one car was with nothing taken just a smashed window. The rest were in the middle of things, no logic to anything, they are opportunists. One lady is expecting twins, she saw the car then returned to do her graduation class She forgot her dogs lovely toy though so she must have been a bit stressed. I have it safe and sound.

There were actually 3 cars with smashed windows two cars had nothing stolen and one lady had her handbag taken. She said she knew not to leave valuables in the car but as it was hidden under a rug it would be ok. Another lady I was working with at the time rushed back to her car as she had left it unlocked and her bag, phone wallet etc sitting on the passenger seat. When I went with her to her car she had also left the window down. She was parked right next to my car ...nothing touched on hers or mine. I told them this morning and asked Bevan to see if the ladys bag is in the bushes anywhere. I was going to look myself but the thunder put me off.

so sorry about Rosie am glad you have got to the bottom of it, get well soon Rosie we we missed you tonight xx

I think this has got off track, the OP was asking about leaving a 9 week old puppy outside all day with an 8 month old maltese. My adult dogs please themselves where they want to be unless I have seen a snake around the place then I am OTT. This is not about leaving dogs alone all day, people have to work we live in a real world, it is about the safety of your puppies.

I agree with the US posts except the twit who never leaves her dog except to go to the barthroom at 3 & 4. I have a 14 week puppy, she has absolutley never been alone unless crated. I would never leave her with my dogs unsupervised in the garden. If I absolutely have to go out and leave her she is crated. We have made a special run for her on the verandah with toilet facilities which will be extended as she gets older but that is for use when I am home for emergency toilet break. She sleeps in the bedroom with the pack and I supervise all play. I would be mortified if she were stolen, hurt, unable to defend herself or ate something she shouldn't. People do awful things to dogs, in our city there is an area where dogs are being poisoned and killed. This was also going on when I lived in a country town and my dog was a target but had food refusal. So many things can go wrong.

warm congratulations bedazzled ! Delighted we have another UD judge

K9 won't get security I don't think.. maybe they would if all members pitched in for some. We have a few more car park lights now and Bevan usually closes the Warton road end gate in the evening which means that cars have to come from the Ranford end. The ones we chased sped off to the warton road gate with lights off after pickings at spitz training. They had come down to steal from us but we spotted them. If we see anyone we don't know we really all need to ask who they are.People who are members won't care and will understand. I am wondering if maybe security cameras might be of some advantage. The problem has escalated since all the development started. I am not suggesting it is the people who live there just that they went for pickings from the new development and discovered CAWA...rich pickings, unlocked cars, people busy with their dogs etc.

Yes Rusky I only have myself to blame. I usually do lock my car, and for some reason, tonight was the night when I let my guard down and for some reason just didn't lock it, more fool me. Looks like I got what I deserved! I even warned my mum about not taking valuables down to K9 when she was about to head out the door with her handbag to head to training. It's just one of those things that happens and the thieves must've had a sixth sense about this being the time my car not being locked, and knowing my 1 week old pretty phone was in there all alone I know I have myself to blame but it doesn't make it feel less shitty. I'm off to the Virgin Mobile store shortly to sort out a new sim. I feel so naked without a phone on me! It's like I'm missing a limb! so was this at the judges exam last night ?

when did this happen RS ? so sorry but at training all the time we tell people to lock their cars, to park under or near lights etc. A few months ago they were removing whole windows. At Tuesday training one night they had a field daythere were dogs in cars and still stuff stolen. Sorry but really we all know abouth the rotten thieving and know heaps of people who have been robbed. We really really need to lock our cars and park under the lights. I saw a car on Tuesday with "all valuables have been removed from my car" I think that is a great idea. My biggest fear is something will happen to a dog, or a puppy stolen. I have sleepless nights about it. Sorry about your phone ..was it insured ?

it does to me too

Extremely Matted Dogs Owned By Colleague - What To Do?
Rusky replied to Alkhe's topic in General Dog Discussion
well done again and that is absolutely the priority. I am sure there is no way he could tell either, rest easy and thank your lucky stars you aren't an impulsive character like me. I open my gob and the words just come out Someone I know recently made a complaint about an animals condition and the authorities called the police as there was much more going on than neglected dogs. Serious criminal offences were unearthed... not in Australia. They didn't sleep too well for a while but we can't just look and see animals in terrible condition and walk on by...we just can't -
thank Dog for that give him a cuddle from me

if you email Susan Clothier she will probably give you permission to print off her article and give to your parents. I emailed her years ago, she wouldn't allow us to use it in our booklet ...fair enough as it wasn't what I was asking for but printed with credits she was delighted to be of help.

Extremely Matted Dogs Owned By Colleague - What To Do?
Rusky replied to Alkhe's topic in General Dog Discussion
I think you have handled this really well and you had some fantastic suggestions. I would have told him his dogs were in pain and constituted neglect and if he didn't take them to a groomers I would contact the authorities.. I know..wrong thing but it is how I am. I had not seen this thread before. Anyway well done and hopefully these two poor wee dogs will be much more comfortable in a few days. Breaks my heart. -
Don Burke must have passed him the mantle remember the freedon farm episode...I do..very well. Ok must steer clear of black labs

just want to say congratulations Angelsun for all your hard work, you are a special lady who has worked so very hard for Rally O. Just read the new rules on the website and am absolutely delighted that verbal praise and pats are to be encouraged and not penalised.I have had some real concerns about this and dipped out of meetings. Well done Ms Angelsun..you are a star

I agree absolutely, why don't you give it a go CC ? give him a cuddle from me and I hope he is better soon.

What Do You Do With Your Dogs When You Go Away?
Rusky replied to aussielover's topic in General Dog Discussion
we go away a lot and I am happy to know they are safe in a kennel with people I trust with my precious dogs. At Christmas the puppy may go with the pack but we also have the offer of her breeder to take her. I think they will be better all together. I have always used kennels..all my life and that is a long time really :D They are completely safe and are in kennels where dogs really are loved and understood.I don't judge love and understanding on extra payment for cuddles etc. I don't want my dogs walked outside the kennel area. I think family like Mum and Dad or close siblings would be fantastic but the pressure on friends would be too much, well for my dogs anyway -
nope you haven't missed them get your entries in
-
absolutely not because I also couldn't get the job done with Mr G. I kept taking him for a walk and nothing I thought he would do just that in the jumping. Roll on evening trials cos I just can't get the poo factor worked out Hey what is wrong with Louis ? Boxagirl I feel for you ...it is just so bloody hard to see them grow old. Hopefully now after the treatment Bondi will be pain free and feel much more comfortable..sending hugs
-
yep Deb sees as many as you like and thank you ptolomy for putting me on to her. I give them 2 each of the fish oil RS and the puppy just 1 :D
-
I used fish oil for my old golden, she had shcoking hip displaysia, days before internet just did what I could read about including keeping slender and swimming so I used glucosamine plus other stuff till my husband showed me an article in lancet that after much research there was absolutely no benefit to using glucosamine or chondritin...but fish oil was a winner...so from then on I have only used fish oil for all my dogs...but as I say tis up to you since then the vet research has done the same but was looking for an article which is now defunct.. makes me wonder if someone isn't making money out of promoting joint products...what me a cynic ?
-
fish oil is important but the rest of the stuff has no proven use..if you feel your dog is better on it then use it otherwise don't waste your money.

ahh and I knew that our dogs are a dead giveaway hey ?
