  1. Hi all, I have a 20kg puppy bag of black hawk that I brought when I was down in Sydney last time that I can't use or get back to sydney to return. If anyone would be interested I can get it to bathurst orange or dubbo standard price, just don't want to see it go to waste.

  3. Awww you like to think that is the way it is
  4. Ive got an itchy scratchy puppy at the moment too, no sign of fleas, no redness, but dropping hair like its coming into summer. Ive had enough im taking her to the vet tomorrow to work out whats going on.
  5. That what i was thinking too, he's a happy looking fella :)
  6. I cant believe this topic has come up..... i was thinking about mentioning it the other week but thought i might have been seen as a bit silly. My last Labrador Sheba would in her later years love to lay in a spot beside my bed, when i would be out she would lay there it was like her little way of being close to me. A couple of weeks ago now i could have sworn she had been laying there as i slept, it felt like i could just reach down and touch her. It felt so real i cant explain it. She passed in July 2011. My mum also had a dream which she said felt so real, they were in the laundry (Sheba always used to help mum with the laundry) and Sheba brought mum this little black pup with a bright pink belly. And well now i have miss Abbey a Black Labrador pup which loves nothing more to come into the laundry and flop on her back and get you to rub her pink belly. So thats my story.....
  7. I dont have a bob a lot ive got Abbey a Kong Wobbler but same principle, i put her kibble in it but the Black Hawk is way to small, so she gets a bit of broken biscuit, liver, banana chips, carrot. She doesnt get much in it but i just make sure there is always one big bit that wont come out no matter what she tries.
  8. I have a male and a female (both desexed) here at the moment and it is only her urine that is doing it. They are on exactly the same diet... Nutro kibble, barf patties and a bone or turkey neck.. That is pretty much all they eat apart from training treats (and again, I use the same treats for both)... I will get some of the rock things and give them a go... Thanks Here's a link about it.... http://aggie-horticulture.tamu.edu/archives/parsons/turf/dog_lawn_problems.html
  9. I cant imagine they would last long with my girl either....
  10. Apparently it has alot to do with the dogs diet. High protein kibbles for example, the dogs system converts the protein into nitrogen which is what burns the lawn. You can imagine pooring on undiluted fertilizer onto your lawn, it would kill it, same goes here. As Su has mentioned below trying to wet the patches (when and where possible) reduces this problem.
  11. Rug up and walk in the dark, just hate that you cant see what is on the ground for them to pick up as much. I need to get Abbey a coat actually coming into winter, anyone have any recommendations? I want her to be able to walk in it when it gets really cold here.
  12. My last lab had one of those also, not quite as big but the vet said it was a wart, it never got any bigger and didnt cause her any trouble.
  13. I also don't feed what it says on the bag, my 6 month old labrador pup gets 1 cup in morning and 1 cup at night plus 50gm meat. She might get a bit more in her kong wobbler during the day but it seems to keep. Her quite full unlike eucanuba which she was still screaming for food after 1 & 1/2 cups morning and night. I think it's more seeing how your dog responds, if he/she isnt putting on heaps of weight or looking too skinny just amend your quantities.
  14. Yeah I did mix it with her last kibble for a week or so gradually changed her over. I'm thinking now it might have been a skin irritation now, I'll just keep monitoring. she loves her BH and is much better on it. She's does get other treats but nothin else new has been introduced recently.
  15. I had the same problem with my GR, I started mixing in another brand of food with the idea to change her, but went back to BH without changing her entirely to anything else...she seems fine now, I think it must have just been a season type thing Ok well maybe i should just cut back the BH for a week or so and see what happens. Ive checked her skin and given her a bath and i cant see anything and this has been the only major change to her diet and they say it takes a couple of weeks to get into their system properly. Fingers crossed i have the same outcome.
  16. Yeah it would be such a shame if it is, becuase she is much better on it (obviously appart from the itching if it is related).
  17. Hi All, Abbey has been on her black hawk for atleast 3 weeks i would say and has in the past week become really scratchy, ive checked her skin and cant see anthing do you think there would be anychance she might be irritated a bit by something in the kibble? Could i be food allergy?
  18. Thanks, thats not too far from me, might go check it out.
  19. Abbeys favorite (and only filling I've tried) is banana yoghurt and kibble frozen...... Although she has worked out if she leaves it in the sun goes and gets up to mischief and comes back its nice and melted and easy to eat...... Damn smart Labradors
  20. Holly hell I would have been exactly the same
  21. Totally agree there. Abbey picked up a tennis ball in the pet shop the other day but only because they were in a tub on the floor right at her level, no slobber got in off her right away so we put it back. We work on our 'leave it' principals when in the pet shop.;) She just thinks she should be allowed into any shop now though....she would especially like to visit the pizza shop when we walk down town
