I heard on the radio they gave them suggested names to change to. I only remember two because they were so ridiculous. Hunters and Collectors of...antiques and Hunters and Collectors of...beer cans! Surely a publicity stunt which makes the group look likes fools is not in their best interest?

Holy Moly!

Blasphemy PK! I too grew up with this band and my only claim to fame is seeing them live a few times and once hanging out with them after a show. I don't think I slept for a week after that They're really down to earth country blokes and it was a sad day indeed when they broke up

Great photos, thank you for sharing. Happy dogs right there!
-
No I can't see them either? How did you attach them @Miss Squish?
-
Gosh they're just gorgeous. I bet they are sooo soft and silky!
-
Everyone's dogs are gorgeous! Nice to see Nova again too, he is such a photogenic dog! (Unlike my two who are either rushing the camera or looking like Im the biggest meanie if I try and get a nice shot in a sit stay). Sorry for the weird lighting but this photo is a good indication of their characters.. always hanging out and playing. Poppy loves showing her ferocious teeth but it accompanies a weird high pitched groaning which makes her lose her fierceness lol.

What the teekay. That is amazing!! Canetoad, I love the photo of the gorgeous oldie with his human. Just lovely. Mine is a sunset the other night from the top of my driveway. It was incredible how the light shifted in minutes and it just faded away to nothing before my eyes.

Puppy Culture Rotti Puppies - Photos & Vids Galore
Roova replied to Starkehre's topic in General Dog Discussion
She's beautiful and looks in great condition! Im loving the Puppy Culture Discussion Group facebook page. I probably won't ever be a breeder but I really enjoy seeing the effort everyone goes to with their puppies. It does kind of ruin you for wanting a puppy from any other breeder though! -
@persephonethank you for saving the poor honey eaters! @~Anne~ your babies are just gorgeous! Are their personalities still changing or are they pretty solid now?
-
Smoke....or a local wolf you happened to get a shot of lol? What a gorgeous shot! @Scottsmum you parks are waaaaay nicer the ones I have around me! Is that a wild flower or something deliberately planted?

I would be careful adding bits and pieces to his diet and having pup leave the kibble which is nutritionally balanced. If he's eating raw with gusto maybe try a premade raw which is balanced for you already or a combination of kibble\raw? If you create your own raw diet you need to provide a certain percentage of meat, offal, sinew, muscle, and bone. The percentage doesn't have to be met each day but over the course of a week (which is why premade is so convenient). While you're offering bits here and there and your pup is filling up on it, it will eventually lead to him being nutrient deficient. One of the leading causes of malnutrition vets see is from home made diets which aren't nutritionally complete.

@teekay you model is beautiful with the richest coloured eyes! Thank you for your camera settings too, it always helps to know what an expert thought to use, although I know there's waaay more to a good photo than what the camera is set to. @denali a new 70-200 f2.8 whoo hoo!! That's an exciting event, let alone using it on a trip haha. I have a crappy one I was using on the weekend and I felt like every breath made the camera shake lol. Are you hand holding or going between this and a tripod? My photo for the week just gone is of an interaction I saw in a neighbours yard. A Kookaburra was using an aerial to take a look around but a local peewee was not happy to have him there. Notice the ugly ass phone tower we now have to enjoy the view of and it's not even that close to us

I was going to suggest he was teething but if you're mixing puppy milk through the dry and its softened then that can't be the case. How much dry are you offering each time? Also what is your biggest worry, that he's losing condition, or he's not eating as much as you'd like? Re feeding raw. I agree its a healthier option but you don't have to concoct you own diet if you don't want to, premade raw is pretty simple to feed as you can freeze the packages and defrost before use. I'm not sure I agree with the idea that dry and raw can't be fed together though, food is food and I would have thought no different to bone being digested with meat. Maybe you could start with 1/2 a chicken frame and supervise him while eating? The whole lot will get chewed and demolished with gusto Im sure. Its not only great for their health\teeth and gums but good enrichment (Don't be freaked if his poo turns whitish though, extra calcium can do that).

Cute monkey denali, the DOF looks really interesting! Its a shame we can't see camera selections made when looking at photos on here.

I have some thoughts when reading the above but could be applying them out of context as I am no expert! Regarding the sentence's " I don't particularly agree with the whole "would you like a reward?" I see it more as "I've nicely asked you to do something, and I expect you listen, respect, and if you're a good girl you'll get a reward" . Also the sentence "I don't think I was asking too much for the puppy to sit and stay while I moved through the door without having a treat on the ready". Reinforcement is anything which immediately follows a behaviour and serves to maintain or increase the frequency of that behaviour in the future. Understanding reinforcement (and competing reinforcers) allows a better understand of an animals behaviour and the choices they're making. They aren't being naughty or bad if they don't do what you want, they're just doing the most reinforcing thing available to them. If you assess the environment and what's happening at the time you ask for a behaviour it makes it easier for them to perform what you're after as opposed to the 'wrong' behavior. (Also presumably you aren't asking too much from a still learning mind). Anytime you ask your dog to do something, or you want to do something to your dog you can ask yourself three questions Does my dog want to do what I ask? If not, why might that be? What can I add or remove so he'll be more motivated to do it. Using what your dog finds reinforcing when training, be it food, a game, praise etc is simply using a tool at your disposal. Much like us going to work, if we only got paid when the boss felt like it, we would be more inclined to lose interest or not work as hard when there. Its the expectation and need of our reward which keeps our work level high. We don't need to see our 'money' waved in front of our face, but we know its coming. In regard to listening and respect this is definitely a two way street if you want a good relationship with your dog. Work at their pace, respect comfort levels and try again later where necessary, reward attempts, keep an eye on body language and have respect for their right to say no at times. These things can make them want to participate in future training and increases behavioural health. Anyway sorry if I read more in those sentences that I should have lol

Hmmm a soft tug tied off the side?. There's actually heaps more I would suggest but if you've got multiple dogs in the one pen you may not want to leave resources they can potentially fight over?

Fantastic photos! Like someone else said, a whole other world. Both beautiful and dangerous. Thanks so much for sharing

Awww those kitties melt my heart! Somehow my week 6 has managed to be Frangiapanis again! (No idea why the pic is so huge!)

Cute. You have a good imagination!

What a great shot Denali!! I'd be so happy if I could capture movement AND eye glint like that! Hope you have a fantastic trip, learnt lots and come back and share some tips with us
-
Yay! Can't wait to watch your beautiful babies grow .

Not sure if this helps or not but in the article linked above it says : Simply put, it’s better to end a search than to show your dog where the hide is or prolong the search time which can result in a stressed dog. Our dogs are quick to pick up on our cues and will realize we know where the hides are and able to help them get their reward. Once they know/think we can help, they will ask! And when it gets stressful at a trial that is what they will default to. We never want them to know we know where the hide is. We can’t emphasize this enough. We want them to “drive” the search and grow as independent searchers. Have it be your goal that your dog truly believes they can find every hide even if they don’t. If you help them or continue searching past the point of their ability, then they will begin to lose confidence and odor will lose value.
