  1. Vetgen in the USA does it, there is also vetnostic that does it for cheaper I believe.
  2. Dobequest is great for researching north American dobe pedigrees, it often has the results of health testing and cause of death listed... Very informative!
  3. My house doesn't smell doggy, have had dog haters over that said so :D I keep Windows and doors open a lot, vacuum regularly, change elsies bedding, and we have scented candles too :)
  4. I have the pet one soft crate, can carry it with one hand with ease, goes up in a minute... Super easy!
  5. Elsie is raw fed, we give k9 natural on occasions when I have not stocked up on food as supermarkets sell it frozen here. The freeze dried food is great for trips away when you don't have freezer access and don't want to resort to feeding kibble. We were actually at a 3 day seminar last weekend and there wasn't room to keep all the raw fed dogs food there so quite a few had the freeze dried food :) it is expensive though, Elsie went through pretty much a whole bag over the weekend as she tends to drop weight really quickly when she is working all day. Its way cheaper to just feed raw and use pre made as a back up IMO :)
  6. Elsie would swallow them whole when she was little, so I gave her a few frozen ones and gave her room to eat them (she would bolt them down if I hovered over her while she was eating) and she learned to chew them. She is a 13kg dog full grown and will.carefully chew necks and wings.
  7. Boys are dim :p Magic is more mature than both maestro and hunter already LOL
  8. Mini poodle for sure! I know heaps that do very well in obedience and agility here, they are great with people, bolshy and out going, toy driven, intelligent...
  9. Watch the DVD again! :) I'm training using 2x2 at the moment.
  10. I know someone that had a system installed that had a loud beep whenever the dogs barked at the fence, within two days they didn't care about it, and it bothered the owners!
  11. Yuck, glad I don't live there! hope Sydney cools down by the time I visit in March
  12. Will try get some videos of Elsie uploaded once I get a new laptop *cries* Adding another 4 weave poles in today and might give full size dogwalk a try... One thing with running contacts, it gets hard to find a safe way to raise height of your contact if you don't have an adjustable dogwalk... I have been using old tables and podiums, but its unsafe for Elsie to jump up to that height now... Will give full size a go today, if that doesn't work.... Hmmm will have to put my thinking cap on!
  13. Great post Roova - lots to think about!
  14. My friends intact boy peed on her puppys head, as puppy was sniffing something gooood and the boy was impatient LOL.
  15. My desexed terrier x will mark over where intact boys have marked... Cocks her leg too!
  16. Elsie is raw fed, but gets a little but of junk (off our plates, and sausages for training). Partner and I are vegetarians, grow our own veggies, go to farmers markets for local produce, make our own bread and pasta... So we do eat pretty healthy, but I get insane chocolate cravings for whittakers peanut butter chocolate. We generally avoid take away food and processed food though.
  17. Elsie had some steak, rabbit, chicken wings, a chicken leg, a fish oil pill... And half an ice cream cone with a little bit of soft serve
  18. Elsie has invented a really weird game. When she has a ball in her mouth, and you won't play fetch with her she will start playing this weird solo version of "dont take my ball". If you hold your hand out, or even have your foot up because you have crossed your legs, she will repeatedly slam the ball into your hand/foot and growl crazily like you're trying to steal it... If you actually do try to take it she will let you (play more fetch!!)
  19. They ARE fun! Talk to someone in the NZKC. Give them my details (I am an ET Judge) if they want or need to talk to anyone about what is involved. M I would love to get something like that off the ground, will send you a PM to talk ;)
  20. Training is all going well here! Have some important dates this year... First tracking trial in February, there are two CD tests in March, we start agility in April and then working trials in November! For agility we're doing well with handling skills, distance work and just started directional commands. Up to 4 poles.in a row for 2x2, and just had third running contact training session. For obedience our heelwork is improving and have taught everything for CD (stand for exam, retrieve, drop on recall, scents, stay, heel)... Now to proof it all!!! Tracking is going best! Did an awesome 500m long blind hill track with no food in crazy winds the other day and Elsie was amazing :-) bring on 2013!
  21. I wish we had ETs in New Zealand! Sounds like so much fun!
  22. I'm a vegetarian so don't keep spare meat around the house, but if I run out I just pop down to the butcher or supermarket and get some beef or chicken, or pre-made raw if I go to a different supermarket.
  23. Tracking update... The South Island is hosting its first tracking only trial in February, so we don't have to wait until the UD trial in November to track! So exciting! Have upped training a little, went out and did an awesome hill track today, and heading off to a 3 day tracking seminar at the end of this month :D
