  1. Why no photos Lhok? I keep reading through all the rescue dog listings... It's not good for me... Someone make me stop! If I get a rescue dog, then I can't get a gorgeous portuguese podengo next year like I have planned! But next year is a very long way away...
  2. Had a great night at training working on a really difficult jumpers course... Had a jump going into a straight tunnel with a 3 hurdle serp after, Elsie NAILED it! I was so surprised! Really didn't think we could get a serp with me being that far back but she did SO well! We've lost left weave entries again though *sigh* right when we're got a trial on this weekend, and it'll probably rain on Wednesday and cancel training
  3. Interesting - thanks for sharing! My three fav whippet colours are quite uncommon! (black, white, red)
  4. Elsie eats yucky dead stuff, and poo, quite regularly. It doesn't bother me too much. What annoys me is the grass munching!! She doesn't do it at home (the grass here is not up to standard) but one of the parks we go to has delicious grass, and so does agility... HATE HATE HATE "helping" with those poops, she always tries to do it on the busiest street possible at rush hour traffic time... You know with everyone sitting there waiting for lights to change... oh the horror.......
  5. Awesome!! Pretty good record, he could give a lot of dogs over here a run for their money! Top records here at the moment are Power to weight ratio: 44.47, a Sibe that pulled 1223.00 Top weight: 1708.00 by two different Alaskan Mals
  6. That's what I always think when I see these name things, just waiting for the one that asks for the name of your first pet and your mother's maiden name
  7. No trouble keeping weight off Elsie, did have trouble keeping it on though! She is not that into food outside of training (she would turn herself inside out for anything if you ask her to work for it though!), and is very active... In hot weather the weight just melts off her.
  8. Anyone following the AKC tracking list drama? I assume mixed breeds are able to compete in tracking in Australia?
  9. To those of you that quarantine a dog in your home, what sort of set up do you have? Do they toilet somewhere entirely different to where the rest of your dogs go? The logistics of it is quite mind boggling LOL. We rescued a dog once, that was not vaccinated, but luckily I was good friends with someone that owned a boarding kennel and they had a large quarantine set up so we were able to keep him somewhere until he was vaccinated...
  10. They always have an awesome time together I love how well they get on, they'll each have turns being the chaser/chasee, then it turns to wrestling and they have the same wrestle style and have turns being "on top" LOL
  11. Some new photos from our trip to the park today with her best friend Dice :D
  12. New custom made sledding harness (excuse the sad dog face, she doesn't like me making her pose for photos in a stand stay LOL)
  13. Y'all need to get scooters, not skateboards! Check out the sledding thread for ideas :p :p
  14. I am absolutely a working breed person, BUT you could almost tempt me with a Bullmastiff, I LOVE them! I worked for a Bullmastiff breeder for a few years, loved all of those big doofy dogs <3
  15. Elsie's new harness arrived! Excuse the sad face, she hates posing in new gear for photos!!
  16. Haha Elsie has so many pretty flat collars, but as she doesn't wear one when home, and she wears a plain black collar at obedience, a limited slip at agility and has a large harness collection for the other sports... She never gets to wear the pretty ones! Doesn't stop me buying them though....
  17. Had a go at weightpulling today with Elsie - she loved it! Was screaming her head off whenever anyone else was having a go LOL she was trying so hard to get back to the weight pull trolley, I had to pick her up and hold her (much to her embarrassment). She managed to pull 175kg (including weight of trolley) today - pretty good for her first go I thought! :)
  18. Elsie doesn't really wear a collar as she is a grot, always rolling in poop or puddles! She has a limited slip martingale for agility, I love it as I can so easily slip it on or off, and I feel better if she runs "naked" in agility - nothing to get caught up on!
  19. One of the pound rescue threads on here gets an unfair number of JRT x working breeds - I WANT THEM ALL! Sad news for me, but good news for tumbles... The people that had a look at him on Thursday adopted him this morning. So I'll have to just wait for the next adorable JRT x
  20. That's my thoughts on the digestion rate thing. Do you also split meat and bone apart and feed at different times? What about different types of meat? For raw feeders that feed veggies, do you split those by digestion rate too? What happens if they eat their raw and then go outside and eat poop? Is that going to digest too fast and hurt them?
