Wow Alyosha - 12!! So much for the 7 you were hoping for!! Thery are just gorgeous and i'd be very interested in hearing about the system you have going for feeding because i'm now thinking I might need it. I love your pups - especially the photo of all of them together! I can only imagine what it is going to be like trying to do a head count once they get up and moving - 'now, did I count that one already??' Well we're officially at 63 days on sunday...I was thinking given how big my girl is that she'd be looking at mid week but here we are and still no puppies! I can't imagine her actually getting any bigger at this point, she's having a lovely big lay in the sun this morning and you can see her side rippling with all the puppies moving around in there. I mean the maximum of 10 puppies she has in there.... She's not eating anywhere near as much as normal and is doing lots of sunbaking and sleeping but stil loves her afternoon romp around the paddock. It's so hard to tell - i'm used to horses and i'm struggling to look for anything other than the most obvious signs here! Ah well - they'll come when they're ready (hopefully sooner rather than later!)

OMG 12!! Now i'm really feeling faint... Well done!!
-
OMG Alyosha if you have 8+ in there i'm suddenly feeling fairly faint about how many Mia might have on board..... Good going though - glad to hear they are all doing well - can't wait to see some piccies when she's done!
-
YAY!!! Alyosha - well done - such a cutie, hopefully you won't still be going in the early hours of tomorrow morning. Sending very good vibes your way. If you have a minute, send some whelping vibes my way if you have some to spare!!

Mia is still conserving all her energy and is sunbaking in the sunroom as we speak!! Britt we're not sure at this point what colours we'll get, it's mia's first litter and we've bred her to a Liver dog, this way we'll find out whether or not she's hiding a recessive liver gene there. Her mother was black and white and her father was the same as her but there were a lot of liver and liver and white pups in her litter. A mixed litter would be lovely but if they are all black, black and white that's OK as long as they arrive healthy and safe and our Mia is OK. Alyosha - sounds like it's getting mightly close for you, keep us updated as the day wears on - i'm home on puppy watch (3rd day now 8 days to go before I go back to work) so i'm just floating around the place not doing much after I come back from town this morning, i'll hang around and see if there is any action!! I so had my fingers crossed for you last night!
-
Alyosha i've got my fingers crossed for you! My mia is having a lovely big sleep at the end of the couch at the moment - looks WAY too comfortable for anything to be happening tonight that is for sure.
-
OMG 3 weeks would be killing me at this point. It is so exciting, can't wait for them to arrive now! I'm with you alyosha - at this point another 3 days is going to do my head in! She started digging around in her bean bag and i suddenly thought - nesting!! Two seconds later I realised she always does this to get a comfortable spot and she promptly settled in for a nice sleep. Has not eaten very much at all today though so we MUST be getting close.
-
Oh my goodness - she couldn't possibly get any bigger could she!!
-
Exciting Alyosha!! We've dropped too - it just looks so wrong doesn't it!! Mia has gone from eating bucketloads to much smaller amounts in the last 24hours, has hardly eaten much today at all. No panting or anything else going on, just very sooky, whining and lots of position changing as she can't get comfortable! I guess we'll just keep waiting! I was wondering last night if you'd had any action!
-
Well i've made it to Brisbane and back with the whelping box and the pups are still where I left them - the whole way back I imagined coming home to a very happy looking Mia with her little tribe on the outside! To top it off the VetBed also arrived today so we are well and truly ready to go! So now we wait.... Alyosha, yours sounds closer than mine at the moment, we're still eating and romping around the place like nobody's business so i'd imagine we're a bit of a way off yet. I love the upside down sleep - Mia's favourite position - such glamorous dogs!
-
Yes it's almost a race to the finish line....first litter for us though so i'd really love it if she'd give me a day or two to get the rest of the house in order after I get back from picking up her box tomorrow! Good news is i'm plenty used to night shift so an all nighter isn't going to bother me - i'll still be vomiting in the corner but I won't be tired!!! :-P
-
Love your Dal, we had a black spot male and liver female, both gone over the rainbow bridge now - lived to a ripe old age - the loveliest dogs, Your girl reminds me a lot of our girl too....will be lovely to see the pics of the puppies! She's pretty big for 6.5 weeks will be interested to see how many you have!
-
Has anyone ever seen a fat GSP? Such a big difference from the normally very athletic looking Mia that i'm used to! Mind you that hasn't stopped her roaring around the place. Due 10th but not sure we'll make it that far? Whelping box gets picked up tomorrow just in the nick of time!!
-
With 10 days still to go? LOTS! That's my best guess Ha ha - my thoughts exactly! I think i'm going to be one busy busy mum! God help me!
-
Hi Guys, We're on the countdown - due the 10th so not long to go now! I'm struggling with the decision not to go for x-rays/ultrasound (i figure what is in there is in there and if I think there is any left we'll be off to the vet regardless of what any imaging shows me) however i'm DYING to know how many are maybe in there! So here is a picture - what do you all think, we can feel quite a few of them rocketing around in there (poor mia!) Can't get a standing up pic because as soon as I get her standing up she gets over it and just wants to lie down again (who can blame the poor girl!) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v355/rusty_rulz2/Mia002-1.jpg

Welcome to DOL and good luck with your litter. Thanks - she's expading every minute and today we noticed some milk in her teats! I'm used to foaling down horses and all this not knowing how many are in there business has me a bit nervous! Ah well - new experiences, i'm sure we'll get used to this in time.

We've got a litter of GSPs due 10th July...first one for us so very nervous - she has only just started to show in the last 2 weeks so a big sigh of relief was had by all when she finally got there!
