Ah jerojath! Not in the dark! Fingers crossed she does something for you soon. Spoke to another breeder who said that bitches sometimes get loose anyway from toileting the pups. She seems ok so I'm hoping all will go well from here.

Oh dear - Mia developed diarrhea early this morning after her first bowel movement, a couple of episodes this morning since - poor girl. I let her have rolled oats that had a little milk in them yesterday as it was all she was interested in at the time. she's had some before but in hindsight prob wasn't the best move :-( she still looks well and doesn't appear dehydrated and the pups are full and happy, put a call in to the vet who says it was prob the oats and to watch her and the pups for a few hours and if she drops off or I'm worried then bring her in for a check up. You live you learn I guess...

YAY jerojath!! Fingers crossed for you!!

Marinapoint she is just beautiful!!! We had a pretty big belly and had 9, only 7 made it but there are a couple of big heffers in there so they probably contributed to the bulk! Your girl looks pretty similar to mine though so maybe 9-10?

Alyosha, i'm trying really hard not to pick 'the one' at the moment, I have got no where near enough experience under my belt to do that, will be getting a helping hand from another very experienced breeder for some 'objective eyes' when they are a bit older. HOWEVER.....There were three that took my eye and 1 in particular that I REALLY liked. I LOVE the first solid black girl with the big patch of white on her chest and I really like the Liver Girl too, there is a lovely B&W girl that I like but i'm not as taken with her as the other two yet. BUT like I said, trying really hard no to get set on one until they're a bit older and we've had a better look! Are you keeping any alyosha?

Awww Britt they're gorgeous, gotta love a Cav, we had a lovely little blenheim boy when we were kids and I still have a big soft spot for them!

I'll definitately get proper pics up on my website www.jetpointgsp.com as soon as I take them. They're all so settled in there and she's not jumping out and is happy to stay. They pups are all either feeding or passed out milk drunk at the moment so I don't want to upset anything while things are going well! Next time I take her out for a wee break i'll get the pics before they all get settled in again. I think i'll try to get some rescue remedy for tonight - just in case she is unsettled again, either that or for me!! Yesterday evening I was wondering if we'd get out of this with our sanity intact!! Not that I want to jinx anything but i'm hoping it's all taken a positive turn now. Have attached the piccies I have. 1st one Finshed and cleaned up All done! Before the 'tent' Much Happier in her 'tent'

Yep I went to take her outside for a wee break and all she was interested in was coming back in...I think were getting somewhere! Maybe after a few days of letting her have breaks and then putting her back in she'll get what this being a mum is all about! Excuse my ignorance but what exactly is rescue remedy for dogs?

This is our 'A' litter too - no theme though I like yours alyoshsa! We made it through the night - she's still heading off to the laundry now and then and we have to settle her in with the pups again but today the kiddy gate goes up and she won't be able to get in there. She's currently having a break from the pups and is having some time with me. I think she just needs a rest without them crawling all Over her! Does anyone elses girl need breaks now and then? Also do u still take them out for a walk if she wants it? She's had a couple of meals and pups seem to be feeding fine, keeping an eye out for the smaller ones but they seem to be getting in there and getting a teat too. Pics soon! Alyosha - yours are just gorgeous!

OMG I think the crisis is averted!!! She kept ducking behind the curtain into the laundry and trying to take pups there! So...we rigged up sheets into a tent over the whelping box - she dove right in, gathered up her pups and they have all promptly gone to sleep, she didn't even look when we left the room. Fingers crossed that's done the trick- all she wanted was a den!!

HELP!! Mia doesn't want to stay with the pups and is getting quite upset when we leave her. Should we ignore her or stay with her. I HATE hearing her so upset!
-
Thanks guys, mum and bubs doing well, very strong and with vocals to match! Mia still getting used to them but I think things look like they're heading in the right direction.

Definitely your turn next jerojath!! Sending puppy dust your way!

