centres and ask if they have some or know a supplier who could make you one. , http://www.decorimpact.com.au/animals_2.html
  6. Yes was just going to say the same. http://www.ebay.com....ue&LH_PrefLoc=1
  7. That's an interesting link, especially including all size dogs. If I had a big apartment dog I would get a rough collie :D But for my 20 kilos worth I can have a herd of papillons Some of the comments on the link were interesting too.I had a neighbour with 2 Weimaraners in a unit with tiny yard.He took them on a long walk twice a day and training time and he told me they were relaxed in house the rest of the time. efs
  8. Here is a list of popular apartment dogs i found. http://archive.is/jYVK
  9. I would PTS .Sorry ..; ....A childs safety is number one.
  10. Perhaps buy some Dung Beetles. One house i lived at we had them and they made short work of a dog poo. . http://www.dungbeetl...processors.html
  11. That's awful....Those poor dogs.. ... look like they could hardly walk .Mindless twats who breed such dogs.
  12. If ?..My local pet shop have Neopolitan Mastiff crosses .I wonder if they will all end up in the right hands.
  13. They look like little Collie pups but I'm just guessing. Are they small pups or are they going to be big when older..?
  14. Maxie...Or name her whatever you like ;she will soon get used to her new name.
  15. So cute;more puppy cuddles ; you are so lucky ,and so are the pups for finding their way to you.
  16. So sorry ;very scary for everyone.Poor little girl getting dragged along the ground .I would also let the RSPCA know; they should rethink their adoption processes to make sure new owners are educated about dogs before they are adopting them.A lady i knew once adopted a very large dog from RSPCA knowing not much about dogs and took it home and left it inside with her 2 cats when she went to work. She came home to find the cats dead and the house trashed.Lucky she got home first before her kids got home from school.I wish people would research about dogs and what breeds would suit them before they consider getting one.
  17. Or you could give them to your local Op shop.
  18. Happy tears here too ;she's gorgeous,...
  19. I'm so happy that Gnarla has made good progress and the pups a doing well .You must have been so pleased when she greeted you with a tail wag. Give Gnarla a big hug from me. Names for pups.......Wilbur...Barney...Mosley...Dillon...Basil....Koda..Debo...Eddy...Toby...Bailey...Oscar.
  20. Take him for a Vet check up.I'm wondering if he may have a bit of Arthritis.Moving around in the day it would not be an issue but at night he may feel discomfort. A heated bed would be a good idea anyway and ask the Vet for something to help him relax and get off to sleep. As humans age they can have trouble sleeping and it can be the same with dogs.
  21. I think a Curly Coated Retriever would tick all the boxes for you...
