  1. People are allowed to desex their pet Willem. Without knowing the dogs environment, temperament, and how much training he'll be given, it's a responsible decision to make. Having not had an entire male dog before I searched on common behavioural problems. Maybe he/she wants to lessen the chance of inappropriate urination or marking, dominance aggression, fighting between dogs, territorial aggression, escaping, roaming and inappropriate sexual behaviour? There's also other bozo's wanting to breed from your dog if they notice he's entire and the worry of theft. Unless an owner is prepared to input careful training to ensure an entire dog stays a pleasant pet, he may end up in the pound like other entire dogs which then get desexed??
  2. Your photo's are just gorgeous! What a glorious start to the day.
  3. What a gorgeous face! How do they see through that hair though?
  4. They look AMAZING!! I think one of the doctors at my work might have that drone. Can you set it to 'follow me' and it will trail behind you while you're on a bike or walking?
  5. I think its great you have a plan and you're making an effort to work on different things with your pup. I do agree it would be worth changing pups alone time to different parts of the day so no habits form though and definitely increasing it if you are getting closer too returning to work. As hard as it is being home and not with them, avoid separation anxiety is the name of the game. Remember to leave pup with things to keep him occupied and when you leave and return it should be a non event, as in you may not even talk to pup for a couple of minutes until he is calm and hopefully distracted. Pups who enjoy attention from people and other dogs can definitely end up seeing you as the less exciting option. It's difficult when people want to pay attention to a cute puppy but if this is working against you, maybe try socialising in other places too? You want pup exposed to new places, sights, sounds and (safe) ground textures but in a positive way. Until fully vaccinated pick the ground you put pup on carefully..no high traffic areas. Have you found Kikopup on youtube? She has tons and tons of puppy videos on things you can train which are super useful to the adult your dog will become. There are so many great sites available, here's a couple to get your going: Glasgow dog trainer Victoria Stilwell Denise Fenzi Denise currently has a free video showing 8 days worth of play\training with her puppy!! (This will help with focus) Karen Pryor - Puppy training Also if you can get yourself 'Crate games' by Susan Garrett - this is just awesome. Teaches self control, recall, confidence, sit\stay, distance work and distraction training. Good luck with your pup, a photo of him would be fantastic (hint hint)
  6. Great photos. You've caught the eyes on each dog in the bottom photo...nice work!
  7. OMG! I hope you have it sleeping beside you at night!! Please, please share your first photos with us?
  8. Hey, don't sell yourself short, they're great photos! Sorry to hear you had your camera stolen but Im glad it turned in to a benefit for you lol
  9. Im really enjoying these video's, the Composition one alone has been incredibly helpful. Thanks again Piper!
  10. Im also food motivated...does that count? lol
  11. Same! That's a great photo of him too. Seems the dingo's are busy out your way lol!
  12. I went back through the photos trying to find him too, but must have missed it. Poor little man. Have most of the new owners gone on who they think is cute, or tried to go on personality?
  13. Your photo's of Jerry are absolutely heart warming. Thanks for sharing and for the work you do with these dogs in need. Hopefully Dyson can find someone who can utilise his brain a bit more!
  14. That looks like dog paradise! Great photos, she's very photogenic
  15. I think it is but yours is a bit more up market than mine. I have a hooman pillow in the cushion part and Spotlight stuffing in the inserts. I could only afford the cover and just stuffed it myself. Saved quite a bit of money though! Sometimes if I'm laying near the dogs having a scratch and I put my head on the side of their bed I think gawd this is more comfortable than my bed!
  16. I have some pics of bed in action.. Lol
  17. Awww, its my Orvis buddy! I'm so glad you still love them. I feel like an Orvis salesman sometimes when people ask about beds lol. I also can't get over how well made they are, how well they handle being washed and especially how they handle my two playing on and under them constantly. I want another one but I can see this one lasting forever!
  18. What about writing a letter with some hints and tips for them? If they don't make a change I would keep a diary on when the noise occurs and for how long and take it to the council as a noise complaint. No one should have to live with a constant annoying noise like that. Good luck
  19. How would you suggest the Australian population be re-educated then? Maybe take some suggestions to those who can do something about it? Keeping in mind the majority of pet owners are unwitting? lazy and uneducated on carrying for different species anyway. Some think buying an expensive food makes them a responsible owner, some couldn't care if their dog is on supermarket food. Some don't desex because they can't afford to, and some don't so they can make money from a litter of puppies. What could be used to incentivise these people to suddenly start intensive training?
  20. I didn't think the price was too extreme considering how few of them there are. I did wonder why they're selling pups to the general public at this point though? In all my experience (not) I figured you would keep pups close to home as such to keep future breeding prospects available while they're still so new?
  21. I noticed this ad on you know where. $5000 per puppy. I wonder if they'll become the new French Bulldog because of their rarity? No mention from the seller about selling desexed so who knows. Pretty cute puppy though. Many years ago before I realised they weren't in Australia they were on my wish list so one day..who knows? :) "Australia's first purebred Coton de Tulear litter. No smell, no shedding, easy to care for coat, highly intelligent, easy to train, gets on with other pets, great family pet, especially for allergy sufferers and special needs families"
  22. Please excuse the derailing Willem but had to share a picture of my Dad's cows. Its a photo of an old photo but do anything in the paddock and they'll come over and stand in a semi circle around you to see what you're doing.
  23. That video is very cute! Cows are super curious creatures and seem to get their bravery by investigating as a group. They must love something different happening in or near their boring old paddock lol.
