  7. I don't use much kibble so break the bag in to four lidded containers and these all sit inside a larger tub. Each container isn't exposed to air until Im ready to use it so I just hope the kibble is still freshish by then.

    What's This?

It's good your breeder is being supportive. Did you have your own vet check him as well? Assuming its an umbilical hernia they can be complicated if any intestine is entrapped and do need an operation to put things back where they should be. I was reading most hernias are hereditary and pets with them shouldn't be bred. Hopefully breeding wasn't in your boys' future.

    What's This?

Im not sure but what did your vet say when you took him for his check up? If you haven't yet, I strongly recommend you do in case they find a health issue with him you weren't aware of. Good luck with him :)
  14. My dog and I had heaps of fun out of the ebook 51 Puppy Tricks by Kyra Sundance (and Jadie). You can download a sample from Kindle to see the index of tricks but the book is $13.12 to buy. It covers things like Respond to clicker, Touch my hand Watch me Settle Kennel up Come Stay Loose leash walk Find me Crawl Put toys in toy box Which hand holds the treat The list of cool tricks goes on and on! She provides great insight in to training a pup via luring or shaping and she also has a book 101 dog tricks which uses the same dog model but as an adult. I highly recommend it :)
  15. Great perspective and great photo's. Its just a beautiful time of year isn't it. One of my favorite months :)
  16. I did some searching on owning a dog in Sweden and found this (clearly a few years old but possibly laws haven't changed much): Swedish Dog Registry A little over two years ago, Sweden passed a law declaring that all dogs must be marked and recorded. All dogs living in Sweden must be marked with a unique identification number that is linked to Agriculture’s central dog register. There must also be information about who owns the dog. The law was put in place because of problems with aggressive and dangerous dogs. The idea was that it should be easy to find out who owns a dog that acts aggressively or is a stray or seems ill. According to law, the police, the provincial governments and Customs all have access to data in the registry. The dog can be marked with a tattoo or a microchip but if you are going to travel with your dog, it must be marked with microchip. It’s easy to register the dog on the website and it only costs 70 kronor (approx. $10.50) to register a dog. As an individual, you can search for a dog in a dog registry online services if you have the dog’s tattoo or microchip information. If the owner has blocked their information from being made public, you can only see the dog’s information. If you need contact information for a dog owner who does not appear, you can contact the Dog Register customer service at the Swedish Board of Agriculture. Pet passport Dogs, cats, and ferrets (!) that travel within the Eurpoean Union (EU) must have a pet passport. The veterinarian notes all treatments the pet has had in the passport. Before any a note to the passport, the veterinarian checks that the identity number (microchip) of the animal is the same as the one in the passport. This is also a double-check that the identity marking is still readable. There are 165, 661 owners of mixed breeds in Sweden and 187, 933 mixed breed dogs registered. There are 4563 owners of boxers and 5424 boxers. Let’s compare that with a less-well known breed, the Bluetick Coonhound. There are just 5 owners of blueticks in Sweden and there are just five blueticks. 19. Wow, that would be a sight to see!
  20. Gosh Willem, maybe you could find fault with someone who isn't actually awesome with their dog? Its clear this is a really important topic for you, but using guilt tripping to control someone else's behaviour never usually ends with them doing what you want?
