  1. I was lucky and only had 7 in my last - I had nightmares of 15 (as you know it does happen). 7 6-8 week old GSPs were such a handful I could never imagine having such a huge litter. You're so right about the sleepness nights etc. How does your girl go with feeding them all, do you split yours into two groups and rotate for feeds?
  2. Underfoot - that Willow of yours is a puppy factory!!! She's certainly no underachiever!! LOVE Dally pups!!
  3. I will be desexing Mia after her next litter which will be her last. I plan on desexing all my girls when they are retired from breeding.
  4. I'm going with both big girl Mia and her daughter Stella. Stella is now in Minor Puppy!!!
  5. GWP4ME - Your list is perfect!!! Except I might change the Large Muensterlaender to a Welsh Springer!
  6. Nevafollo they are GORGEOUS - I love Mercedes and Mr Schu! I don't envy you picking one. I very ALMOST kept two but looking back now with such a high maintenance breed i'm glad I only chose to run one on and hope to have another special keeper in my next litter.
  7. So sorry angelsun, it must be heart wrenching for you and mum. Breeding is a tough game. We had one mummified pup and one tiny who never got going but we just had to focus on the lovely pups we did have. Nothing like what's happened to you. You've had such bad luck trying to get them pregnant - to get this far and then end up with none is just not fair. May the pups run free over the rainbow
  8. No no!! More pics - for those of us who dont have pups - we need a puppy fix!!!
  9. I love Skipper. Our CKCS was called Max (not very original!) he was such a cutie.
  10. Trisven, my girl did not utter a single sound the entire time but she didn't quite get what these 'things' were all about until puppy number 5 (which happened to be black like her ?Coincidence - probably!) at which point she promptly took over chewing off cords etc. However she wasn't interested in settling in with them until they were all done and she'd been outside to pee. After that she had a bit of a look, sniff and decided she'd feed them! I'm hoping next time around she'll work it out straight away! I'm thinking this is not unusual? By the way, so cute - huge congrats!!
  11. Liz T, I had a winter litter due Early July went early September, no problems at all having enough good buyers. However I was so worried about the pups keeping warm as here in Toowoomba (well slightly south) it can get really cold and the house we're renting at the moment gets very cold too. It was -6 the morning the pups were born. I'm all for the summer litter now, if we move to Brissy I guess a winter litter might be a different story.
  12. I got mine from eBay, fast postage and they have a warehouse in Moorooka so u might be able to pick it up? Great crate I got the 42 inch so it will fit my girl when she's fully grown. They're called petsouterspace
  13. Oh my god......Mr Schu is to die for - how gorgeous!!!!
  14. There was a GORGEOUS B&W pointer that went either best in group or reserve best in group last week at durack - VERY nice dog - haven't seen many B&W but I really liked this one!!
  15. Ons - yep that is roaning. I would love a really nice B&W girl.....BUT - she'd have to be exactly what I wanted in every other way first - if she happened to be a really nice B&W well that would be a huge bonus!! Once again just like alyosha said we get the misconception that black and black and white GSPs aren't 'real' GSPs or are somehow inferior because there aren't so many around in Australia yet - although they are getting there!!
  16. GSPs - Liver, and Liver and White. I really love all our colours and I LOVE my solid black girls. The only ones i'm not really fond of are the liver and white or black and white with very little to no roaning. Some show dogs i've seen may as well be pointers with a few spots (don't get me wrong - I like pointers but GSPs shouldn't look like one!!) Having said that I have had a LOT of interest in the blacks in recent times and it seems to be growing. I don't think this is necessarily a bad thing but I will never ever breed just for colour - my kids get homed based on temperament and personality and their new owners lifetsyle.
  17. My order arrived today!!! It makes me want to put in another 1!!! Too much awesome stuff - the girls are going to LOVE it. Wondering if x-mas should come early today, they are wreaking havoc at the moment, it's been raining all night and all day and they are 'finding' toys
  18. Toys 1. CKCS 2. Pug 3. Italian Greyhound Terriers 1. Airedale 2. Scotty's!! 3. Welshies!! Gundogs - can I have more than three? 1. GSPs (Duh!!) 2. Weim 3. Pointer 4. Welsh Springer Hounds 1. Whippet 2. Beagle 3. Greyhound Working 1. Rough Collie 2. Old English Sheepdog 3. Maremma Utility 1. Doberman 2. Giant Schauzer 3. German Pinscher Non-Sporting 1. Great Dane 2. Standard Poodle 3. Dalmation
  19. I got my fibreglass one from hydrobaths australia, has pig rails and removable bit at the front of the box. I got the biggest size which is only just big enough for my GSPs. However it is really easy to clean and is a really good box.
  20. try http://stores.ebay.com.au/Pets-Outerspace?_trksid=p4340.l2563 I got mine from here and it is great, very happy with it. Their crate covers are also fantastic.
  21. All I can say is thank god I have a landcruiser - and even that isn't big enough some days! Main use is to tow horses but it sure comes in handy with two dogs, crates, gazebos etc. etc. Fill Up day at the petrol station is painful though! I don't have a dog trailer so I don't think I can really offer much advice on what they're like sorry.
  22. Yes but how many people who have an interest are put off? When I got my first - showing was no where near the top of my list. Have wanted to 'have a go' for ages but would never have said I was a diehard. You lose so many lovely people by not letting them in. Someone shouldn't have to really really want to, go through god knows how many breeders (some very rude to enquiries about main reg dogs if you haven't shown before), and be generally discouraged in order to have the option to have a go at showing. We should be encouraging people in - NOT making it almost impossible. People with bad intentions will always find a way to BYB, if you screen your buyers well, encourage them, EDUCATE them, and be approachable I think you'll find that a much better way to ensure your dogs don't end up in the wrong hands or accidentally in pup than putting everything on limited register.
