  1. Oh gosh, devine photos. At least I think they were through teary vision! What a gorgeous old boy and a gorgeous young lady. How I wish I had wonderful photos like this of past dogs I've loved. Thanks for sharing :)
  2. They look so great! Sid's a little machine isn't he. He does everything a Frenchie is supposedly unable to do. :D Lola's a little cutie too, her tail looks quite long when it's uncurling. Do you have one of those flags to show them where the steps are, or they pool experts now?
  3. That's very sweet and definitely a good ending, but I was a bit shocked he seemed to basically ignore his little dog while it was jumping up and down on his leg. What the! I think I would have been rolling on the floor hugging it and crying or at least picking it up for a cuddle! You could see he was happy but hard to tell if it was over winning or getting his dog back
  4. How could someone be running a school, yet be so far out of reality she refuses (even now) to accept limbs rotting off her pets isn't something she should be concerned about?? I don't understand how someone with that mental damage could hold down a high powered job?? I also don't understand why the son couldn't have just taken the dogs to get help himself. Clearly his mother wasn't dealing with their problems the poor little tykes
  5. I read this and can't help but wonder - we chose to create a breed with such short legs it's tail drags on the ground, and then we blame any injuries on the fact we can't remove its tail rather than poor design on our behalf. Wouldn't a sensible solution be to breed for lengthened legs (to lift the tail from the ground) if the dogs health is being affected? I'm sure that won't happen because the stubby legged look is liked, but this type of issue makes me wonder about the human races thought process and priorities at times
  6. A lady at my work has a Jug and it is not the cutest dog I've ever seen. Each breed separately I love but together they do not seem to make cute babies! She has behaviour related issues with hers because of lack of training though.
  7. Then again it might just be breeders themselves not liking the look of the breed with tails and breeding less! There's an article about this in the daily mail which has one 30 year Pembroke breeder citing that as the reason. Daily mail article The article also said the Queens first corgi Susan was used to produce many pups, some of which were mated with Dachshunds to produce Dorgi's, of which the Queen still has two of now! That can't be setting the best example for purebred corgis, or purebred anything you'd think? It also says people are starting to realise there are 210 breeds of dogs and are doing more research to find their choice for a dog.
  8. Sorry for butting in, but this behaviour is something Im curious about because my Frenchie Maggie does it too. She's nearly 3 and has been like this since she was 8 months (when I got her). She's quite a submissive dog and only chews or eats when I'm home. I can leave bones or her favourite chew items with her when I go to work and they're still in exactly the same spot when I get home. Sometimes she'll greet me with one in her mouth and do a little parade in front of me like 'look how good I was not eating this'. She'll more than likely trot off and eat the item then but doesn't try to sit near me to do it. I feel sorry for her that she doesn't chew things to keep herself occupied while alone all day (but at least I know she's not chewing things she shouldn't!). How do you determine whether its controlling or submissive behaviour?
  9. Im so glad! You and your beautiful little dog deserve some good news
  10. Awwww, look at the tiny bubba! Love the photo of the large wrinkly hand holding the tiny little foot. Love the close up of the Zebra but the bird photo is just spectacular! You could count every feather if you wanted. Thanks for sharing :D
  11. Sigh...just amazing! They're all so good but I love that last one. It's amazing when there's a dark background how much the picture pops! Hopefully they're letting you in free now :D
  12. Wow, how lovely of her. She's a keeper! What about double movie tickets? Not too expensive but will give her (and a friend) a chance to relax when she has time?
  13. Wow!! Love how the lady bug is holding an aphid for later while she munches on another one lol.
  14. Gorgeous! Those roses are just divine, they look beautiful. Your property looks very lush and green too, lucky thing :D
  15. Border terriers I believe have very few health problems. There are some known problems but they are quite rare and when I read through each breeder listed on DOL, none mention any genetic or X-ray type testing. Hopefully that's a good thing.
  16. Wow...such great shots. How cute is the curious baby starting to explore away from his parents! Wonderful shots, thanks for sharing :)
  17. It's probably autocorrect changing the word illegal in the sentence. I think they're trying to say 'it is illegal in Victoria to offer more rent'
  18. Personally I'd be asking first. It could save going through the heartbreak of choosing and paying for a puppy only to find the real estate ask you to move because you're in breach of lease. If you write a letter maybe you could ask your neighbours to write a small note each about how quiet/well behaved your current dog is to help the cause? Maybe when stating the ways you're a responsible pet owner you could add how you'll be avoiding puppy chew damage etc If they still say no, I guess you have a whole lot of new decisions coming your way! Good luck with your new addition :D
  19. Gus does this. Oh it's vile! And then he just wants to kiss... Agreed! My dog waits patiently for the cat to finish pooing then roots around in the kitty litter to find her scrumptious morsel . Sometimes I'll catch her and say 'what are you doing!' and she looks at me innocently with kitty litter stuck all over her muzzle. Good luck with the Tabasco sandwich today...hopefully all the humans in the house know the sandwich is booby trapped
  20. Could you set him up to have an unpleasant experience maybe? Take everything off the bench and put double sided sticky tape over the bench top? Might need more than one go but hopefully it feels yucky and he's put off doing it.
  21. That's so awesome! It's a shame the old wives tail which says if you touch a baby bird the parents will abandon it is so well known. There would probably be so many babies parents would have continued to care for had they been given the chance. What you've done is so cool.
  22. I'm so sorry to hear that. Mr Wilson was gorgeous and I hope you'll be ok without his companionship. Some pets just fit our lives so well, and we theirs. Hang in there and take care of yourself.
  23. That was interesting, I can't believe Ravens can live for up to 30 years! I've lost ducklings to crows before and Maggie has lost meaty bones to them but luckily nothing more than that. I think they're pretty opportunistic so I wouldn't put it past them to attempt stealing something beyond their capabilities.
  24. Same! Almost better than the real thing because you can see detail you'd miss with the naked eye. I didn't realise Zebra had two different coloured stripes on their rump until I saw the photo of them. Just fabulous, thanks so much for sharing them :)
