Vets All Natural - Perfect Puppy Nutrition
Tara8430 replied to Dr Bruce Syme's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Have sent you guys ( vets all natural ) a enquiry via your website, do you know how long a response normally takes, I have to make my girl some more food this week and am thinking of incorporating your products but not sure which ones. -
Maybe talk to these guys www.holisticanimalmedicines.com/ I brought some stuff off them last week and have been fixing up my girl who has skin issues at the moment.

Thanks! He does love to be admired. :D I do struggle with what to feed him though. Even though I think most of his allergies are contact allergies, I still play it safe with diet. I tend to feel like you pay so much for such grain heavy foods too. Dry foods are really convenient, but I don't want my dog to be on a long term diet with so much more grains than meat. I end up paying about $10 - 20 more per bag for orijen than I would for others like Hill's or Royal Canin. I really think I'm going to switch to a complete raw diet soon. It does annoy me how my very reputable vet gives me very dissaproving look and tells me not to mess around with raw. I'm pretty sure I can feed my dog a healthy balanced raw diet consisting of much better ingredients that most of the food on his self. I certainly plan to do my research so he won't miss out any any nutrients. Funny you mention that Aphelion, when i started this topic i was feeling very frustrated with how Abbey has been on kibble, she has not had much energy and has been feeling very average. My vet wanting to put Abbey on a Hills Prescription diet for a food elimination diet, which i dont like, i dont want her to go near a Hills product as from what ive heard once they are on it they are on it for life. Anyway i have cut her off from kibble completely putting her on raw pattys and oh my i have my pup back, she is wanting to play, she is being silly and she is sleeping much better, and to me thats pretty clear that eating raw is making her feel much much better. And yes vets do tend to look at you as if your mad and god knows my breeder would be disgusted but they arnt seeing her everyday and seeing how she is i am. So now i have probably 7kgs of Pro Plan Sensitive Skin and Stomach that i wont be using.... oh well. Oh and yes your dog is very cute, what breed is he? He looks like a big teddy bear :)

Oh okay yeah I know over towards robin hood that's not far away from me but I don't usually walk over that way. Someone I work with leaves off that way and I'll mention it to them tomorrow. Someone's obviously got sick of dogs in the areas and has turned into a sick o Makes me so cranky. Aww your boy looks sweet, how old is he? my black lab is 1.
-
Yeah I wouldn't ever let Abbey off lead I stress to much, but yeah I would say she has 'leave it' to about 85%. But it only takes that 1% for you and the dog to be in trouble. What Park is near you? I only walk Abs CBD and in Cook park. Are you a lab owner as well?
-
Oh shit that freaks me out completely, thanks so much for the heads up LisaCC. Teebs, ask if they are putting it in the paper?
-
My ol girl (black lab also) also found anything out of the can an insult  oh and it seemed the more expensive the kibble the more i found hidden under hear bed in her kennel i dont know how she did it She loved her food just not out of a can and dont pay too much beats me.

Is any one here on Proplan Sensitive Skin and Stomach? What have your dogs been like on it? It seems to be making Abbey a bit slugish and shes put on a 1kg since being on it and thats with me not feeding as much as suggests on the bag. Im thinking of trying her on Royal Canin or Nutro now... or canidae really im just not sure what to try

Hi all, I'm am just curious which seems to be the most popular choice for DOL dogs when it comes to dry food. (apologies if this has been done before I looked but couldn't find anything)
-
My girl has that one too, buddy bed in silver and black paws, and i got the lambs wool cover for in winter which then she didnt want the original cover back on (actually she refused to get in it without the lambs wool cover!) My girl loves her comfort

Has Anyone Ever Tried Any Products From....
Tara8430 posted a topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Hi All, Just wondering if anyone has ever tried any products from http://www.holisticanimalmedicines.com/ -
Here's the dosage rates http://www.ingleburnvet.com.au/antihistamines.htm
-
I only buy snooza, bono fido is my only other choice.
-
yes she did!!!! I didnt go through all the pages before listening, bloody wish i would have jeezzz
-
omg wish i hadnt listened to that with headphones on
-
I wouldnt be worried at 5 months, my girl who is 13 months, had 1 season is just starting to thicken out and look more stocky english labrador. Honestly just keep feeding what your breeder recommended and im sure once she is 12 months + and had a season she will fill out nicely.
-
I also found changing the shampoo sometimes makes a difference, i changed Abbey from Aloveen which i have always loved to Fido's Tea Tree, her coat came up 110% better than on Aloveen i couldnt believe it and she actually smelt cleaner longer. Its whatever works for your dog, but just thought id share.

Ive had my girl (black lab) on megaderm, its brought most of coat up nice, im still struggling with the bits she chewed while on Black Hawk. http://www.vetnpetdirect.com.au/MEGAD 15mls each night, i just finished the big 1L botttle, it lasted about 2 months.

Oh my god BCCrazy that is exactly the same as what is wrong with my girls coat. Really wiry and dull, and she still has like 3 spots which are short and really red and coppery. She. How long has sonny been off the BH? I've put Abbey onto proplan sensitive skin and stomach which seems to be helping but I think I'm going to have to shave these bits of hair back they just won't grow. My vet said food intolerance, but Abbeys problems all started when she was on the BH. I have been trying everything to get Abbey back to pre BH days but geezz the itching and biting she did has really caused some problems. I'll have to post some pictures of her coat so you can compare. I'll try and get her en the suns on it tomorrow.

Did you get the sensitive skin complete mix? How itchy were your dogs before you started it?

Yep, my Naturopath said one a day. She has over 40 years' experience with horses, dogs and people. You could go to the Blackmores website and 'ask a Naturopath' online. It's free :) Thanks!

Out of curiousity persephone how do chiropractic adjustments help the itchies? I was wondering if acupuncture might help with the sensitive areas. Yes i knew about that epsom salts can cause the runs, im wondering if you just sponge it on the itchy spots if it would help, the only worry i guess is if they bite where you have sponged? My girl has the strangest itchy spots, below her shoulders on her back, not redness on her stomach or feet or face? I dont know if shes going under something in the yard and it only gets on her back and causes the irritation. Ive been trialing claratyne and phernergan, vet wants to do blood test for allergies but i just dont know if its worth it if its a contact allergy it wouldnt turn up anyway would it? Only food allergies?
