I would get a crate and bring him into the bedroom, he won't cry forever he is just a baby.

licence would be required by anyone with breeding dogs in a kennel exactly as it is now but that a separate body of educated people in animal husbandry to have police powers and to inspect regularly. I would imagine that the extras which I feel are basic such as a run, comfortable bedding, regular excercise and cuddles could easily be added to the pathetic current requirements. I know and understand completely the breeders on this thread who are doing it right will feel irritated but it isn't for them, they would just become part of it to improve living conditions for all dogs in a kennel ( farm) situation. I agree with Anne too that there is not an oversupply but I belive the comments I made earlier about restrictions have added to the problem. There was a day whe dogs took themselves off to do whatever and came home when they felt like it, there used to be heaps of dogs wandering around, life was simpler then, times have changed and fines are heavy. You can't take your dog where you please either, that irritates me a lot in fact Fremantle council just one day decided that dogs could not be in the main CBD and that was that... I loved Sundays at freo with my dog and all the other dogs, shopping coffee relaxing. It is increasingly difficult to find a rental which allows dogs etc etc

unfortunately they can, they can neglect and abuse, breed and abandon. You can't control people, you can control the number of puppies. Of course you can contol humans and not just by new laws. If that were the case there would be no crime. I am speaking of our democratic society. You can certainly educate or attempt education to those who want to listen. Small backyards, cute window shop puppies, no compulsary microchipping, little desexing of pet puppies from breeders, internet sites like gumtree,TV presenters who advocate mixed breeds, slack councils,TV stars, lack of real facilities for dogs to go and have fun with their owners, beaches closed to dogs, parks closed to dogs, outdoor cafes closed to dogs, and simple human apathy all contribute to the number of dogs abandoned. Those are actually just a few, you can't control people, you can desex dogs. The shires and RSPCA are the first point of call for people who care and see a bad situation in which a puppy has been raised. RSPCA says food, water and shelter are all that is required, the shire investigates smells and barking. I believe that the councils should have an educated team to investigate and have police power. I believe that complaints from breeders about breeders who are housing dogs in shocking conditions should be properly investigated by the canine body and that if they are deregistered it shouldn't end there but that the ANKC can report to the investigators from council who can close it down. That councils then report to a national body so that it isn't a simple case of moving shires and setting up again, that all licences be approved by a national body. That inspections be mandatory by your shire.

have a quick look at my post. I addressed gumtree etc, they should not sell there or in stores. Compulsary chipping should be part of the dog act and puppies can be controlled by desexing. The farms feed the stores, the backyard the gumtree ... Why do individual dogs suffer by desexing? I think they suffer a heck of a lot more having litter after litter in dreadful conditions. Actually I will just ask the wee 10 week old pup who is here after being picked up starving to death at a truck stop....... If you choose not to desex your dog for whatever reason there is a chance she can have puppies, it is a simple equation. There can not be any breed dogs in farms if the farmers are unable to access the breed dogs.

but how did the dogs get there in the first place ? Surely a very good starting point would be mandatory desexing of pet puppies. I mean I bought a few dogs from great breeders who followed me along and kept in touch but honestly ? not one ever asked me if I was going to desex. I don't know how or what impact there would be if breeders sold pups desexed or even if it would ever be possible but every breeder knows that there is a chance their sold pet puppy could have a litter or sire a litter. I don't think that any breeders are to blame it is just the way it is. I also don't think that you will ever stop backyard breeding unless there is a very strict regulation put into place and honestly I wouldn't want that for a massive variety of reasons which have been discussed here before. I really believe that every single pup and every single dog in every single state or any imported dog should be microchipped from now ...today...this needs to be part of the dog act. Those chips could then show where the dog originated and current owner. That no pup could be sold unless chipped. That no dogs be sold in pet shops, that each farm comply with a number which can be bred and sold. well it would be a good starting point and nothing that hasn't been said before.

well now I have stopped laughing at the turds in the bed I will gather myself to answer the OP. My darling old girl Rusky did this in the final months of her life, she would be walking along and a hard pellet would just drop out of her bum. I knew there was a reason she didn't sleep in my bed but honestly...in a heartbeat pellet poo and all to have her with me again.

so sorry Kirty, so sad. RIP little one

I know exactly what you are saying but the next one will probably be a completely different scenario. I think YG should join with a reputable rescue group for support for any future dogs in need. The issue with taking a fee when you are not part of a rescue group is that it is simply a sale and not an adoption. I must confess that when I independantly rescued I would get the vet work done and request that a donationation be made to my choice of shelter or rescue group. If I couldn't have managed the cost I would not have been able to do it at that time. Those dogs are all still chipped to me. There were only a few as I had moved to a new area and so left my old group behind but wanted to continue till I found a group I knew had the same ideals as myself. Plug here for SAFE PERTH...doing it well. I do honestly believe though that YG has absolutely done all she could possibly have done to ensure this was a good option for Banshee, if she had been with a reputable rescue group the same thing could have happened but it wouldn't be posted on here Maybe it was too soon, we don't know as we haven't met the dog. When a dog has a few issues it can sometimes be a tough call to get both the timing and the family right.

I never believe what people tell me I don't believe toilet was the only reason and I don't think it was the other issues either. They just weren't right for her. Don't despair the right people will be round the corner and if not then I guess she will stay with you and be loved unconditionally. When people adopt a dog which is ill or has some cranky or unusual behaviours if they are the right people they manage them. Don't beat yourself up and no one else has the right to either as you have gone above and beyond to try to ensure it was the right place for her.

I loved this so much fun you were all having in a completely relaxed and happy atmosphere. Bondi was having a ball and the wee wolf working his butt off. Thanks. I never watch these vids usually but the music was great and the training upbeat and fun. -
I think we have a little one at the club but can't get to check till next Monday, if you can wait.... The shop is open during the week at CAWA, they are almost cost price for stuff. Call the office at the ground and they will give you opening times. I bought some blades a while ago from there and he opened at 12 on the Friday....
