would a greyhound muzzle fit him ? there are leather and metal open muzzles like a hanibal lectar one ... Don't use a micky muzzle like the cheap and nasty ones they sell everywhere as those are only suitable for very short term use and certainly not for walking. I am not a fan of plastic muzzles but the one on the pro 9 site someone just posted looks ok, nice and soft. When you muzzle a dog everyone keeps away silly hey cos not it can't do any harm. Your poor dog, I am so sad for you. Maybe it is time to just play and stay home as everytime he gets upset it can take up to a day to settle and that can't be good for his condition.

Oh poor boy, hate reading that people dont want their pets any longer - makes me so sad, I could never give up my pets. and this is the third dog they've done it too the kitten only lasted like a day too There is a bull breed rescue in WA I think... maybe try find thier number to give thier number to your cousin. thanks rally i will see what i can find I have the number but they will also try for a surrender fee, we all try, The thing is as soon as the baby is older they will get another puppy I know they will, we see this time and time again. Poor dog.

what was she eating while you were away ? when you find something they don't react to, then stick to it. As an example my Rusky (RIP) had shocking allergies but she went to kennel for a week and was great ! ahha!! used the food they used for years which was a product made here in Perth by a guy and they would bring down for me when they went to shows or I would pick up in Perth. Then he stopped. The next food I used was supercoat with no additives, this worked till they fiddled with the product ( I had tried all the vet products ) She didn't get much kibble anyway but then I found eagle pack and all was well, she ate that till she passed at a ripe old age. She didn't get any red meat, just chicken necks, frames etc. It really is hard but if your dog was ok when you got home then stick to what you gave her then.

When Buying From A Registered Breeder Poll 1
Rusky replied to SwaY's topic in General Dog Discussion
I put NO, I don't care about the website, having said that my old golden breeders have a great website which is very informative but not really flashy. Their studs and the girls and their achievements are on there including progeny achievements which could be any sport or show, or just a best friend I would prefer that the breeders belong to breed club and all of my pedigree dog breeders have been members of both kennel club and breed club. I would wait 1 to 2 years then give up, I am getting older I don't have a pure breed right now I have my kelpie x who came to me as a foster and also an ancient golden who is a long term foster. I actually will be more interested in socialisation and health care than websites and breed clubs but would expect active involvement in ANKC, or similar, if an import. -
oh my god! :D Twice! ;) How did that happen?! Glad you're alright though! And yes, lucky it wasn't when the seminar is we got the house sprayed for spiders, it fell on me and bit me, they aren't normally aggressive. I feel so bad killing the spiders so I see it as a sort of poetic justice. See you tomorrow ;)

yes you have done the right thing

Loved this - bless her little chocolate heart. And on her weave progress - sounds like the penny is dropping nicely. Thankfully I haven't been stung by a wasp as yet, bees are scary enough! I remember my mum and sister being attacked by a bunch of wasps when they cut a tree back and didn't know there were wasps living in it! I do have wasps that hang around my yard, though They especially like to hang out where the water drips from the aircon, thirsty little buggers. And the dog water bowl that is near the back door. And yes I loved the 2o2o tunnel contact, it was hilarious At first I didn't understand why she kept stopping at the end of it, then the penny dropped for me what she was doing Such a smart girlie I read this somewhere else that you got a bee sting, maybe facebook ? I was bitten by a redback twice and have been out of action for a couple of days, still manage my weave training though So pleased it was during the week and not to impede our seminar ! Can't wait to get back to training.

I have to agree in some circumstances but then those who have been in the classroom are only lacking experience, they have the academic info, have worked hard to pass their degree or whatever and then go to job where they can gain the practical experience. Think of teaching as an example. None of my teachers had ever been near a classroom to gain practical teaching experience, they all simply had degrees in their chosen field. The kids who went to the local secondary school had teachers from training college and those teachers without doubt were much better equipped to take a class...to start with... These days graduates must do teaching prac. Take a newly qualified doctor, they always found the nurse who could give then some practical help. The situation now in WA for vet nurses is that they all have to have that piece of paper, they still need practical experience which they learn on the job. If I needed a bit of paper then I would get it, these days people expect it and I do mean from a reputable institution not from a shonky online store or similar

You'll get on better on this forum if you drop the english - the breeds are Staffordshire Bull Terrier (Stafford, SBT, Staffie/Staffy if you really have to) and American Staffordshire Terrier (Amstaff) Using ''english staffie'' is a hallmark of a BYB, which is not your fault but now you know better Staffords are really bad at being outside dogs, shame you didn't do some research before you committed to a breed which desperately needs the close companionship of it's people. Unless you are really dedicated to several hours of exercise and training every single day of the year, an adult Stafford kept outside will generally speaking destroy your yard, eat the cladding off the house or jump the fence to go find somewhere better to live. A Stafford puppy raised outside will almost certainly grow in to an over excited jumping lunatic. WHY do you want her to be an outside dog? Is there a reason you can't crate train her for now and when she's older allow her access to the house where YOU are (afterall, realistically how much time do you spend in the laundry - maybe a fair bit as you have a baby ) with rules about no dog on the furniture, no dog in the kitchen, whatever rules you want (all these rules are perfectly achievable) What was on the diet sheet the breeder gave you? Feed her what she is used to for AT LEAST 10 days after you have her home. She doesn't need sloppy gravy and weetbix - give her either a high quality dry food OR a mixture of dry food and raw MEATY bones OR investigate the raw food diet (takes time, don't recommend you start it yet). She doesn't need anything soaked or mushed up for her - she has efficient teeth and will love to chew! My puppies at this age get the following: From 8 to 10 weeks: Morning mid day and evening – Choose from (and rotate during the week) A big chicken wing (or 2 small ones) 3-4 chicken necks & a small handful of meat 1 small chicken drumstick or thigh A meaty lamb rib (the sort sold as lamb spare ribs in the supermarket) Any other meaty bone - brisket bone cut to an appropriate size for example or pork bones with plenty of meat. NOT bacon/ham bones (too much salt/chemicals) Once or twice a week - ½ a sheep’s heart Once a week a piece of sheep or beef liver about ½ the size of a sheep’s heart A chicken carcase (as sold for soup in the supermarket) Once or twice a week give him a slice of plain cheese in addition to whatever else you have chosen. Give pup a large biscuit if you haven’t given him a bone. Late evening – either about ½ a cup of milk with a small amount of canned food, dinner left-overs, mince meat etc OR a small slice of cheese. Milk might make a midnight puddle a problem, the meal here depends on personal preference. I don't necessarily recommend this to you personally but just giving you an example of the lack of sloppy stuff an 8 week old SBT needs. Can't agree about it being a breed thing - she is a tiny little baby which has been separated from her siblings and locked up in solitary confinement. Not that surprised she's not happy. Does she have a snuggly toy in her bed - this would be the very least you could do to try and make up for the loss of her siblings. Sorry if I sound harsh, but this is a tiny little baby you have taken on - think back to when you brought YOUR baby home - how much gentle love and attention and constant supervision did the baby need to grow into a happy secure little person? this is such a great post, you have gone to so much trouble and I really really hope the OP takes all this on board including letting the puppy actually be part of the family