THEY'RE HERE!!! Mia was having a lovely sleep on the couch last night and when my movie finished at midnight I went to put her into the whelping box and go to bed. No such luck! She chose then to start wandering around and whining at the door. So out came the spare mattress next to the whelping box where she joined me for a few hours. At about 4am she just kept getting up and trying to get outside. We went outside for one stint with torch and towel at the ready! She had a wee and then we came in where she proceeded to insist that she needed to go outside again - turns out at about 5:30AM she had a bit of a grunt and I yelled out to my OH to get out of bed. First pup a black and white girl at 6:03am, then had a mummified pup, then another black and white girl and another black and white girl!! At this point we figured the chances of any liver were pretty slim. She them popped out another very small black and white pup that was dead. At this point we were feeling pretty low as we'd lost two at some point but these things do happen I guess. After this she gave us a liver boy!! I'm thinking of keeping a liver girl so I was very excited for a moment! Next was a lovely big black girl followed by a liver girl (YAY!) and we finshed up with another black girl. So all in all a good mix. 6 girls and one boy though! Now the challenge is keeping her in the whelping box with pups instead of wanting to be with us and working out who has had a feed and who hasnt'!! Any tips thoroughly appreciated - we're wanting to intervene as little as possible but also want to make sure everyone is getting fed! She made very little fuss at all having the pups - a few soft grunts and some alomst invisible contractions and they would arrive. She wasn't sure what to do with them at first but seems to be getting the hang of it a bit better now! Pics soon but Mia is having a bit of a snooze and I dont' want to interrupt and unsettle anything so will pop some up later.

Heya jerojath got fingers crossed here too!! Had a slightly promising episode of digging around in the lounge room Earlier this evening but alas she has been asleep for hours now. Has not touched food (other than a treat biscuit) or water all day so far but as I go to put her in her box 4 the night I'm sure she'll devour it all. Took her out for a pee earlier and she scared the living daylights out of me. She nicked off round the corner of the house where I couldn't see her with the torch from the steps - quickly ran around only to find her straining a bit - heart skipped a beat as I was trying to work out if there was a puppy on the way but she simply stopped and ran back around to the steps! Hindsight tells me it's rather unlikely to go from sleeping on the couch to pushing out a puppy but I'm starting to get paranoid!!
-
Ok I have a question - the pups haven't even arrived yet but it's been something i've been trying to figure out for a while. When you take your bitch/pups to the vet in the first week or two I'm guessing you can just put the pups in their washing basket and off you go. But how on earth am I supposed to get god knows how many 6 week old GSP's to the vet for their vacc's??? I have a landcruiser but how do I contain them? Can anyone tell me what they've done in the past?
-
Awwww Fee is so cute!!! Can't wait to see her pups, the way we're going at the moment you'll probably still get yours before mine!! :-P I have had several conversations with my Mia about keeping us all in suspense so long however she doesn't seem particularly interested. 63 days tomorrow so one can only hope we won't get to Monday and still have no puppies (I REALLY hope so because I have to go back to work on thursday evening!!) Mia is still sound asleep on the couch and shows no signs of moving any time soon... Yarrowfell - OMG - how does she walk???
-
Well were still waiting. I'm hoping tonight is the night (no particular reason but a girl can hope!) there was a little bit of scratching around about 10mins ago but now we're asleep on the couch again so who knows!! Haven't seen her eat anything today either....
-
God I hope so but she is quite comfortably curled up at my feet having a good old snooze - not snoring yet but i'm sure that will start any time now! Who knows what the next few hours may hold?
-
No don't say that jerojath!! I will have gone completely insane in a weeks time!!
-
Well were back to sleeping....oh dear! We don't look at all like were having puppies at the moment, I guess she'll do it when she's good and ready!
-
Well at 4:45am this morning I hear Mia scratching around in her whelping box and licking something - holy crap i'm thinking - how could I possibly have slept through it!! Got in there and she was quite restless (not sure if it was 'hi mum can I come to your bed now' restless or the 'I'm actually thinking about doing something restless'! Anyhow an hour later she promptly puts herelf back to bed in the whelping box after a feed and drink.....I went back to bed. Is definately looking uncomfortable now and is restless again - who knows - maybe we'll start seeing some pups!!
-
ha ha alyosha - I was wondering that today, she's a pretty laid back chick so I was thinking i'll probably just let her out for a pee and she'll pop one out on the lawn! I'm desperate to know what's in there, how many and what colours! They're so active i'm thinking we're going to have our hands full when they do get here. Got my fingers crossed for tomorrow - I swear tomorrow is THE DAY!!
-
Hi Guys, Doesn't look like there is going to be any action tonight either, lots of activity in the belly but Mia is happily snoring away on the couch. I have to go back to work Thursday next week and I REALLY hope we're going to have some pups sooner rather than later.
