Well I thought I would give an ear update... It wasn't long after my last post I stopped taping her ear as it just did not seem to do too much and honestly I got sick of doing it and worrying about her bloody stupid ear.. Anyway about a week and a half ago they swapped over FFS I thought it was somehow looking her though a mirror, gee it really looked weird... So since then they have been flip flopping and yesterday we had a pup with both Rose ears :) well it has to be teething that is doing it.... So maybe one day I will get home to a Bud Dog... :)

Our Pug is 6 mths old and she has and does so many weird arse things. She has a Stupid ear i.e. one is a Rose and the other is a Bud ear, but recently they have started to swap so the left is the Bud and the right is Rose, one day they will be the same (I hope) :) Maybe when she stops teething we'll know what they will be like... About 2 weeks ago we bought her a "Kryptonite collar" that when we have had enough of her energy we put the collar on and we have a lovely quite Pug.. almost stops her in her tracks she just sits and cuddles you... They are available a Coles Super Market the Kryptonite coloured ones... Her latest weird behaviour::::: Today I uploaded this to Youtube as she never leaves my side and I was Working at home so I finally got a video of her doing this... She makes Toy noises (Howls kind of) we think it's funny I hope you get a chuckle... Or Post your dogs being weird for a laugh... :)

Kennels And Vets In Canberra/queanbeyan?
Kiwipete replied to KitKat's topic in General Dog Discussion
A Friend of ours use to run a service where they would travel to peoples homes to feed and water Dogs/Cats... Is there such a service in Canberra still ? -
Does anyone have the contact details for the Tuggeranong Club....???

Well Gracie's ear is getting somewhat better, I think her problem is that see tends to pop one ear back (expression/personality) more than the other which has effected how it sits... but this tape and a massage seems to help.... I am hoping that it will settle down to a permanent Button ear soon.... I just spent time reading some of the posts on this thread and I think everyone is OK with this taping as a no invasive method of getting the breed to look like the standard. (Sure it's vane but does it really matter to the dog?? nope! ).. and surgery is perfectly fine for fixing potential issues later on in life, skin folds etc... in fact our little pup came to us with her front dew claws removed, and we desex as well, Gracie will be desexed in a month or so so there is no risk of passing on this Stupid Ear into the breed (Kidding), But we did discuss desexing options with the Vet and he said if you are not going to breed from her to get her desexed for her health, "so it is a No Brainer" ... Also I have heard of some Pugs needing some nose surgery to help them breath to put less strain on their ticker.... I don't think many (if anybody) would really agree with surgery to improve the imperfections, - that is pretty nuts, if you had to go that far obviously you purchased or breed poorly... So all in all we try and do our best for our vane selves but also for the health of our charges... And if Gracie end's up with this Stupid Ear we'll still love her the same

Of course it doesn't matter she doesn't care how she looks and some call it character, I call it a "Stupid looking ear"... The dog is fine with it... i.e. having a stupid looking head - why would she care she isn't the one that has to look at it all the time ... But you know when you have a new tattoo and it just doesn't look quite right, or a new car that has the tiniest scratch... Well it just bugs the bejesus outta me... I never said that she had the problem - I know I am the one with the problem... If I could afford therapy then that would likely get the same result however have you priced a good shrink lately FFS ... But a roll of tape from the Chemist isle at Coles cost me less than $6.00 very easy discussion in my view and the kids get to eat another week... It's obviously not for everyone but it doesn't do anyone any harm so us Vain people that need to have everything around them looking "Just Right" I think taping ears is a great option if you new pups arn't just quite right.. BTW as I said earlier (I Think) the rest of my family thought me to be the stupid one but the more I went on and frigg'n on about it they finally saw sense and it started bugging them too winner so it is now endorsed by the Clan I bet you are wondering how my family can live with me hahahaha they love me a me them lastly if the tape comes off and her ear is still stupid I really couldn't care less as I tried and failed but at least I tried and one stupid ear doesn't give her character - It's what is in her heart

I have to agree with you... But I want to do what ever it takes to protect her from all the ridicule and name calling that she maybe faced with growing up with two different ears, .... lol miserable lol she was just about asleep when I took the photo, the only reason she looked miserable was because I disturb her from a rest to get a pic for you lol Seriously I wouldn't bother if it was going to be difficult and upsetting to her but a little bit of tape doesn't seem to hurt her one bit. And she has personality galore so doesn't need to stupid ear to make her any more Darling.. BTW ::: When I first saw taped ears I thought it was dreadful too, but bloody easy thing to do and if it makes her look better well be it...
-
Did it She is nearly asleep here that is how I got the pic, otherwise the photo's are blurry as she bounces and bounds, bounces and bounds, bounces and bounds, bounces and bounds anyway it doesn't bother her she hasn't scratched at it or nothing, she slept fine lastnight so hardly a cruel thing to do... Just Damn VAIN

Ok I wasn't going to do it but you have made me feel like if I don't do something I could regret it... So went to Bunnings and got some double sided tape... I stopped at the permanent Outside tape and just got the normal inside tape.... hmmmmm ???? Then I thought I had better find out how to do this as I was just going to put a small square of Double sided tape in the inside of the ear so it didn't fold back... Pug Taping This is a bit more than what I thought would be needed

Got an email back the breeder and she thought that it was teething also and that it is likely to be only a temp thing as there is none of it in her blood line... well I won't be taping her back as my family all think that she likes it like that and that she wants to be special... Hey I gotta go with that.... But I will post if it ever goes back to a button,,,,
-
Thanks for the replies I have stopped looking at her as if she was some sort of freak and again as a beautiful little Pug as she is... Yeah I will talk to the breeder but really I think I am the one with the problem and not our little girl... Taping Ears lol I use to do that years ago when playing Rugby as the Hooker in the Front row... Mind you it must work as I still have my good looks...

Stupid Ear Photo - So her left ear folds at the back shortening it's length and width at the front.... This was a rushed photo and it was getting dark... This is a pic of how her ear looked last week..... Gracie is the one in the front.... The other one is a Cat...
-
Our 4 month old Pug has developed a stupid fold in one of her ears so that it isn't sitting the same as her other ear....I am hoping that it only a temp thing as cosmetic surgery isn't out of the question... I am joking... hmmmm maybe sticky tape Really bugs me but no one else in the family "it's just her the way she is", "makes her unique", "stop teasing her" .... By the way we never bought her to show but she is almost perfect except for this stupid ear fold..... IS IT FOREVER OR JUST A TEMP THING?????

We have a lovely little 4mth Old pug and man could she eat if we let her OMG.... Anyway we have cat food up high on a couple of ottomans but soon it will have to go higher, we have to feed our cranky Maltese outside and Gracie inside... This pup would eat itself to death if you let her I am sure... Anyway at 4 mths she is getting one wheatbix and Puppy Milk in the morning, in the evening a lump of Beef Mince and a bit over 1/3 cup of eukanuba Puppy food... Are we on the right track? She doesn't look fat but stocky (mind you thats what i call myself) she runs around like a mad thing... So really all I want to hear that we are doing fine or maybe some feeding suggestions.... Thank you all

That is what I thought.....

Last week I Posted my First Post, Subject was something like "First Post Watch for Scammers" I can’t find it any more as I wanted to PM a contributor and even though I posted a few times to that same topic my profile shows I have no Posts... ??? I tried searching for Kiwipete but also drew No Posts... can someone try and find it for me... Or is this Forum a Heavily Moderated Forum and that Topic could have been deleted without notification?
