I'm officially waiting on my black girl (Labrador), got confirmation last night. Have to ring and chat with the breeder today, ill ask for a picture apparently their eyes arnt open yet only heading for 2 weeks old.

Glad to see this, i was wanting to know this as well. Would love to stay home for weeks with the new pup cause there only little for such a short time but wouldnt then want to have it expect me to be home 24/7 forever cause that would only cause problems.....

Fingers crossed its nothing Talien. One of my breeders dogs were bitten by a black snake 5 times last week thats why i hadnt heard from her, shes been having a hell of a time.

Spoke to my breeder yesterday, they had 4 pups. She said she prefers to wait till there over 10 days old before committing them to anyone so i am still waiting to hear if she chooses me to have one, apparently she has a bit of a list of people that want one off her and being a small litter makes me nervous. Fingers crossed The wait seems like forever....

Yeah, if the breeder ever gets back to me Communication seems to be lacking somewhat, i would be really irritated but their a really reputable breeder with really good dogs. Argh frustration if only i had a phone contact for them i would just call.

Oh i always forget about the puppy chewing, shows how long it's been ;) Im going to have to be careful when i get a new lab, my girl was a huge chewer as well, how quickly you forget.

My last lab was always hot, she had a very thick coat. We ended up getting her one of those cooling mats, dont know if you've seen them: http://www.mypet.net.au/CanineCooler.htm It doesnt feel overly cold when you just touch it but when the dog lays on it it makes them cool, it worked for my old girl.
