  1. Have you looked at Eden Hill ? Mondays and Thurdays, just a hop skip from you I think
  2. I call sibes the border collies of northern breeds, they are very smart. Then again it depends on your interpretation of canine intelligence :D Training a northern breed is a challenge, relax, have fun and make it fun and interesting for them, make your sibe think.
  3. have a look at this http://www.jersey.net/~mountaindog/berner1/bitestop.htm
  4. when my old girl was diagnosed with renal failure I used royal canin walthams renal diet which is vet order kibble. I also found an informative website with recipes for making your own food . I wanted to make her food a little more interesting. http://www.vetprof.com/clientinfo/KidneyDi...InDogs/diet.htm She liked the chicken and potato recipe, she always loved chicken.
  5. I think clickers are great for people with little or no intonation. I think teaching timing is probably better and easier with a clicker too. A click for my dog means we are working. I can click a clicker faster than my tongue and click faster than a yes so marking the dog correct leaves less chance for error. I love the clicker DVDs such as puppy shaping, magical to watch. There will be some on utube I am sure. I have been lazy with the clicker but I have a very responsive dog right now and it is fun learning tricks.

  12. who sent the blood? was it your vet or the lab and what cost is involved?
  13. ruddy bones can cause heaps of trouble and then things go on...who said dogs forget? In my experience they don't really. You need some help, hope someone can suggest for someone suitable to come to your place soon as cosmolo suggested. So food doesn't become an issue meantime feed separately and rid the garden of bones. Try to relax, if they were mates before they probably will be again. Some days dogs have off days just like we do, keep your wits about you. Make sure you and your man take them out walking together....with you guys between them
  14. awww congratulations Erny ;) he will bring you years of joy and love. I am so happy for you.

  16. K9: The truth is that many thousands of dogs have been, & still are being trained with e collars, & the biggest problem the anti e collar folk have is that there is not one genuine case of harm occuring through the use of these collars. Regardless of what diagrams you present, that will still be the number one fact to be considered.
  17. easier for whom? I don't think desexing and shock collars are comparable. I admire the people in the second video, I didn't watch either for long but they were trying to find a level they felt comfortable with. I do think though a lead might be a better idea, or a fence?
  18. sorry can't stop laughing. Chopper is the baby is he?
  19. I don't think that many vets, vet nurses or rangers know any breed too well. Why should they, they get breeds wrong consistantly, not just APB. Hope your dog gets well soon. edited to add that many vets don't support bsl either so could be a deliberate mistake.
  20. phone them 9399 1146 just found them in my local directory, just says on the highway. I think a lot of their meat is horse, ask them though I may be wrong but I thought southdales were the knackers.
