  1. No insights... just eye candy... *grin* T. Hell yeh !!! ;) What!? No way, The Bionic Vet is superior in every way to Roger Ramvet ! If there was a poll on this you would see how little 'eye candy man' would rate. Sorry to be harsh, but somebody has to snap you both back to reality :D "Roger Ramvet" !!!!! best quote EVER and yes the bionic vet is way superior ;)
  2. Yes, you are correct, Coffs to Adel is much further than Ballarat to Adel. Do breeders get a special rate from the transportation companies? I'm wondering if i'm getting the 'non-special' rate. I'm going to 'ring 'round' and see what the comparable rates are like. thanks
  3. You could almost drive over and pick him up from Adelaide to Ballarat? By memory I think it cost us under $400 when my husband drove from Adelaide to Melbourne and picked our little one up including a motel stay overnight, food etc, just a thought? We had considered this, but the puppy won't be have full immunity from its six week vaccinations and i'm loathe to set it down on the ground enroute to do its business every hour or so. Am i being overly protective about vaccination immunity? As long as my husband is allowed by AAE to lodge the dog himself, him picking up the puppy while he's in Melbourne for work, will be the cheapest option. His work pay for his flights and we only pay for the dog and the hiring of a car to get to Ballarat
  4. My heart goes out to you. Losing a beloved four legged family member is awful in any circumstance but to lose one in that circumstance is just too shocking. sending hugs your way
  5. Hello folks, we'll be looking to bring our new pup home in about 6 weeks and was wondering what the cost of using JetPets would be as we've used them several times before with adult dogs in the past. The pup is coming from Ballarat and i live in Adelaide. I got an approximate cost of nearly $550 which seems darn excessive to me. Your thoughts please?? as MrSuziwong66 works in Melb frequently, we thought he could hire a car and pick the puppy up himself and they could fly back together. Qantas quoted us $60 for an accompanied animal and $120 for an unaccompanied animal with $60 for crate. However, reading through some of the posts in another topic discussion in the breeders forum area, i read that only pet transport reps can lodge animals with AAE for transport as freight We've been looking through both Qantas' and AAE's websites so that we are well informed about transporting the new puppy but this topic was not on either websites. So my questions for others who have experienced recent pet transport are: does my quote seem reasonable? and is it true that only pet transport reps can lodge animals with AAE to fly? (my husband's company uses Qantas to fly him to Melb & back) thanks for any input
  6. Hi all, new to the forum and love the dog-people i've already 'met' here We had to make the awful decision to send Casper our Yellow Lab to the Rainbow Bridge a week before his 14th birthday (29 May). He was the the shining light in our family and we'll miss him more than words will ever express. Despite some saying Labs are destructive and naughty dogs, this was not our experience with Casper. Yes, he had his puppy moments but he wasn't a destructive or naughty dog; on the contrary he was well behaved and quite the character To be honest, any of his indiscretions were more our fault due to naivety to having a puppy in the house after such a long absence Casper came to us to help fill the hole that Keiran (German Shepherd - 10 yrs) left in our hearts when he went to go the Rainbow Bridge. And Wilbur (15 day old Chocolate Lab) will be coming to make his mark within our family in about 6 weeks time This time, with two prior puppies under our belt, we are less naive about having a puppy in the house again I cannot thank the staff at our local vet enough, who were fabulous on such an awful day. A week later they sent us a condolence card and a card with Casper's inked paw print - we cherish it along with all the photos and memories we have of our wonderful boy. We will miss Casper every day till we meet again with lots of cuddles and licks at the Rainbow Bridge.
