Food Issues, Struvite Crystals And Allergies..

Have you thought about trying a RAW diet with her? She sounds to have similar symptoms to my girl, she also had high pH urine and serious case of the itchies as well as tummy upset after tummy upset. I changed her to RAW at 7 months of age and saw big improvements. I haven't looked into raw as yet.. I will do that. We did try her on a hypoallergenic diet for a week or so, and she didn't go to well on it, runny stool and vomiting - maybe it was introduced to quickly to her, or it was the rice that was a problem. Diet below: White rice, cooked 175 grams Vegatable Oil 10 grams (2 teaspoons) Meat Source cooked* 115 grams Iodized Salt or Potassium Chloride (Lite Salt) 1.2 grams (π teaspoon) Add Vitamin/Mineral supplements for dogs (ie. Vetbasix)-dose according to dogs weight Braise the meat and drain the fat. Boil the rice separately. Combine all ingredients and mix well. Water, not milk, can be added if the mixture is too dry. *The meat source must be one that the dog has NEVER eaten before. Some examples include venison, lamb, rabbit, turkey, duck, salmon and horse. Hypoallergenic diet didn't do much for Abbey corrected stools but that was about it. What type of mince are you cooking? beef? beef can be an issue for a dog with sensitivities. Try eliminating grains, turkey is good for sensitive dogs and try giving spinach and kale etc.. Honestly I feel your pain I've been trough a fair bit with Abbey in her first 18 months I honestly only now feel like I'm stable with her allergies, mine on the other hand oh my god why is there so much pollen this week I haven't stopped sneezing. -

Wil another option might be contacting a canine naturopath like canine vitality http://caninevitality.com.au/ I recently got some stuff off her for Abbey as although her skin is okay at the moment she is still having breakouts which make her miserable. -

They have lots of different designs. on the website there is an tag that says "good dog" and they have some great fabrics. I am actually finding that the natural coloured mock lambswool isn't showing any hair at all and Hugo is the same colour as a dally (most people think he IS a dally!). I really like this colour/design http://www.gooddog.net.au/sorrento/ My aunt brought the Sorrento for her yellow lab, it looks great.

Another fan of Snooza here, my old girl had the buddy bed out of the good dog range which she loved. And my new pup Abbey has had a buddy bed from when she was 5 months. She loves it as you can see and they wash so well!

Hip/ Leg Issue With 7 Month Old Lab
Tara8430 replied to timberlands's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Also make sure she is resting and not playing for a couple of days - complete rest (yes that's hard especially at that age) :) -
Thats happened to us before as well when we first took abbey to the beach, I was mad feel guilty for attracting another persons dog because I had Abbey on long line leash if you don't have 100% trust of your own dogs recall you shouldn't be made to feel bad for having your dog on a leash. Doesn't sound like the other dog was under control, I would have been nervous and angry myself.

2boxer, on 05 June 2013 - 10:59 PM, said: My old boy had the same, his spleen was removed after it ruptured. We did not do chemo. After recovering from surgery, he had a very happy three months, where he was spoilt rotten. He suddenly collapsed and had to be pts. But those last three month were very happy for him! Same again here, my old girl black lab was 14 when here spleen ruptured, unfortunately it was cancer and it went through her bloodstream. We had her spleen removed and she came back so well for 5 months, even got back to walking nearly 1km she was a very determined dog, but then she had a bleed somewhere in her system became anaemic and had to be given her wings, so she was 14 1/2 year old black lab. Hardest thing I've ever been through. All the best woofles he's such a cutie pie.

Same here... Would love to know how she is doing, and you too grommit.
-
Yes poor little baby, hope she will be okay.
-
Poor Jovie they would have made her ears very irritated and sore, lucky they didn't get infected. I was worried Abbey had one in her paw the other night but it must have been something else that irritated it.
-
Aww poor little thing, my girls have had the occasional woof and run but that's about it.

I ordered a Patio Link door last week for Abbey, it arrived yesterday haven't undone it yet but they are of very high standards, my aunt has had one for her dog for over a year now and it still looks like new.
