.....What a good dog......Next is bath time..can she turn on the taps.
-
My first thought was Lab x Golden too.If you got another pup you would not know what he / she would look like when they grew up . If you want a Golden retriever find a good breeder; health temperament should be your first priority .

Would a Bouvier des Flandres suit ? I know they can pull carts.

You'd rarely find a rescue that would adopt to an unfenced yard with a history of a dog being killed by a car. I think they should look at building a secure outside run. Yes;An outside run /secure yard is a must have;just too risky otherwise.Any breed of dog can wander off and you can't watch them every second. efs

An Australian Cattle Dog..They are very smart and adaptable.I had one in my teens, he was a great dog..You can get very good ones and some not so good; so find a good breeder who can match you with the right pup;

I have been researching about the IWS for my short list but there isn't a lot about them so i thought i would ask here. What are the grooming requirements for keeping them as a pet.? Any info about them would be great....Thanks..

http://www.caninecancer.com/Mast.html I agree with steve;If you want a Pug then look at the health of the pups parents and grand parents and diet and don't let the dog get overweight*.Same with any dog * My in laws had Australian Terriers for years with no major health issues one lived to 18 years.Also have a look at the Affenpinscher. I Love those black Pugs...:) Sorry you are going through this distress....

Still thinking of Eddie. -
MUP you have been ill and in hospital so your immune system is taxed atm ;that may contribute to the reaction.Don't let dogs lick you if you can.All my dogs were taught not to lick .If you are patting a dog and he tries to lick you say Ahh no! and stop patting they will soon get the idea .

My Rottie X Puppy Is Searching For A Home!
Purdie replied to lovemesideways's topic in Dog Rescue (General Rescue Discussion)
They have his mum in care, so are sure on that account! NO idea what the rest is though His sister looks like a Labrador x! I thought he may have some Labrador in the mix that's why i said Lab x earlier but he is a mix so large mix breed sums it up. Agree what others have said about his info being short and to the point.when i look at profiles i want to know how the dog is with other dogs and cats;what training he has and if he has been around children . -

Another bump for Eddie. -
Good on you for seeking advise and being willing to learn more.Your dogs don't sound like a good match for having pups.Also you would have trouble finding homes for them all as there are so many Staffordshire pups and their crosses in pet shops and animal shelters.Have your boyfriend look on line at the shelter lists around Australia and you will see the majority are staffy breeds and their crosses.How would he feel if a pup he bred ended up in the pound. Get your dogs desexed asap and enjoy them for the wonderful pets they are.The idea of helping with pups in rescue is a good one. Can you not desex a bitch while she is still on heat or is it better to wait a few weeks?? I've heard of it being done .

Also worth looking at the Flat coated Retriever.
-
Stafford x Ridgeback is a common cross so maybe that will do for this little girl.

A vote here for a Whippet.Also look at the Miniature Pinscher.
