  1. Thanks alot Guys. Yeah, he he is a good looking boy!! He is all good, still playful and happy!! One thing to note, you know..he never barks! He is quite scared of little things. Like if his food bowl moves on the concrete he will be scared and wont touch his food. Only if i put a mat under it he will be ok with it. At the dog park the other day, with his heavy breathing a little Maltese terrier snapped at him...he took off leg between tail lol! Dont know if its because he is still young (16 months.)
  2. Spoke to Vet, and he says he will be fine. Took him out to teh dog park yesterday and had a ball. Hasnt shown any signs of illness.. Thanks all...here is a pic of him for good measure..
  3. So I got home last night to find a Mangled up bottle of Round Up that was half full..... So the Dog managed to find this on a shelf and went to town on it... Ive done a bit of googling and most sites say Roundup is harmless for dogs... He seems fine, not sick or anything, but anyone have an idea if this is going to affect him???
  4. Robbi, Thanks for that, I am taking everything in as good advice, as I know you guys are the pros/more experienced. Yesterday Mojo spent time at my inlaws who have a huge back yard and 2 dogs. One is a fox terrier, the other is [i have no idea] small as well. The Fox Terrier kept barking at him (From a distance) and the other dog was ok with him at first, but after a while seemed scared. Kept running away. Perrin, great idea re the clam shell!
  5. Redangel, they didnt have any concern about the age, they said 6 weeks is fine. And yep, we are booked in for the training next month. I was being a bit sarcastic when I said germaphobe. Main reason I got a dog (And this kind) is companionship, especially walking him everyday, and to scare off any intruders, as we have had a few break-ins in the street this year
  6. Thanks SK for that post, helps alot. Cheers ruthless, I live in a little cul de sac, I know that's no excuse though
  7. Your making out like I just leave Mojo outside and that's it. First couple of nights he slept in the laundry. Now he sleeps outside fine. He gets to come in the house at least twice a day to run around and/or sleep. He does not cry all night, only when he waked up about 6am, he will cry for some puppy milk. Will have that, and im out there playing with him till he is tired again and he goes back to sleep.
  8. Whoever it was that asked about Lead training: We don't walk him with a lead. Its down the driveway (probably 5m) then up to the next house (Another 5-7M) and back again. He is happy to walk along side of us. If I let him roam around inside now, it will be hard to train him to stay outside when he is a monster. Its a dog, not a human baby. What about all those wild dogs? They dont have a house to bring their pups up. Have taken Mojo to the vet. No dramas. Just a simple graze. No infections. The feet splayed like that are just in the pic as he is on the tiles, struggling for grip I assume, because when I look at them now they are fine.
  9. No disinfecting in my yard. As I said it happened when we took him out the front for a walk on the path. Im not one of those people who like to have dogs in the house. I'm a bit of a "germaphobe" (queue Seinfeld bass guitar). I think in my head: "that guy is walking around my house, after walking in his own piss, mud etc out side". Or he is sitting on my couch after he has just done a crap....and dogs in my bed....HELL NO! Im sorry if I sound harsh, but IMO dogs belong outside. That all being said, being a pup, he does get to come inside quite a bit but he is usually happy to go outside after 20 mins or so. Robbi, yep I have all the registration papers, and some guides he gave me. I have had dogs before, but always small , like Maltese terriers etc. Never had any issues with them, and they are still around (At my parents place), but i know the Amstaff is different to those small maint dogs, hence joining the forum. Thanks for all the comments!
  10. BTW Sorry my yard is mostly tiled, there are some areas where there are hedges and river pebbles (they are smooth). Its not a small yard, and has access to see the outside world.
  11. Because I dont like dogs in the house. I have asthma and hayfever, so having the hair etc around the house will affect me. Im active, so plan to get him out at least 2 hours a day. Good idea re the sand pit!
  12. Thanks again for replies guys. My back yard is all tiled (Italian previous owners hehe), there is no way to dig around the back. Just asking about another tip, he cries alot for attention. I always go out there and play with him till he is tired (I try not to have him in the house at all), then he sleeps again. Is it good practice to sometimes ignore his cries (Hard to do!) so he doesnt get use to getting what he wants?
  13. Hey guys, when i take him for a walk its just out the front, not even 5 minutes worth. Is it ok to take him to the beach yet???? Or am i getting ahead of msyelf here? hhee
  14. I will def let him know, because I saw him at 4 weeks, and said ill have to wait till at least when he is 6 weeks to pick him up, so I think he assumes 6 weeks is the min as when I went to pick him up another couple were there picking up another one.
